JANUARY 2000

Craig agreed to let Chloe move in with him and Nancy. Bo and "Hope" were married. Gina caused Shawn to jump off the ledge. Bo accidentally shot Gina, and Marlena was injured. John remembered his time on the sub. Stefano and Hope continued to try to escape.
January 10 to 14, 2000
Shawn was saved from the ledge and would make a full recovery. Belle was relieved. Eric tried to convince Greta that it was not her mother that had been shot. Bo prayed for a miracle for "Hope." Doug and Julie shared a song for "Hope" in the hospital chapel. Hope and Stefano continued to try to contact someone outside the castle. Sami and Brandon got closer, while Austin tried to help Nicole. "Hope" died while Bo watched in disbelief.
January 17 to 21, 2000
Salem mourned the death of "Hope." Brandon and Sami got closer. Chloe started school at Salem High. Nicole put her plan to break up Greta and Eric into motion. John stole files from Marlena's office. Marlena caught John putting the files back but was glad he had taken them. Stefano and Hope continued to try to contact the outside world.
January 24 to 28, 2000
Austin and Sami fought when she wouldn't tolerate Nicole. Eric was angry when Greta showed him her new apartment courtesy of Nicole. John continued to have memories of his time on the sub. Hope got sicker and thought it might be her way out of the castle. The Brady and Horton families found out that it was Princess Gina who had died and not Hope.
January 31 to February 4, 2000
Chloe helped Shawn with his homework, which displeased Mimi. Hope took a home pregnancy test, which was positive. Nicole continued to try to break up Eric and Greta. Kate and Nicholas had some steamy moments. Brandon continued to try to dig up dirt on Abe. Greta pressed Lily to try to find out who her father was. Kurt fell from the roof of the castle, and Hope was bitten by a venomous spider -- with only Stefano to save her.

FEBRUARY 2000
February 7 to 11, 2000
Kate had some steamy daydreams about Nicholas and asked Marlena if she would marry Victor if she were in Kate's shoes. Brandon got Larry to start to file suit against Abe and danced with Lexie. Hope fought the spider bite with Stefano's help. Stefano learned that Hope was pregnant and recalled their time together on the sub. John had more memories of his past as a thief that were very disturbing. Vivian believed that she would be married to Victor, and Ivan bought a lottery ticket. Greta and Eric continued to have problems. Bo decided to start the search for Hope.
February 14 to 18, 2000
Most of Salem planned a trip to France, but Rolf and Bart had sabotaged the airplane. Stefano got sicker, and Hope also experienced more medical problems. Abe was suspended from the police force. John had more memories of his time with Stefano.
February 21 to 25, 2000
Vivian decided not to tell Victor about Kate and Nicholas and left town with Ivan, who won a big lottery prize. Brandon continued his revenge plans on Abe. Roman took over the police commander's job while Abe was suspended. On the airplane, John began to remember his mercenary past when he had to take control of the airplane. John realized there was a bomb on board, and he and others worked to defuse it.
February 28 to March 3, 2000
Philip and Chloe had words at dot.com and then Chloe fantasized about being a world-famous opera singer. Sami and Austin shared some tender moments. Nicole tried to get the scoop on Abe and Brandon's feud from her mother. Greta and Eric got closer on the island. Gina's dead body washed up in the lagoon. Marlena worried about John's behavior. Brandon continued his revenge vendetta. Lexie had doubts about Abe's case. Bo was rescued from the island, and the others were to be rescued later.

March 6 to 10, 2000
Abe was thrown by Brandon's sudden change in strategy during the arbitration. Hope spotted Bo and John near the castle and began planning her escape. Victor told a stunned Kate that he was impotent. Lucas rebuffed Nicole's suggestion that he let Sami have custody of Will.
March 13 to 17, 2000
As the Salemites gathered outside the castle for Gina's burial, Hope and Stefano tried in vain to get their attention. Gina's casket opened as it was lowered into her grave, and her hand seemed to point toward the turret. John, Marlena, and Bo found the castle dungeon filled with paintings. Unaware that the chimney flue was closed, Hope and Stefano lit a fire to signal Bo and John, and they were overcome by the billowing smoke.
March 20 to 24, 2000
Sami got discouraging news about her plans to get custody of Will. Kate and Victor devised a plan to retrieve the five million-dollar bribe from Nicole by setting her up with a phony investment scheme. Bo and Shawn rescued a semiconscious Hope from the turret. John reluctantly rescued Stefano so as not to lose his only link with his past. Hope told Shawn and Bo that she was pregnant. An unconscious Stefano responded to Lexie's outpouring of love for her father. Bo feared that Stefano might have fathered Hope's child.
March 27 to 31, 2000
Thanks to Lexie's tender loving care, Stefano was "back" in every way. Hope warned him to stay away from her and the Bradys, unaware that he might be the father of her child. The Bradys and friends celebrated Hope's return. Hope pressed her family and friends to tell her the truth about her past and life as Princess Gina. Bo struggled with whether or not to tell Hope the truth about the baby's paternity. Marlena urged John to talk about his past, and he tried to push aside the fact that he could be the father of Hope's child. Chloe's interest in Philip continued, and her relationship with Nancy improved. Nicole's meeting with Rex Rollins triggered bad memories, causing Rex to have an accident and pull out of their business investment. Victor took great pleasure in his plan to trap Nicole. Brandon tried to convince Sami to dump Austin and play dirty to get custody of Will. Abe's memories of Larry haunted him. Eric invited Sami to move in with him. Maggie was the new owner of Tuscany. Austin and Greta bonded over their similar and troubled childhoods.

Larry became emotionally distraught after seeing Abe for the first time since the shooting. Stefano manipulated Lexie to gain more information regarding the paternity of Hope's baby.

Nicole almost told Eric the truth about her past and later drew Eric into her favor by telling him that she wanted Will to live with Sami no matter what the cost to her marriage. Chloe overheard Nancy and her father arguing over who she should live with and why. Chloe then told a heartbroken Nancy that she wanted to live with her grandparents.

After a false labor scare, Hope finally had her "amnio," and all was well. Stefano ordered Dr. Rolf to steal a sample of the fluid, but he had an accident when leaving the hospital. Hope questioned Bo about his "odd" behavior toward the baby, as John was determined to find out the truth from Stefano, even though Marlena disapproved. Chloe told Craig that Nancy was lying to him, and then told Belle that Nancy was her biological mother. Philip was uneasy that his friends would learn that he had befriended Chloe. Eric struggled with his feelings for Greta and Nicole. Nicole continued to manipulate Greta into thinking there was more between her and Eric. Austin and Greta formed a friendship. Sami separately challenged Eric and Nicole to fight for each other, all in the name of her plan to win custody of Will. Austin tried to find the good in Nicole. Lucas had his own plan to keep custody of Will. Larry started his new job at the hospital. Nicole gave Rex more than another two million towards what she thought was her "liberation from life in Salem."
April 24 to 28, 2000
Sami told Brandon that she and Nicole would turn Lucas back into a raging drunk, enabling Sami to get custody of Will. Stefano blew up at Rolf for mugging Lexie in order to get Hope's amnio sample. She then ordered him to find a healthy, pregnant woman whose due date was around the same time as Hope's.

Abe considered resigning from the force. Nancy finally told Craig that Chloe was her biological daughter, but not his child. Sami and Eric learned more news of Franco's death that might win her custody of Will. Brandon and Nicole took Fay out for her birthday. Kate met her match in Fay, as she renewed Victor's acquaintance and got a glimpse of an old friend -- Abe Carver. Nicole tried to tempt Lucas back to the bottle, but he resisted. Stefano met Dr. Rolf's pregnant niece, Marlo, who would play a big part in Stefano's plan to adopt a child for Lexie and Abe. Philip and Shawn bet on Chloe.
May 15 to 19, 2000
Stefano coached Marlo in her new role to convince Lexie to adopt her baby. Abe and Lexie continued to argue over Larry and the prospects of adoption. Lexie walked out on Abe after he told her he did not want to adopt a baby for a while, especially not one related to Stefano. Lexie continued to fall into Stefano's trap, even against the advice of Celeste. Austin and Greta kissed. Sami told Roman and Brandon about the new evidence in Franco's murder, and how the facts might finally implicate Lucas and Kate. Nicole began to open up to Eric about her sordid past and dysfunctional family history. Sami and Brandon got closer. Chloe confided in Belle about Philip. Chloe got her wish as Craig and Nancy agreed to stay together, and Nancy insisted that she would recognize Chloe as her daughter, no matter the consequences. Kate and Lucas were determined to keep the truth about Franco's murder from Roman and Sami.
May 22 to 26, 2000
Roman infiltrated the Blue Note to get new evidence in Franco's murder, and was furious to find Eric with Nicole. Nicole almost told Eric the entire story of her sordid past. Lexie confided in Brandon about her problems with Abe and the adoption. During a visit with Bo and Hope, Bo tried to get Abe to consider adopting Marlo's baby even though it was related to Stefano. Doug and Julie planted a tree of life for the baby. Eric and Greta got close, but Greta was still jealous of Eric's ties to Nicole. Nicole lied to Lucas as she continued her plan to start him drinking again while on their romantic getaway to Green Mountain Lodge. Kate was onto Nicole. Nicole supported Sami to win back Eric. Marlo's drinking spree jeopardized Stefano's plan to have Abe and Lexie adopt Hope's baby. Abe saw Marlo at her lowest point. Brandon was upset that Sami and Lexie were getting to Larry. Sami and Brandon prepared to go undercover at the Blue Note, all in a bid to get custody of Will.
May 29 to June 2, 2000
Marlena helped Hope prepare for the wedding, while Hope still wondered about her life as Princess Gina. Bo and Hope hosted an impromptu family dinner and asked everyone to participate in their wedding. John told Marlena that he had asked Stefano to help him keep Hope's past a secret, but Marlena suspected John was keeping secrets of his own. Nicole, Lucas, Eric, and Greta all planned romance at Green Mountain Lodge, unaware of each other's presence. Nicole used every opportunity to encourage Lucas to drink. Chloe saved Philip's life, but was embarrassed by all the attention. Nancy and Craig revealed Chloe's true identity. Chloe and Philip just couldn't seem to be honest about their feelings for each other. Craig warned Lexie about her job performance. Sami and Brandon forged ahead with their plan. Sami suspected Brandon was more connected to Larry than he was saying. Marlo couldn't shake her hangover, and Dr. Rolf gave her a little too much help. Abe finally agreed to adopt Marlo's baby when he realized his marriage was at stake. Abe continued to have doubts about Stefano's involvement in the adoption and Marlo's health. Marlo fainted from a drug reaction in the presence of Abe and Lexie.

Bo and Hope's plan to elope was halted by family and labor pains. Dr. Rolf took a job at the hospital, posing as nurse "Rolfina," as part of the plan to switch babies. Abe and Lexie finally agreed to adopt Marlo's baby. After Marlo sneaked out of the secret room, she also went into labor. Chloe had a sleepover at Belle's as Nancy and Marlena bonded with their daughters. Nancy defended Chloe to Philip. Mimi's appearance and behavior worsened, as Chloe was certain that Mimi was in big trouble and decided to find out more about the situation. Philip and Chloe both protested too much about their dislike for each other. Victor ordered Rex to finish off Nicole, but Rex had questions about her past. Lucas survived his romantic escape with Nicole without drinking. Nicole was about to become penniless once again. Sami warned Nicole that if she didn't get Lucas to fall off the wagon so Sami could gain custody of Will, Nicole could kiss Eric goodbye permanently. Austin noticed that Eric still had strong feelings for Nicole, and was concerned about Greta. Austin warned Sami to play it straight and accept joint custody of Will. Nicholas wanted to tell Victor that he was in love with Kate, but was interrupted. Kate finally gave in and spent a romantic evening with Nicholas.
July 10 to 14, 2000
Chloe and Philip were crowned king and queen of the Last Blast dance, but Philip got the brunt of Jan and Jason's trick meant for Chloe. Sami agreed to go to Paris with Brandon as they got a major lead regarding Angela Meroni, but Austin suspected Sami was lying to him. Nicole told Lucas she might have cancer, and later Victor saved Nicole from drowning; she later tried to thank him when she got some good news from Dr. Bader. Victor assured Kate that he would handle Sami. Eric decided to take matters into his own hands to clear Nicole's reputation, against Roman's wishes -- also keeping his actions secret from Greta. For different reasons, Bo and Lexie were suspicious of Stefano's interest and actions concerning their children. Alice was onto Craig. Shawn, Belle, and Chloe learned that Mimi and her family were homeless and lent their support.
July 17 to 21, 2000
Philip defended Chloe's honor. Alice started proceedings against Craig, but nurse Brenda warned the Wesleys. Craig and Nancy hatched a plan to rebuild their image. Shawn, Belle, Alice, and friends helped the Lockhart family get back their home. Rex finished off Nicole's finances. Nicole and Victor had a moment of mutual understanding. Eric told Nicole he knew her father was responsible for her past. Philip and Chloe grew closer, but Nancy still felt left out of Chloe's life. Nicole told Eric that Kate had paid her off to marry Lucas, but then lied to him about her medical condition just to gain his sympathy so he would make love to her and never let her go. Austin knew Sami was lying to him, and Greta had the same feelings about Eric. Victor had a plan to stay one step ahead of Sami and Brandon. Fay contacted Abe. Stefano was determined to get baby Isaac's DNA.
July 24 to 28, 2000
The Wesleys' plan to invite the Lockharts to live with them backfired, plus Mimi left town to avoid sharing a room with Chloe. Belle, Shawn, and company moved forward with their plan for the new Lockhart home. Sami and Brandon arrived in Italy, well aware that there was someone on their tail and trouble was not far behind them. Eric and Nicole made love, as Nicole manipulated Eric into her plan for ultimate happiness. Greta was devastated to learn about Eric and Nicole. Nicole told Lucas she was filing for divorce. Victor told Lucas to get his priorities straight, or the alternative was a life in prison. Lucas was driven to the bottle. Victor was waiting for the last laugh on an unsuspecting Nicole. Eric and Roman got into a terrible confrontation over Nicole, but later found a way to make peace with each other before Eric left Salem. Eric and Greta had a final, but disturbing, farewell. Greta accidentally saw Eric headed for a possible life-threatening situation.
July 31 to August 4, 2000
Eric's near-death experience changed the choices in his life as he left Nicole and Salem. Chloe misunderstood Philip's reasons for breaking their date, and turned to Shawn for comfort, much to Belle's dismay. Victor relished in Nicole's demise and learned more from Rex about her pornography past. Nicole encouraged Lucas to continue to drink -- so he would lose custody of Will, and Eric would hear of her good deed -- and lied to him about a possible reconciliation. Brandon decided to use his natural attributes to win over Angela and assured Sami they would get the information they needed on Kate and Lucas. A devastated Hope told Bo and Shawn that baby John had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and might have serious future medical problems. Isabella gave John some divine intervention regarding Brady. Marlena returned home and found John still obsessing about Hope and baby John. Kate's plan to have Philip mend her relationship with Victor backfired. The Wesleys continued to lie and manipulate the Lockhart situation and forced the board to place doubt on Alice's judgment.

John had some explaining to do when he "borrowed" baby John from Hope to get a DNA sample. Belle, Philip, and Shawn were perplexed over Chloe's behavior, as it seemed she was turning into the cruel person she disliked in everyone else. Nancy's problems with Chloe and Craig escalated, as Chloe and Craig seemed to draw closer. Fay couldn't seem to get to Abe, but connected with Roman to discuss Nicole's bad influence on Eric. Fay tried to defend Nicole to Roman. Roman walked in on Nicole and Rex as she continued to pressure Rex for her money. Lily returned to Salem to comfort Greta, as Greta prepared to tell Lucas the truth about Nicole and Eric's relationship. Dr. Rolf took matters into his own hands to get Isaac's DNA for Stefano. Stefano talked his way out of Isaac's "kidnapping scare," but Abe was furious and suspicious of Stefano. Dr. Rolf awaited the results of the paternity test.
August 14 to 18, 2000
Everyone was suspicious of John's attention to baby John. It was confirmed: John was the father of Isaac, Hope's biological child. Stefano and Dr. Rolf ensured that John received the correct results of his DNA. Greta decided not to tell Lucas about Eric and Nicole. John told Marlena about some of his past memories as a mercenary. Hope and Lexie planned a wedding. Chloe was turning into Salem's new "Sami Brady," but Philip was working on trying to draw out her kinder side. The groundbreaking began on the Lockhart house -- with a dash of danger lurking in the woods. Nicole got Lucas drunk, and he almost admitted to her that he had shot Franco. Meanwhile, Brandon and Sami made some progress with Angela in Italy, while Kate and Victor continued to struggle with their relationship and made plans to take care of Sami's meddling. Fay and Abe finally met again, and Abe learned some of the reasons for Brandon's revenge against him. Marlena accepted the offer as talk show host, while a familiar face, Hattie the waitress, had other plans to cut her career short.
August 21 to 25, 2000
Brandon and Sami learned from Angela that Roberto had not killed Franco. Nicole tried to tape a confession from Lucas that he had killed Franco after she convinced Lucas that he had assaulted her while in a drunken stupor. Lucas caught on just in time to not incriminate himself further. Victor revealed his "drug" plan to keep Sami under control. The Dr. Marlena Showwas a big hit with everyone except Hattie the waitress. Stefano was "interested" in Hattie. Nancy was caught up in "show business." Nicole teased Roman with information about Franco's murder that could win Sami custody of Will, and put Lucas in jail. Nicole learned Victor and Rex had out-scammed her, and was out for revenge. Eric got a dose of the real Nicole, and decided to end their relationship. Broke and in a jam, Nicole begged Greta to help save her marriage to Lucas. Lily decided to help Greta in more ways than one. Belle sought Marlena's advice after she was hurt, confused, and jealous over Chloe's indifference toward her and popularity.
August 28 to September 1, 2000
Greta was no match for Nicole, as Nicole got back on Lucas' good side. Nicole decided to let Victor and Rex think she had no idea she had been scammed as part of her revenge against them. Brandon dismissed Maroni's threats, and told Sami that he would marry Angela to get the goods on Lucas and Kate. Abe told Lexie about Fay, but not the entire story. Everyone in Salem started to notice Hattie's resemblance to Marlena, but Stefano was up to something as he had Dr. Rolf and Bart working on Hattie's "Marlena" makeover. Bo suggested to Hope that he might not be the father of baby John, but Hope wouldn't believe it, and then told Bo that they should have another child. Bo and Hope rekindled their love and romance. John's rude and impatient demeanor toward Abe and Roman concerning Brady's arrest and release concerned them. Brady's anger toward John continued. Lucas started his job at the restaurant and drugged Sami. Kate sent Sami on the "trip" of her life. Victor was encouraged about his medical problem. Belle was hurt and confused when Chloe stole the show and Belle's date on their "group get-together."

September 4 to 8, 2000
Belle sought Marlena's comfort after her "date" with Shawn. Shawn was confused, and later found Belle and apologized to her. Bo told Shawn and Caroline that he planned to go to Ireland to research the Brady and DiMera connection. Lexie and Abe learned about the mystery of baby John's paternity. Craig comforted Chloe, and Craig pressed Nancy for the identity of Chloe's father. Brady had a run-in with Craig and Nancy, and John and Marlena argued over his past. Marlena was upset and stunned when John told her he remembered being intimate with Princess Gina. The plan to get Sami back to Salem escalated to a dangerous breaking point as Brandon had almost all the evidence he needed from Angela to nail Kate and Lucas. Nicole got Victor's attention. Austin caught Sami in a lie. Hattie was fired from her job, and seriously considered Bart's offer for the "Dr. Marlena" makeover. Stefano began yet another plan to use Hattie as the wedge to drive Marlena and John apart and punish Marlena for not choosing him as her lover. Nancy tried to spice up the Dr. Marlena Showto drive up the ratings. John committed himself to Marlena and their unending love.
September 11 to 15, 2000
Austin told Roman that Sami was in Rome with Brandon, investigating Franco's murder. Greta learned she was to become a very wealthy princess, and then decided to accompany Austin to Rome to find Sami. Lucas saved Sami's life when she almost died from the herbs, and was furious at Kate and Victor for going too far with their scheme. Brandon told Sami that Angela had the tape that incriminated Kate in Franco's murder, and he might have to say "I do" to get the evidence. Roman rescued Hattie, and afterwards, she decided to go through with her transformation. Shawn Sr.'s high-level connection to the Irish "clan" was revealed, when Bo was reluctant to cancel his trip to Ireland to investigate the DiMera and Brady past. Stefano remembered a past injustice involving the Bradys. Philip and Chloe kissed and drew closer. Mimi told Belle about the bet. Shawn and Philip regretted their actions and considered admitting the truth to Chloe, but it might be too late as Jason and Jan prepared to spill the beans. Nancy was very upset to hear Craig and Chloe talking about her, and that Chloe was confiding in Craig and not her.
September 18 to 22, 2000
Brandon might be in deeper than he thought, as Angela suspected he might have ulterior motives to saying "I do." Greta learned the conditions of her inheritance and royalty, and sought Austin's help in Paris to uncover the mystery. Lucas, Kate, and Victor continued their plan to prevent Brandon and Sami from obtaining the evidence they needed to incriminate them all. Nicole had Victor's attention. Marlena fired Nancy, and then Nancy pitched the producer to replace Marlena. Hattie prepared to take over Marlena's life, and Stefano was delighted with his new scheme. Hope was concerned with John's attention to baby John, and then told Julie she feared that maybe she and John might have been together when she was Princess Gina. John told Marlena that he knew who the father of Hope's baby was. Brady lashed out at John and Marlena, and accused them of killing Isabella. Belle was devastated to learn of Shawn and Philip's bet; their efforts were in vain, as Chloe heard the awful truth first from Jan and friends.
September 25 to 29, 2000
Charles pushed both Greta and then Austin through a mysterious door, laughing hysterically. The doctor warned Hope and Lexie to watch J.T.'s breathing closely. Both women noted that John spent a great deal of time with the baby. Bo told Abe not to mention his trip to Lexie, because of Stefano. Abe was surprised Bo did not want to stay and bond with the baby. John and Brady argued, and Brady stormed out. Belle, Philip, Mimi, and Shawn went to the Lane home to try to explain, but they were too late, as Nancy told them Chloe had run away. Chloe was wandering around the docks, and began to sing. She heard a noise, asking who it was. John confessed to a shocked Marlena that he had slept with Hope and that his son was being raised in the Brady home.

Marlena and John were at odds with the problems in their life. Marlena felt Brady was a threat to their family. Belle and Brady bonded, and she took his side against Marlena. Chloe and Nancy reconciled. Philip won back Chloe's trust. Lucas was enraged at the lengths Kate and Victor had taken to remove Sami's threats against them. Nicole plotted against Victor. Nancy was convinced she could replace Marlena as talk show host. Roman got close with Hattie, and Stefano continued with his plan to switch Hattie with Marlena. John tried to settle his differences with Brady. Brandon saved Sami from certain death. Austin and Greta continued to battle their demons via their virtual reality test. Shawn tried to throw Bo off-track as he prepared to leave for Ireland.
October 9 to 13, 2000
Marlena met face-to-face with Hattie and remembered Sam. Brady pointed out Marlena's shortcomings to John. Belle fought with Marlena over Brady. Brady threatened Marlena. Belle confided in Shawn about Brady. Hope suspected that John knew the real father of baby John. Marlena was cold to Hope, and just couldn't seem to forgive John for his past life and betrayal. Philip serenaded Chloe. Chloe sought her mother's advice. Nicole told Roman and Abe her story about Franco's murder. Brandon saved Sami and openly accused Victor and Kate for her condition. Angela began to realize Brandon's love for Sami. Victor was disgusted with Kate's focus on marriage under the circumstances. Greta and Austin's test continued with a special message from Mrs. H. Marlena and John called a truce, but their lovemaking was interrupted by baby John's medical emergency. Brady challenged Belle to a dare at the train trestle. In Ireland, Bo's attack was witnessed by the unlikely and sudden appearance of Jennifer Horton Deveraux.
October 16 to 20, 2000
Bo was held captive in Ireland, while Hope, Shawn, friends, and family dealt with Johnny's medical emergency. Jennifer tried to help Bo without revealing her identity. Brady saved Belle's life, but Marlena was unforgiving of his involvement. Kate tried unsuccessfully to manipulate Angela against Brandon. Victor demanded Lucas give Sami custody of Will. Kate's desperation, anger, and disgust with Victor finally pushed him to admit his undying love for her. Nicole manipulated Lucas and Roman regarding the facts surrounding Franco's murder. Hope was told what should be her worst nightmare as the life of a child was lost. Marlena was overcome by John's apparent grief over Johnny and Belle's critical medical conditions. Angela prepared for her trip to America and walked down the aisle with Brandon.
October 23 to 27, 2000
Johnny had a miraculous recovery, and John seriously considered telling Hope that he was the baby's father -- against Marlena's wishes. Belle was out of immediate danger, but still in a medically induced coma. Philip and Chloe drew closer despite Nancy's warnings. Brandon and Sami tried to get Angela to surrender the tape before leaving for Salem, but Angela was not cooperating. Victor made arrangements to clear himself of Kate and Lucas's crimes. Marlena hired Roman to investigate Brady, placing her marriage to John in jeopardy. Belle's friends rallied at the hospital to celebrate her 16th birthday. Nicole blackmailed Lucas. John gained some insight into Brady's pain and torment. Roman told Marlena that he had incriminating evidence against Brady. Isaac and J.T. were baptized at the hospital. Bo finally called Hope, but her anger and hurt kept her from telling him about J.T.'s condition. In order to save Bo, Jennifer finally revealed her identity to him.
October 30 to November 3, 2000
Kate learned that Nicole knew the truth about Franco's murder. Brady went to Grandpa Victor for advice. John and Marlena continued to be at odds over Roman's investigation of Brady as a suspect in Belle's accident. Sami and Brandon told Angela about Franco's murder, and Kate and Lucas' plot to frame her. Chloe and Brady connected. Austin and Greta defeated Curtis' evil in their virtual reality test. Sami kissed Brandon and later told Roman about their progress in Franco's murder investigation while in Italy. Salemites dined out at Tuscany's with some nasty repercussions; Marlena set up Brady while occupying John's attention, Victor reprimanded Nicole for her behavior toward Fay, Hattie continued her education to become Dr. Marlena, and Brady's "trick or treat" for Marlena pushed John and Roman to tangle.

November 6 to 10, 2000
Roman arrested John and Brady after a brawl at Tuscany's. Sami tried to manipulate Angela to turn over the tape so Brandon could avoid marrying her, but Mr. Maroni had plans of his own for Brandon and Brandon's future with Maroni's daughter and the mob. Hattie learned more about Roman's former life with Marlena. Victor bailed out John and Brady. John apologized to Roman for his "mercenary" behavior. Roman told Marlena that he still had and always would have feelings for her. Marlena continued with her accusations against Brady, and was in a state of emotional confusion about her future with John. Alice remembered all the "days of her life" as well as those of friends and loved ones. Nicole made a serious play for Victor, and he seemed to enjoy every moment of the attention. Hope learned that Bo was not the father of her baby. Jennifer and Bo escaped, but the Irish Mafia and Stefano's people were hot on their trail. As Hope decided to leave Salem, thinking Stefano was J.T.'s daddy, an anxious John accidentally revealed to a horrified Hope that he was baby John's biological father.
November 13 to 17, 2000
Victor was exhilarated by his return to manhood compliments of Nicole and considered leaving Kate for his young conquest. Philip overheard Kate and Lucas discussing their financial security if something should happen to Victor. Nicole finally spilled the beans and told Lucas that Kate had paid her five million dollars to marry him so he could get custody of Will. A number of Salemites seemed to have Kate right where they wanted her. Hope taunted John about their past sexual encounter that had produced J.T., and forbade him to ever tell Bo the truth, as it could ruin everyone's happiness. Chloe tried to help an injured Brady as he continued to evade the law. Roman comforted Marlena while John tended to his injured and fugitive son -- and continued to keep his whereabouts a secret from everyone. Belle awakened with no recollection of the accident. Bo and Jen met danger on the high seas as they headed for safe harbor. Brandon went wild and attacked Abe when he saw Fay with Abe at the diner. Angela put Brandon and Sami to the test, and they failed when they were caught red-handed trying to steal the tape before Brandon was forced to marry Angela.
November 20 to 24, 2000
Bo and Jennifer buried a friend or foe at sea and then dealt with another life-threatening emergency. Marlena lost her cool with everyone. Brady became a fugitive -- with Roman, Abe, and John on his trail. Belle couldn't remember anything about the accident. Nancy's tough love act as substitute host for the Dr. Marlena Show made a big hit in the ratings, and she couldn't wait to tell the entire hospital of her newfound success. Hattie underwent plastic surgery and had a disturbing encounter with Marlena. Belle was released from the hospital. At Thanksgiving dinner, Philip blasted Victor about why he hadn't married Kate and his insensitivity toward her. Brandon was forced to make love to Angela, as Sami and Nicole worked on Lucas.
November 27 to December 1, 2000
Belle remembered that Brady had saved her life, but not in time, as Abe shot Brady in what he thought was self-defense. Marlena was overcome by Belle's news and that Brady was in the hospital and might be paralyzed. Abe thought history was repeating itself, and couldn't forgive himself, while somehow Marlena still thought Belle might be covering for Brady. Lexie comforted Abe with prayer. Bo, Jennifer, and Abby were rescued at sea, and met up with Doug and Julie as they all prepared to return to Salem. Victor and Kate made love, but Victor couldn't stop thinking about Nicole, who Kate saw leave his bedroom. Hope planned her wedding. Brandon made love to Angela to get her to keep her end of the bargain. Kate and Vincent saw Sami and Brandon together as he was professing his love for her. Jason, Jan, and Mimi made Philip think the worst of Shawn and Chloe. Austin and Greta prepared to return to Salem. Belle and Brady bonded as Marlena's efforts to talk to an angry and hurt John were ignored.

Marlena confided in Maggie and just about went over the emotional edge after getting the cold shoulder and anger from both John and Belle over the entire tragedy with Brady. Nancy took over Marlena's show, to Chloe's embarrassment. Julie, Doug, Bo, Jennifer, and Abby returned home to Salem and the Horton clan. John made amends with Abe, but was out to get Roman. After an emotional encounter with Nicole and Brandon over the truth about her affair with Abe, Fay sought Abe's help with Brandon. Stefano was concerned over Lexie's inquiries about Marlo. Nicole and Victor played hanky-panky under Kate's nose. Chloe's got her revenge on Jan and Mimi. Shawn and Belle had a special moment. Hattie was looking more and more like "Doc." Hope learned more about her past as Princess Gina and then told Bo that she knew that he was not J.T.'s father.
December 11 to 15, 2000
John forgave Marlena and told her that he still loved her, but they had to work out their problems. Marlena couldn't seem to forgive herself. Bo was shocked to learn that Hope knew he was not J.T.'s biological father. Abe told Lexie about his affair with Fay, as Brandon told Sami the same secret. Austin and Greta continued fighting off their "virtual" demons. Bo was suspicious of John's attachment to J.T. Hope took control and stopped John "dead in his tracks" from telling Bo the truth about J.T. John blamed Marlena for promising Hope to keep J.T.'s birthright a secret from Bo. Belle and Shawn disagreed with Chloe's style of "don't get mad, get even" philosophy towards Jan and Mimi. Hattie was transformed into a replica of Marlena, all to Stefano's delight. Brady took Victor's advice regarding therapy.
December 18 to 22, 2000
Brady's arrival home accentuated Marlena's guilt over the accident, and she decided that leaving the house would help Brady heal faster. Vincent had Kate and Victor where he wanted them. Chloe got her revenge on Mimi, but put Nancy's life in jeopardy. Maggie hosted a grand engagement/bachelor party for Bo and Hope at Tuscany in real old-fashioned Brady/Horton style. Maggie convinced John and Marlena to make an appearance, which seemed to cause more hurt than joy. John told Roman to stay out of his life and away from his wife. Belle forsook fun with the gang to stay with Brady. Brandon was curious about Jennifer, and Alice warned her to stay away from him. Alice took over the Horton tradition for the hospital Christmas story. Nicole gave Lucas divorce papers for Christmas -- as Sami prepared a victory celebration. Lucas had his own plans with Will.
December 25 to 29, 2000
The Hortons celebrated another Christmas together. After a number of unusual pre-wedding incidents, Bo and Hope finally said "I do" officially for the third time at a beautiful ceremony with family and friends. The reception was packed with all kinds of activity, including Bo and Hope's formal first dance, Brady men dancing to Irish classics, and good news of Brady's recovering the use of his legs. John and Marlena struggled to keep their marriage and family together. Hope pleaded with John to keep their secret from Bo. Bo and Jennifer verbally attacked Marlena. Marlena was close to an emotional breakdown, and despite Nancy's plea, Mimi and Jan were determined to ruin Chloe, as she and Philip drew closer at the pond. Austin fought his final challenge for Greta in their "virtual reality" arena. Sami lost control of the tape as Angela sided with Vincent. Fay warned Brandon to stop his vendetta against Abe.
