CBS soap stars Darin Brooks (Wyatt Spencer, The Bold and the Beautiful) and Kelly Kruger (ex-Mackenzie Browning, The Young and the Restless) have one of the cutest families in daytime, and the cuteness is about to grow. The proud parents just announced that baby number two is on the way!
The couple enthuses that they are "so excited" about their second bundle of joy, who will be joining their 22-month-old daughter, Everleigh Jolie.
"We told our daughter Everleigh as soon as we found out, and since then she asks to kiss my tummy every day," Kruger shares with People. "It's the sweetest thing."
Unfortunately, Kruger reports that the first trimester of her pregnancy wasn't as comfortable as her first time around. "Laying down and binge-watching TV doesn't work when you have a one-year-old running around," she jokes, adding, "It was definitely much more challenging. Plus we just moved! It has been a lot, to say the least, but we are so grateful."
Brooks has been super supportive of his wife and her pregnancy, calling her a "real champion" for being strong and handling it with ease.
"There was a lot more morning sickness with this pregnancy and a lot less sleep... The first time around she was away shooting a movie so I didn't get to see the first trimester struggle, but watching her go through it this time she's been so strong handling it all and it's been amazing to see," he shares. "We are so excited about this new addition."
Kruger has been playing the role of Y&R's Mackenzie Browning on-again, off-again since 2002. She also makes appearances on B&B as a publicist named Eva, a role she's played since 2014. Her additional credits include A Very Corgi Christmas, Blue Mountain State, Reboot Camp, and The Bold Type.
Brooks joined B&B in 2013. His previous credits included Blue Mountain State, Bloomers, Miss Behave, and Days of our Lives, where he played the role of Max Brady from 2005 to 2011. He also joined Pierson Fodé (ex-Thomas Forrester, B&B), Michelle Argyris (Kendra Lennon, General Hospital), Eric Roberts (ex-Vance Abrams, Y&R), Chaz Bono (ex-Reverend Rydell, B&B), and his real-life wife in the comedy film Reboot Camp.
UPDATE (September 12, 2021): Kelly Kruger and Darin Brooks are happy to share that their second baby is going to be a little girl! The pair shared their gender reveal news in an Instagram video that slowly turns from black and white to pink, which you can view below.
