General Hospital's throwback episodes during the coronavirus are proving to be quite a treat for Sonny fans. The character, famously played by Maurice Benard, will once again be front and center for an entire five days. The week of June 1, currently playing out on-screen, centers on the mob boss's epic romance with Carly (Laura Wright), and now, the ABC soap opera has announced that the week of June 29 will feature episodes dedicated to some of Sonny's most memorable moments as a father.
As reported by Soap Central last fall, GH previously released a collection of episodes dedicated to Sonny as a father -- which made sense, considering the loving and protective dad has so many kids! In addition to his latest offspring, baby Donna, he's dad to Dante Falconeri, Michael Corinthos, Kristina Davis, the late Morgan Corinthos, and Avery Jerome. He was also poised to raise Lila McCall, who died during birth in 2004, two miscarried babies with Carly and Claudia, and a baby Lily Rivera was carrying when she died in a car explosion in 1996.

With its bank of new, pre-COVID episodes coming to an end, GH began airing classic episodes on Monday, May 25, when the show kicked off three weeks of Nurses Ball moments that continued to June 12. The current week of throwback episodes, which began Monday, June 15, features Carly and Sonny's romance, while the week of Monday, June 22, will center on loving moments between Jason (Steve Burton) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) -- including the 2003 episode in which the characters first met.
At this time, it's unclear when General Hospital will resume production and bring new material to viewers, but new measures set forth by California allowed shows to start filming again on Friday, June 12.
