Zach asked Livia to file a motion to get him out of jail. Livia wasn't sure that the plan would work, but said that with suspicion surrounding Braden, there was a slight chance that he might get out. Zach explained that he needed to make sure that no one brought harm to Lily.
Ryan ran into a former teacher at the airport and seemed frustrated that the teacher had done little to help Jonathan after he had fled home.
A scared Lily dropped her keys in the hallway outside of Greenlee's loft. Jonathan heard the noise and raced out to tell her that she needed to go back home – and quickly. Lily did as she was told and ran back to Jackson's apartment. Once inside, she told Jack and Reggie that while at Greenlee's loft she saw the man who had killed Edmund. Jack had Reggie call the police and then raced off to Greenlee's penthouse.
In the penthouse, Jonathan talked to an icy Braden. Braden demanded to know more about Lily Montgomery. By the time Jack got to the penthouse, no one was there.
At Fusion, Greenlee and Kendall unleashed their anger with Danielle and Simone caught in the crossfire. Kendall was furious for Greenlee for trying to cause trouble in her relationship with Ethan. Greenlee, meanwhile, insisted that Ethan was using Kendall because he'd sworn on his love for Kendall that Zach really killed Edmund. Using Greenlee's logic, since Zach didn't kill Edmund that meant that Ethan didn't really love Kendall. Jack phoned to tell Greenlee to make sure that she was okay. When she learned that Lily had spotted Braden at the loft, Greenlee again told Kendall that Ethan was a liar. A furious Kendall stormed out of the office. Later, in another phone call with Jack, Greenlee learned that Braden's fingerprints had been found at her condo.
Erica tried to get Ethan to admit that he didn't see Zach kill Edmund, pointing out that there was no one else around to hear his confession. Ethan became cold and warned Erica that if she continued to press her crusade against him, he would make sure that Kendall turned her back on her forever. After Erica left, Ethan went to his office and called someone to help him handle Erica.
Kendall showed up at Jack's loft apartment to confront Lily about her claims that she saw Braden kill Edmund. Reggie tried to get Kendall to back off, but Kendall continued to order Lily to say that Zach killed Edmund. Jack and Erica entered and begged Kendall to stop harassing Lily. Kendall was curious, saying that she was tired of Lily being treated as some sort of "sacred oracle." Before storming out, Kendall vowed that she would help Ethan bring Erica down.
Alone at Fusion, Greenlee left a romantic message for Ryan on his cell phone telling him how much she missed him. She then put on headphones to listen to her favorite tunes. Behind her, the elevator door open and someone slowly made their way towards her.
J.R. pays Ethan a visit at his office and overhears him on the phone saying that he has information to bring Erica down. Ethan tells J.R. that he hates his father enough to do whatever it takes to destroy him. Kendall walked into the office and heard their conversation. She wanted Ethan to define "whatever it takes." JR flattered her, and told her not to listen to her family knowing that Ethan is lying through his teeth. He left and Kendall ended up in Ethan's arms again. J.R. wants Kendall for himself and he told Adam that he will have her. He is just waiting for the truth to come out about Ethan and when it does, he knows Kendall will fall apart and he will be there to pick up the pieces.
Lily and Reggie heard Erica, Jack and Kendall arguing about Ethan outside the door. Jack and Erica continued to try to convince Kendall that Ethan is a liar, but anything they said fell on deaf ears. Kendall left in a huff. Lily again told Reggie that she made no mistake when she saw Braden hit the man walking out of his wheelchair. The detective who was upstairs in Greenlee's apartment to catch Braden came to interrogate Lily. Erica let Lieutenant Perry in to try to question Lily, but she only wanted to talk about getting a dog. The lieutenant said that Lily will not be a credible witness because it is so hard to connect with her.
Greenlee, sitting at her desk at Fusion with headphones on (with ominous music playing in the background) jumped out of her skin when Jonathan tapped her on the shoulder. He told her that Ryan had been in Iowa looking for Braden. He wanted Greenlee to know that he is just pretending to be on Braden's side to keep Ryan safe. Jonathan let Greenlee know that Braden was meeting Ryan tonight but he is going with him. She wanted to know where Ryan was but Jonathan wouldn't tell her to keep her safe. He insisted on going after Braden alone. Greenlee told him he's as insane as Braden. Jonathan grabbed her arm and told her never to say that again just as Jack appeared. Greenlee told him that Jonathan knows where Braden is. Jack goes after Jonathan but he outran Jack and disappeared. Jack grabbed Greenlee and took her back to his apartment. Jack held a family meeting and told Lily that he was sending her back to her old school. Lily freaked out but Greenlee reassured her that is was a good idea. Jack told Greenlee he was glad to hear that she thought it was a good idea for Lily to leave for a few weeks, because she was going with her. Surprise! Greenlee told Jack and Erica there was no way in hell she was leaving while some madman was trying to kill her husband. She stormed out.
At tempo, Brooke gazes at a photo of Edmund. Jamie showed up for a visit to check on Brooke. He sees the dedication on the cover that is about to be published and feels for Brooke. He pulls out chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream to make her feel better. Jamie told Brooke that he and Babe are staying together although they have no plans to marry immediately.
David and Adam met for a drink but couldn't come to terms about their deal. Babe walked in because she was answering a help-wanted ad for a waitress. She wanted to know what the two of them could possibly have to talk about. Adam left and Babe asked David what was going on. David told her that they have to find Liza and Colby to protect them from Adam. David lied and told Babe that Adam was hot on Liza's trail and she must be warned. Babe tried to call Tad to let him know the situation but could not reach him. David told her that there wasn't time for that and asked if she could get in touch with Liza and Colby without Tad. Babe admitted that Colby called her and she still had the phone number. Babe called Liza and told her what David said. David quizzed her about the conversation and found out that Liza still planned to stay put. When babe left the table to talk to the owner about the waitress job, David immediately grabbed her phone to get Liza's number. When Babe returned to the table she was excited because she got the waitress job she wanted.
Kendall has a surprise gourmet meal prepared for Ethan in his office. She hears someone enter the room behind her and thinks it's him. After making a flirty comment, she turns around and finds Zach sitting there. She accuses him of escaping from police custody. He informs her that he has made bail. When she makes a comment about lies, he mentions the lies that Ethan had been telling. She starts to protest, but he tells her that although love is a great thing, she should come up for air and get a reality check. She tells him that he messed with her mother's mind and confused her and Lily into believing that he is innocent. He replies that Erica is to smart for that and isn't afraid of the truth. She calls him a coward. He tells her that she is playing high-stakes poker...she has to trust that Ethan is telling the truth and is scared to death because she could lose everything. She argues that she does trust Ethan and her family doesn't understand him. She asks him why he is there. He says that the truth will come out and she needs to deal with it. She tells him to eat up...it may be his last good meal. She then leaves. Zach gets ready to leave and runs into a surprised Maria in the doorway.
As they eat breakfast, Adam talks to J.R. about his pursuit of Kendall. Adam asks why he is interested in her. J.R says that Adam told him to find someone who is gorgeous, classy and high-profile...Kendall is all of these things. Adam replies that there is high-profile and then there is "Kane." He reminds J.R. that she is closely involved with Ethan. J.R. says that he can handle Ethan. They are interrupted by Adam's cell phone, who happens to be David. He tells him that he knows where to find Liza and Colby. Adam pretends that David is a business associate and says that they should close the deal today and he will contact his people. David tells him to keep it between them and wants to take care of this now. David starts to give Adam another condition, but the phone is ripped out of his hand by Jamie. Adam wonders why they were disconnected, but tells a curious J.R. that is was a bad connection. J.R. starts to inquire about the call. Adam changes the subject and tells him that if he wants Kendall, than go for it. J.R. is suspicious, but Adam leaves before he can say anything more. Later, Kendall shows up upset by her talk with Zach. J.R. asks her what is wrong. She doesn't answer. He pulls her into an embrace and asks if she is upset because Ethan lied to her.
David asks Jamie what the hell he is doing. Jamie calls him a traitor and asks if he really thought that he was going to get away with it. David plays dumb. Jamie tells him that Babe told him about David and Adam's meeting the night before. Jamie has put it all together and knows that David is pumping them for information on Liza and Colby. He asks David what Adam has promised him to turn on Liza. David doesn't reply. Jamie goes on to say that whatever Adam promised him, he won't go through with it once he has Colby. David tells him that whatever he may be doing is entirely for his daughter's sake and Jamie can't stop him. Just then, Babe walks into David's cabin and tells him that she can stop him. David tries to explain to her that he is doing this so that she can have more time with her son. She tells him that she doesn't want Liza to lose Colby because of her mistakes. She mentions that Stuart gave her advice that she intends to take. At that moment, Adam walks in and says that his brother is as innocent as a child and in the real world, nice just doesn't fly. Adam wants to know if they have a deal. Babe threatens David that if he goes through with betraying the woman that helped her and Jamie, she will never speak to him again. David gives up and leaves without giving Adam what he wants. Later, Jamie leaves to get some work done while Babe stays to clean up David's place. Adam returns and tries to get Babe to cooperate. When she doesn't, he tells her that she will end up being a stranger in her son's life and it's simple...if he gets his child back, she'll get hers. He leaves and she sits down, upset by what he said.
Jackson returns home worried that he can't find Greenlee. He tells Erica that there is no sign of a struggle in her deserted apartment, but Braden could still have her. He is angry at Ryan for dragging his daughter into danger. Erica suggests that she might have gone on an emergency business trip. Jackson is doubtful that she would just leave in the middle of the night to do so. Erica tells him that she had to do it all of the time, but admits that she would have told her family where she was going. She tries to cheer him up by giving him a kiss. They are interrupted by Lily, who says that Greenlee ran away because she doesn't want to go to Lily's old school. Lily says that she also doesn't want to go, but she isn't going to run away...she will take the bus. They notice that she is carrying a suitcase and Jackson tells her that he can't let her do that. She gets upset and starts doing a math problem in her head. She keeps saying that she is getting it wrong and has to go back to the beginning. As she continues to redo the problem, Erica realizes what is bothering her. She tells him that they need to tell Lily the truth and sits down to talk to her. She tells her that she has something scary to tell her. She makes Lily understand that there is a bad man that wants to hurt her and they want to keep her safe by hiding her at her old school. Lily is relieved that she is being sent away because she is in danger, not because she was bad. She agrees to go, but wants to get a dog when she comes back. They happily agree and Erica cheers her up further by showing her a sketch of her bridesmaid dress.
Ryan, Tad and Aidan arrive at a building that fits Braden's clues. It is on a boardwalk by both of the cafés that Braden and Jonathan met at. Aidan notices that the lock on the door is missing. Tad suggests that he go first, but Ryan tells him that he'll go first because it's his brother and to just get his back. They enter the dark building and find Greenlee, who is hiding behind some boxes. Ryan asks her if she is o.k. She replies that she is now and they embrace. He asks how she found them. She tells them about the matchbook that she found in Jonathan's stuff with the name of the café next door. She went there, scoped the area out and knew where to go. Tad tells them to go outside and talk while he and Aidan search the place carefully. Outside, he tells her that he loves her, but he is mad that she came and put herself in danger. She tells him that Jonathan is with Braden, pretending to be on his side to help Ryan. He is worried and tells Greenlee that she shouldn't be there. She informs that she is not safe at home, either, and tells him about Braden being in her old apartment. When Ryan says that he wants her with Jackson, she tells him about his plan to send her with Lily to her old school. Ryan likes that plan, but Greenlee would rather stay there with him. They are interrupted by Tad, who tells Ryan that he should come inside and see what they discovered. They go back in and look at a shrine that has been made with family pictures and articles of Ryan. The wall behind it says "He's not my father" in red paint...with the word "not" being crossed out. Ryan walks over to it and then looks at Greenlee. She yells at him to stop it because she not leaving him. He tells her that he needs her safe. She says that she needs him alive. Tad grabs her by the arm and drags her out of there. Outside, Tad makes Greenlee realize that if Braden had gotten to her first, he could have used her as bait to lure Ryan out and kill him. Ryan comes out and they share a tender moment as they say goodbye. She tells him that he won't have to worry about her and makes him promise to come back to her just as he is. Aidan calls Jackson, telling him that Greenlee is there and safe. He goes on to say that he is bringing her home and that he found some pills on the shrine that are the same kind used to drug Greenlee. After they are gone, Ryan receives a phone call from Braden.
In prison, Diana shows Krystal a newspaper article about Zach's bail. She tells her that she thought she could use some news from home. Krystal becomes suspicious of all of the help that Diana has given her and wants to know what she wants in return. She says that Krystal has been visited by one hunk after another and she wants an introduction next time. Krystal is amused that she'd be interested in J.R. or Tad. Diana wants to know what they are like. Krystal tells her that there are two things to know about the rich and famous Pine Valley...only believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. She tells her a little bit about the Chandlers. When she is done, she asks Diana about herself. She makes an excuse and leaves without telling her anything. Just then, Krystal gets a visit from David. He tells her what happened with Babe and Adam. She yells at him for being stupid and tells him that he should respect what their daughter wants. As she tears into him, he becomes distracted when Diana walks back into the room. He seems to recognize her.
Maria walks into Ethan's office and finds Zach there. She inquires as to how he could be there when he is supposed to be in jail, and whether or not they dropped the charges. Zach tells her that the charges are still pending, but that they will be dropped because he didn't kill Edmund. Not surprisingly, Maria doesn't believe him. She tells him that his retraction is meaningless because he already confessed in gross detail how he killed Edmund. Zach tells her that he told her what she wanted - what she needed - to hear. Maria then asks him what the breaking point is - when will she have lost enough to satisfy him? He tells her that it isn't about her - but she refuses to believe that, because it's been about her since he arrived in Pine Valley. He takes that in for a moment, and then tells her that he learned a couple things in prison: who his friends are, and that the truth doesn't matter. Maria retorts that the truth does matter - and not only is it what landed him in jail, it's what will put him back there. Zach asks her why she still needs him - the man she shared a bed with - to be a cold blooded killer and a liar. Unprepared, Maria blows off the question and asks where Ethan is. Zach thinks that she needs Ethan to reassure her once again that Zach is the one who committed the crime. She admits that she needs to see him so that she can obtain the disc Zach was originally going to give to her. He tells her that the disc has been destroyed and that Ethan is the one who did it - because he needs her to hate Zach. Maria again says that she doesn't believe him - and Zach, who seemed to know this was coming, says that she never did. Just then, Ethan appears at the door to his office.
Zach takes the liberty of catching his son up to speed by saying that Maria came for the disc. Ethan is forced to admit that he destroyed it, and Zach quips that they should make a note of that - it's something he didn't lie about. Ignoring her old flame, Maria asks Ethan why, and if there was another copy. Ethan reminds her that she asked him to get rid of it, because she had no need for it. Zach pipes up from behind her and asks his son if he revealed everything that was on the disc. Trying to cover his trail, Ethan admits that there was more on the disc than he originally revealed. Ethan launches into another story about how Edmund was in the wheelchair but that he wasn't alone. There was a casino employee with him and she was all over him. According to Ethan, the last thing that was on the disc before it went to black was the employee trying to kiss Edmund. Ethan believes it ended that way because Zach didn't want her to see Edmund pushing the employee away. He says that Zach's goal was to set the scene and make it appear as if Edmund was deceiving her. He goes on to extol Edmund's virtues, and says that he didn't tell her everything because he didn't see the need to pile garbage on top of her heartache. He tells Maria that he wanted to help preserve her husband's memory, and he insists that she not let Zach's ploys destroy that for her. Zach, who had been sitting by, quietly for the most part, applauds his son for his brilliant deception. Maria asks if it's true - and Zach tells her to make that the last time she asks him that question. Zach tells Maria that she always asks that question - but it's useless because she only agrees to what she wants to be true. Edmund the saint - because Maria said it was true. Zach the killer, and Ethan the eye witness - because Maria said it was true. He asks her what she wants the truth to be about the disc - because in the end, that's all that matters. Ethan starts to step in and come to her rescue, but Zach soundly shuts him down by saying that he wasn't speaking to his son. He tells his son that he has done the Cambias name proud and then he politely excuses himself from the room.
In the library at the Chandler mansion, Kendall's feathers are ruffled because JR effortlessly takes his place at the end of a long line of people that believe Ethan lied to her. She stands by her man and repeats the story of what Ethan saw the night Edmund was murdered. JR is perfectly willing to let her do that, but admits that he wants what is best for her. She insists that she doesn't need a protector, and he counters by saying that he isn't trying to be one. He claims to be looking out for her best interests, and seals it with a kiss. She lets the kiss linger for a moment, and then wrenches out of JR's embrace. She expresses her outrage at his attempt to derail her from the accusations that he laid before her moments before. She calls him out as a liar, which JR doesn't deny. He goes farther and says that not only has she rearranged a fact or two when it was convenient, but Ethan has done his fair share of lying - and he has done it well so far. He is surprised, however, that Kendall hasn't picked up on Ethan's indiscretions. Kendall is indignant over the fact that JR won't let up. She then says that JR's motive is that he wants her. JR doesn't even bother to deny that. He then says that she can defend Ethan all she wants - but that one day she will wake up and find that she fell for another man she couldn't trust. When that day comes, he'll be waiting for her. Infuriated, Kendall storms out.
At the jail, Di listens in as Krystal tears into David for his plan to work with Adam. She reminds him that if he plays a hand with Adam, nothing good will end up happening. Further, she tells him that if Babe gets hurt by any deals that he makes, David will have to contend with Krystal. However, nothing seems to be sinking in because David's attention is fixed on Di. Krystal tries to redirect his attention to the subject at hand, but to no avail. He starts to give Krystal the third degree about the mysterious prisoner, but only gets a first and last name. After that, Krystal suggests asking Di the questions directly. She asks if David knows her, but he admits only that Di looks like someone he used to know. Krystal reminds him in a not so gentle way that all the women in orange are doing hard time - so if he wants a girlfriend, he should look elsewhere. He responds by saying that that he made his choice, and looks at her pointedly. She brings on another reminder and tells him that her heart belongs to Tad, but that she told him to stay away because she's off the market. David tells her that she won't be in there forever, and that he will be waiting for her with Babe, Little Adam and champagne when she finally emerges. Mildly exasperated, she tries to get him back on track by admonishing him for the plot he hatched up with Adam. She tells him that he should have felt badly for offering up Colby in exchange for Little Adam. David tries to tell her not to worry about it, but Krystal wants details. Just then, the guard tells them that their time is up. Krystal wants him to give her a quick breakdown, but David uncharacteristically says that he can't break the rules. He starts to walk out, and Krystal looks over her shoulder to see Di watching everything. A short time later, Di joins Krystal in a game of Rummy. They talk briefly about David, and how he recognized Di - but she blows it off as having a recognizable face. Krystal tries to dig for more info but Di expertly skirts the issue. Krystal comments on how Di knows how to keep things private - even after Krystal laid her soul bare. Unwilling to let one morsel drop, Di just asks for the cards so that she can pick their next game.
Jack opens the door at his apartment and finds Greenlee and Aidan on the other side. After expressing his utter relief at her return, Jack asks Greenlee to fill him in on where Ryan is and if Braden is with him. To Erica's dismay, Greenlee says that she can't tell him anything because Ryan needs to handle things one on one with Braden. Jack is exasperated and demands that his daughter give up the details so that he can get the cops involved and get everything taken care of. Greenlee informs him that the only person who can get close enough to Braden is Ryan - and that's why he has to do this on his own. Tearing up, she tells her father that she is ready to go with Lily to her school, and that she will stay there until Ryan calls her and tells her that it's safe to come home. Jack's expression softens as she admits how much she hates that her husband will have to be bait, and how much he will have to relive to take care of everything. As Jack embraces his daughter in a comforting hug, Erica approaches Aidan and says that she doesn't think Ryan can do this alone. Aidan reminds her that Tad is with Ryan. Before she can protest further, Lily emerges from her bedroom, dressed in a trench coat and fedora. She believes that this will help her be incognito as she travels back to the school. Just then, Jack releases his oldest daughter from his embrace and goes to call the school. Erica takes this moment to offer some words of comfort to Greenlee. Greenlee doesn't think Erica is being honest and this offends Erica, causing her to fall back into old habits. She tells Greenlee that everything will be over soon, and she will go right back to hating her as much if not more than before.
Aidan talks to Lily briefly - thanking her for being such a good friend and partner for a while, and telling her to take care of herself while she is away at school. He is then interrupted by a phone call from Steve, one of his men that he has on the case. He speaks with him for a moment, and then informs Jack that the car has arrived to take Lily and Greenlee away. Before Greenlee goes upstairs to pack her things, roles shift as she reassures Jack that she will be fine and so will Ryan. Reading the expression on his face, Greenlee then tells Jack to stop blaming the situation on Ryan. Jack says that if Ryan hadn't covered for Braden all those years ago, they wouldn't be in the situation. Greenlee counters and says that while Jonathan is a mess and Braden is psycho, Ryan isn't the same man he used to be.
Ryan talks with Braden via cell phone while at the warehouse. He demands that the games end, but Braden replies that they have just begun. This isn't good enough for Ryan and he tells his brother that if he wants him, he'll come get him - tonight. Ryan flies off the handle at his brother - calling him a weak coward for taking out all of his frustrations with their father on him - not directly, but through people weaker than him. He throws down the gauntlet, sounding very much like their father, daring Braden to meet him face to face and finish things once and for all. Ryan abruptly ends the call and Tad, who listened wordlessly, finally speaks up. He says that if what he heard was at all similar to what Patrick Lavery used to spew, he would be messed up as well. He goes to touch his friend on the arm as a gesture of understanding and is met with Ryan, who is wrapped up in the memories, violently jerking back and yelling that he is not to be touched. He starts to trash the warehouse and almost throws a punch at Tad before Tad breaks through and reminds him where he is. He tells Ryan that he needs to keep his cool because that is the exact opposite of what Braden wants him to do. He then tells Ryan it's up to him if he wants to be the victorious one in this whole mess - or if he wants to check out of the world 50 years too early. Ryan mulls it over for a moment before he admits his worst fear: "I am my father." Tad refutes that immediately and says that Ryan is just a good man trying to crawl his way out from underneath a bad legacy. Just then, Ryan's cell phone rings, and when he answers it, Braden tells him that he's coming. After the call concludes, Tad hands a gun over to Ryan. Ryan starts to say that he doesn't need it - but Tad refuses to take it back. Tad says that he will not be the one to tell Greenlee that she is a widow again because Ryan wanted to play the hero. He then starts to leave so that he can cover the back entrance before Braden arrives, and Ryan calls out that the Lavery brothers used to be about bunk beds and trading cards, not bullets and guns. Tad reminds him that this isn't about yesterday, but rather today, tomorrow, and the future that Ryan deserves with Greenlee. At that moment in her apartment, Greenlee slowly packs a picture of her and her husband in with her clothes.
A short time late, back downstairs, Jack and Erica say their goodbyes to Lily and Aidan promises Greenlee that he will make sure Ryan stays safe. They gather their things and head down to the car with the driver. Once gone, Erica quickly excuses herself so that Jack and Aidan can talk. They briefly discuss the medicine that Aidan found at the shrine to Ryan - the same medicine used to poison Greenlee. He says that the medicine - combined with the knife used to stab Jonathan, the bomb at Edmund's funeral and the slug from Ryan's shooting - will all be a part of the mounting evidence against Braden at trial. Frustrated, Jack says that it all means nothing if they can't find Braden and bring him in. He demands that Aidan tell him where Ryan and Tad are so that he can handle Braden himself. Aidan tells him that if Braden smells a set up, he will stay gone - and all their plans are for naught. Erica reemerges at this moment and tells her fiancé that Aidan is right. They already have the best expert on the case: Ryan. Still agitated, Jack reminds them that Braden almost killed one of his daughters, and terrorized another. He refuses to let that happen again.
In the car on the way to the school, Lily tells Greenlee all of the things that they need to do to keep a low profile, like wearing wigs and taking on an alias. Greenlee flips out at the suggestion, saying that she doesn't need an alias - she is Ryan's wife, and she needs to be with him. Lily automatically recognizes this as a meltdown, and offers her system of counting backwards in order to remain calm. At first, Greenlee ignores the suggestion, but after some prodding, joins in. They conclude the counting, and Greenlee seems a bit calmer. Just then, there is a loud bang and the car starts to skid. Once it comes to a stop, they get out and are met by the driver. He explains that it was simply a blowout and that he will have it fixed in no time. Lily suggests that she and Greenlee stand behind some bushes off the side of the road, so as to be less conspicuous. Once hidden, Greenlee apologizes for her outburst. Lily recognizes that Greenlee was overwhelmed, and says she understands. Just then, they hear a noise that sounds like someone knocked the driver out. They rush to see what happened.
Simone comes storming into the Fusion offices, ready to throw herself into a work-related problem. She sees Kendall and hopes that she is on board to help. Kendall immediately starts talking about how she had been wronged again, but Simone tries to get her on track with business. Kendall, in her normal self-absorbed manner, will have none of it. Giving up, Simone asks about the current crisis. Kendall asks if she can guess what JR had the nerve to say to her. When Simone guesses correctly (that JR called Ethan a liar), Kendall gets even more ticked off. Simone tells Kendall that she needs to calm down - after all, she believes her boyfriend...who cares what other people think? Kendall says that she cares because every word against him hurts Ethan. Simone tells her to take control back - shut the grapevine down. Kendall is at a loss as to how to do that. Simone tells her to get a hold of David's truth serum and have a little fun. Kendall says that she tried testing Ryan and that blew up in her face - she isn't going to do that with Ethan. Simone asks if she's afraid of losing Ethan or finding out the truth. Kendall states that she has the truth - no tricks, and no drugs. She then cops an attitude and says that Simone shouldn't be trying to give advice. In an effort to avoid the fight they are clearly headed toward, Simone gathers her things and goes to work in the back room. Kendall mutters to herself that she has the truth.
Back at the Chandler library, JR is sitting on the couch with his son when David enters the room. JR demands that he leave because David has no legal right (according to the custody agreement) to random visitation. David promises that JR will be interested in what he has to say, but JR is doubtful. He tells JR that Adam was willing to trade Little Adam for Colby.
After Zach leaves, Ethan explains to Maria that his father will do whatever he wants to try to beat her down. She notes that Zach has already won by killing her husband. Ethan promises her that Zach will pay for what he has done to her, and to Edmund. Maria thanks him, and says that Edmund would be very grateful that she had someone she could depend on.
At that moment, Zach arrives at Jack's apartment to check on Lily. He is concerned because he doesn't see any guards around. Jack assures him that both of his daughters are safe, and being taken care of. Erica joins her fiancé at the door and asks who will take care of Ethan and his accusations. Zach takes his turn in making assurances, and tells her that he will take care of his son. She warns him that whatever he does to Ethan, be sure not to hurt Kendall in the process.
Back in his cabin, David hears a knock on the door. He calls out that he isn't interested in any visitors, but he stops short when he opens the door and finds Kendall. She simply tells him that she needs him.
Back at the warehouse, Ryan paces the floor and then steps outside, audibly wondering where his brother is.
Lily asks Greenlee is she is scared and she replies that she is not. Lily seems confused and points out that she is scared because the driver has disappeared and they are alone. When Lily asks Greenlee if she thinks they have been ambushed, Greenlee admits that they probably have. When Lily tries to go off alone, Greenlee convinces her to stay close and they both go to where the car is parked. They find a flashlight on the ground next to a tire that never made it on the car. Lily begins her counting and to try to calm her down, Greenlee says that the driver probably went to the bathroom and took the car keys so no one would steal the car. They find skid marks in the dirt, as though someone was dragged in it and begin to run the opposite direction, but end up in at gunpoint in front of Jonathan. Jonathan makes Greenlee call Jackson and tell him that they have arrived at Lily's school safely. When he asks to speak to Lily, Greenlee says that she is talking to her teachers and the teachers recommend her not speaking to him for some time, until the situation is resolved. Jackson says that he does not like that, but agrees and they hang up. Jonathan apologizes for holding them hostage, but says that he only doing it to make Braden think he is on his side. Greenlee tells him they should call the cops because Braden isn't even around, but Jonathan disagrees. When Lily starts to walk away because she has been taught to get help when bad things happen, Jonathan tells Greenlee to make Lily stay or he will shoot them. Greenlee calmly explains to Lily that she can't go to the cops because if she does, Jonathan will shoot them and they will begin to see red because they will bleed and die. Lily comes back and Greenlee tells Jonathan that she hated saying those things to Lily. Jonathan reminds her that it all for Ryan and leads them into a cave. Once they get into the cave, Lily tells Greenlee that she wants to go to another place because the cave is scary. Outside, Kendall has seen everything and steps on a leaf, making a loud noise. Jonathan goes outside but finds nothing and Lily says it was probably an animal. Jonathan locks Lily and Greenlee inside of a cage as Kendall tries to dial 911 but can not get a signal. It is not long before Jonathan finds her and holds the gun in her face.
David immediately turns Kendall away until she barges in and starts going through his medical tubes of mystery juices. David tells her to back off and asks her what she needs. Kendall says that she wants the truth juice to prove to everyone that Ethan did not lie to her. David asks her why she cares what other people think if she believes her man. Kendall says that if she can prove he is telling the truth, then they will leave him alone. David says that she hates Babe and is friends with JR, so with those two strikes against her, she is the last person he would help. Plus, if Zach is in jail or not, that has nothing to do with him, David notes. Kendall rants that her family is brainwashing Lily to spread lies about Ethan. In order to shut her up, David hands Kendall the potion, but as soon as she gets out the door, she comes back in and returns it. She says that she can't test Ethan like she did with Ryan and has to believe him. After Kendall leaves, David goes to the prison to see Di. He pretends to be her doctor and when she meets him, he asks who her she is. Di asks him the same thing.
Ethan goes to see Zach at his casino and Zach asks him how in the world he has all of this free time to torture him and run Cambias Industries at the same time. Ethan says, "clean living." Oh yes, not to mean getting revenge on Zach has sweetened his life, he says. Zach says that maybe he should put Ethan on his hit list, knock his knees out or maybe deport him out of Pine Valley. Ethan says that no matter what he does, Zach will still rot in prison, exactly where he should be. Zach realizes that Ethan came to visit him to make sure that he knew he was not going to back down from his story. He says that if Ethan continues to lie, he will lose Kendall, the woman he claims to love more than anything else in the world. Ethan says that Kendall believes him, but Zach says it won't last. Eventually, she will feel torn between his word and her family's accusations, Zach says.
Zach tries to declare peace with Ethan, but Ethan refuses. Zach says that if it is war he wants, he will get his war then leaves.
When Adam comes into the study, JR announces that he has found Colby and Liza. Adam is thrilled and when he asks JR where they are, JR asks him how much he is going to pay him, considering he was willing to pay high stakes from David for the same information. JR threatens to leave Pine Valley with his son and go so far that no one would find them. Adam says that if JR was in shoes, he would have done the exact same thing and that if he wants to play with the big boys now, he is going to act like he wants to be treated equally. He says that he was going to blow off Babe and David as soon as he got Colby back. JR gets upset for Adam not letting him in on the deal, but his father says that he had no choice because JR is letting his anger control him. JR says that Adam is the problem, not Babe or David, because he took his mother away from him and put a hole in his heart. Adam says that if Dixie really loved JR, she would have taken him with him, but she didn't, so he should let her go.
As Ryan waits in the warehouse for Braden, he imagines seeing his dead father saying "Give it up Ryan." His father immediately begins trying to bring him down, saying that Ryan is exactly like him, no matter how many times he tries to block him out or ignore his rage that he holds deep down. Ryan says that he is nothing like his father. His father says that again, Ryan has disappointed him, but not Braden-Braden has the guts to kill someone else, unlike Ryan. His father says that Jonathan is a woman beater, Braden is a homicidal maniac and Ryan is the next one to lose it. Ryan again repeats he is not like his father. His father says that the only good part of his life was his daughter and he used to dream of a better life for them until he realized that he was worthless and could not do any better. That made him turn to the booze and the belt, his father says. Ryan says that even on his worst day, he would never turn into him. His father does not seem bothered and says that Braden will come through for him then leaves. Ryan says "Greenlee" before Tad walks in to make sure everything is OK. Tad begins telling Ryan that he hated his father too and had nightmares that he would turn out like him, but he didn't. Ryan does not have to turn out like his father, Tad says. Ryan calls Jackson to check on Greenlee and seems relieved to find out that she has made to the school with Lily. A man comes to the door and hands Ryan an envelope from Braden.
