DAYS' James Scott stars in holiday epic

'Tis the season for a new Christmas classic starring Days of our Lives' James Scott.

Christmas is still a few days away, but fans of former Days of our Lives actor James Scott (ex-E.J. DiMera) can celebrate early. The actor is one of several cast members in Christmas Eve, 1914, an audio dramatization that reenacts a special WWI holiday moment, now available for free.

Written by Emmy-winning scribe Charles Olivier, the 73-minute Audible, Inc. drama follows a company of British officers involved in a real-life Christmas miracle: the moment when British, German, and French WWI troops -- facing each other from trenches across a barbed-wire "no man's land" -- put their differences aside to sing holiday songs, play soccer, and share sweets and schnapps.

"The Christmas Eve truce of 1914 remains an incredibly poignant and inspiring moment in our collective history, when men even in the midst of battle agreed to stop fighting for a few hours," said Audible EVP and Publisher Beth Anderson of the audiobook, which also stars Xander Berkeley, Damon Herriman, Cody Fern, Nate Jones, and Cameron Daddo. "The performance by this talented ensemble of actors takes listeners right into the trenches, bringing this remarkable story to life for a new generation. We're happy to make this transporting, beautifully produced recording available free."

Adds Olivier: "You wouldn't think that a story from WWI would be either joyous or tender. And yet, it was here that one of the most remarkable moments in human history occurred. It's one of those events that defy a writer's imagination, and having the opportunity to tell a bit of this story has been a gift."

Scott starred on DAYS from 2006 to 2014, after which he left the daytime drama to pursue other projects. Since exiting DAYS, he has also appeared in a music video.
