Born with aplastic anemia
Baby Thomas was born under duress, when Ben Weston (who believed he was Thomas's father) kidnapped Abigail and she went into labor early. After he was born, Ben kidnapped Thomas (whom he called Colin) and left Abigail to die.
J.J. tracked down "Colin" and brought him home to Abigail. Tests proved he was Chad's son. Abigail renamed him Thomas Jack Deveraux.
