Ivy accepted the Forrester jewelry contract but needed a Los Angeles liaison, and Hope hired Wyatt for the job. As Liam continued to make inroads with Wyatt, Wyatt found it hard to fully give up on Hope. Ridge's memory flashes led him to confront Bill with the suspicion that Bill and Justin had orchestrated Ridge's plunge into the gulf. As Bill denied it, Justin and Alison worked hard to cover the Spencer helicopter's tracks in Abu Dhabi. Aly broke up with Oliver due to his confession about the recording. At a jousting event, Oliver disguised himself as a knight to reclaim her affections. Rick advised Carter that Maya had made moves on him, and Carter broke off his engagement to Maya.

What happened during the week of July 14, 2014

John learned that Theresa had deceived Brady and tricked him into marrying her. When John told Theresa that he was going to tell Brady what she had been up to, Theresa panicked and hit John in the head. Theresa covered her tracks and let a drunken Brady think that he had attacked his father. At the hospital, Brady worried that he had killed his father. Theresa continued to lie to the police and Daniel about what had happened to John. Sami told a shocked Will and Sonny that E.J. and Abigail had had an affair. Eric tried to convince Sami to stop her plan for revenge. Hope and Aiden could not stop thinking about the special moment they shared at the gala. Sami spread the news around town about Abigail and E.J.'s torrid affair. Abigail and Eve had a terrible fight in Horton Square. E.J. pleaded with Sami for forgiveness, but all she wanted was revenge. Sami was surprised that Kate had moved into the DiMera mansion. Marlena was upset to learn of John's injury. Will's new writing assignment might put him at odds with his family and loved ones. Sami learned that Rafe had cheated on Jordan with Kate. Ben asked Abigail about E.J. Jordan and Ben were shocked to learn that Clyde had found them and that he planned to stay in Salem.

Kiki approached Silas about donating Rafe's heart to Alice, since Rafe and Alice had the same blood type. Silas agreed to the transplant, but a toxicology report revealed that Rafe had been exposed to heroin, so Rafe's heart could not be donated to Alice. Rafe's loved ones gathered to say goodbye to Rafe. Silas turned off Rafe's life support. Nina briefly considered confessing the truth to Silas when she had an unsettling vision of Rafe taunting her. However, Nina's attack of conscience passed when she overheard Silas and Sam argue about Patrick's role in Rafe's death. Anna was disappointed when Patrick revealed that he had asked Alexis to draw up divorce papers. Tracy promised that she would continue to use ELQ's resources to find Alice a new heart provided Alice agreed to keep quiet about Tracy's plans to unseat Michael as CEO. Michael noticed Morgan and Kiki's renewed closeness. Levi took steps to make it appear that Nathan had notified Immigration that Levi's visa had expired. Maxie was hurt by what she believed was Nathan's betrayal, so she evicted him from the apartment. Lucas talked to Julian about Brad and Felix. Spencer helped Britt spend time with Nikolas but Elizabeth's unexpected arrival forced Spencer to take drastic action by disappearing for a while.

Jack and Nick both walked Summer down the aisle at her church wedding to Austin. The police arrived to arrest Austin for violating the terms of his bail by committing fraud, but the guests banded together to convince the authorities that the wedding had been legitimate. Sharon tried to piece together her memories to figure out her secret. Victor attempted to manipulate Dr. Mead, and he contacted a doctor about a drug that could reverse comas. Nikki presented Michael with a journal she'd kept during her New World days in an attempt to prove that Ian had forced himself on her, but she was terrified that people would learn of its contents. Paul was released from the hospital, and he and Christine argued about his bond with Nikki. Hilary and Devon started to make love, but Cane interrupted them. Devon considered leaving town to avoid his feelings for Hilary, but Neil convinced him to stay and face his unfinished business. Jill and Colin decided to use the funds from their bogus insurance claim to expand Fenmore's, and Lauren reluctantly agreed to allow Colin into the family business. Traci finalized her divorce from Steve, and Abby comforted her. Kelly confessed to Jack that Stitch was a murderer. Kevin discovered evidence that Stitch had stolen Ben Rayburn's identity, but Chelsea opted not to tell Billy. The mysterious man watched Billy and Chelsea flirt via the hidden camera. Someone unlocked the front door as Billy and Chelsea were about to make love.
