Poor, poor Harrison Chase. The General Hospital character currently has no idea what's hurtling down the pipeline for him, but it's only a matter of time before his whole world falls apart.
The lovesick detective, played by Josh Swickard, is thrilled that he's finally married to Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). But what he doesn't realize (yet) is that Willow, who is truly in love with Michael (Chad Duell), only married him because she thought he was dying, and she wanted to give him a happy sendoff to the great beyond. There's no denying that it's really good thing that Chase lived, but he might wish he were dead once the truth about his marriage comes to light.
"I don't know how Chase will react but I can't see that situation going over well for anyone, regardless of their temperament," Swickard muses in an interview with TV Insider.
Some fans believe that while Chase will have the right to feel hurt about what Willow has done, he won't really have the right to get angry because he himself has faked being in love for the good of another person. But are Willow's actions comparable to when Chase and Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) lied about being together so Michael could beat Nelle (Chloe Lanier) in the custody battle over Wiley (Erik and Theo Olson)?
"It's not the same particular history but it's not totally different, either," Swickard says. "You can definitely argue what Chase and Sasha did was different but Willow is doing what she is for the right reasons, too. Chase might handle it better than the average Joe would because of what he's been through but he might not handle it all that well. That's my guess."
Of course, there's still the possibility that Chase and Willow's marriage won't have a messy ending, because Willow may realize that she does indeed still carry a torch for Chase. Though Katelyn MacMullen told Soap Central that she is pretty sure that Willow loves Michael and only Michael, she did say that her alter ego's feelings could change because she's spending so much time with Chase.
As for Swickard, he won't believe that Chase and Willow are over until, well, they're over! "I think there's always going to be something between [them]," he teases. "I am wondering where the writers will take this."
