Julia Rose Buchheit (Barr)
Born Julia Rose Buchheit on February 8, 1949, Julia grew up as a single child in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She made her acting debut at the age of 13 in a production of Peter Pan. Julia eventually decided to pursue acting as a career. By the time she graduated from college at Indiana University-Purdue University Fort Wayne, she had performed in 25 professional productions. She spent two years at the Studio Arena Theater in Buffalo, New York.
Barr's first entry into the world of daytime drama came in the form of bad girl Rennie Szabo on Ryan's Hope. Soon after, Barr was invited to join the cast of All My Children, succeeding Elissa Leeds in the role of Broke English. Barr's work on All My Children garnered her eight Daytime Emmy nominations and two Daytime Emmy wins -- 1990 and 1998's Outstanding Supporting Actress trophies
Among AMC trivia that fans may not know about Julia are two fun nuggets: Barr was once a vocalist in a band that she formed with Richard Shoberg (Tom Cudahy). In an addition scene, Barr played the role of Erica Kane opposite David Canary, who was testing for the role of Adam Chandler.
