Kendall was out of the ICU and in a regular hospital room. Ryan came in and found her sleeping. As he watched her, he told her she looked beautiful and that he loved her. Then, Kendall opened her eyes. She asked Ryan if he was talking to her. He said yes, but only admitted to saying she looked beautiful. Together, they decided to visit Spike. Meanwhile, Josh was still talking with Joe. Erica rushed in to see if he was alright from the explosion. Josh was surprised at her concern. He began to question her about what his father did to her in the past. Erica said she had told him about the drugging and abduction already. Josh said there was something else and he wanted to know. Joe told Erica to tell him. Josh realized Joe was in on it and he was right about there being a secret. Erica asked Joe for privacy. After Joe left, Bianca saw her mother in the room and watched from a distance. Josh interrogated her, but she gave him no new information. Josh became frustrated and left. Erica left also and saw Bianca outside. Bianca questioned her mother about Josh and Dr. Madden. Erica eluded the conversation by pointing out Kendall and Ryan with Spike. Bianca went in to see her nephew and Ryan came out to see Erica. Erica looked very pleased and said she could tell Ryan was in love with Kendall. She encouraged him to fight for Kendall and win her from Zach. Ryan explained he would not come between the two because of Kendall's happiness. In the meantime, Bianca voiced her worries about Erica's involvement with Dr. Madden. She told Kendall she heard their mother threaten him and now he was missing. Kendall filled Bianca in on details, like him aborting Erica's baby and his move to have Kendall put Spike up for adoption. Bianca was very upset, but Kendall vowed to get Erica's secret out of her. Later, all four were back in Kendall's room. Kendall put the television on and they saw a reporter outside the courthouse giving details on JR's case.
Dixie pleaded with Babe to get JR to change his mind about pleading guilty. She said the JR that was going into jail would not be the same to come out. She explained he would be surrounded by horrible men and illegal drugs. She asked Babe if she could live with this. Babe said he did terrible things and asked Dixie why she did not want him to take responsibility for them. Dixie claimed he did take responsibility when he sincerely apologized before going to court. Babe said he wanted to plead guilty for himself. Dixie told her she was wrong because he was doing it for her. She said JR was going to jail to prove his love for Babe. Babe could not believe Dixie was putting this pressure on her. All of a sudden she lashed out! She threw her purse and yelled this was all Dixie's fault because she left and ruined his life! Dixie admitted she was to blame, but still begged Babe to stop JR, not only for his sake, but for Little Adam's as well. Then, Winifred walked in with Little Adam. She said he woke up calling out for his daddy. Babe took him in her arms and explained that his daddy had to leave him. The little boy was confused by his father's departure and this made Babe tear up.
JR was at the courthouse, along with many other Pine Valley residents. Adam was still trying to convince JR into changing his plea. JR got annoyed and stormed off. Krystal told Adam he was a grown man and this was his decision. David then began to gloat to JR. He was happy Babe would be able to make a life without him in it. Tad walked up, grabbed David and told him JR and Dr. Madden were none of his concern. Meanwhile, Krystal seemed to be sincere when she told JR she was proud of him. JR claimed she was proud because he was finally going to be far away from Babe. He then asked Tad where Dixie and Babe were. Tad was not sure, so JR remarked he did not need anyone. Next, Julia ran into Di. She inquired if Di had been spending time with Tad. She said no because of his devotion to finding Kate. Julia sternly reassured they would get information out of Dr. Madden and some justice. Then, JR saw Jamie. He admitted his secret desire to run away. Jamie asked what was stopping him. He said it would set a bad example for his son, plus he would never be able to see Little Adam again. He also said Jamie would have to take care of Dr. Madden solo once he was in jail. Jamie replied once he got information, he would let him know. JR walked away and Zach, who had been watching JR's every step, told Jamie that JR was going to pay no matter what. Then, Babe and Dixie walked in and JR was relieved. Dixie asked Zach if there was any progress on Dr. Madden and he said it was only a matter of time. The judge then entered and began to list JR's offenses. He asked JR if he was aware of the consequences to pleading guilty, such as no chance of an appeal. JR stood up to make his final guilty plea and Babe stood up too! She yelled to JR not to plead guilty because he did not do it! The whole courtroom was shocked!
Dr. Madden figured out he was not talking to a real person, but a recording. Dr. Madden began to look frazzled as he ran down his list of possible abductors. He then began to rant about how he did Kate a favor by taking her away from Tad and Dixie. He said they were bad parents and raised Jamie and JR to be useless human beings. He wished he could have taken them away from Tad and Dixie too. He also claimed Kendall should not have been allowed to be a mother. He said anyone who did not want their baby from conception did not deserve the child. As he was ranting, Josh walked into the park looking distressed. Amanda walked in soon after and asked Josh where his father was. Josh said he did not know and not to expect his help where his father was concerned. Amanda insisted Dr. Madden was her friend and a good man, despite what everyone else thought. Then, a gardener came and began to mow above the doctor's grave. Dr. Madden called out for help. He also poured his heart out to Josh, just in case he ever heard the recording. He explained how Josh was conceived and said he loved him very much. Finally, he said he would never give in and divulge Kate's location. He screamed I'll see you in hell! Above ground, Josh was annoyed by the mowing noise and told the gardener to leave. When it was silent, Amanda asked Josh to tell his father she was still his friend. She turned to leave when suddenly Josh perked up and asked, "Did you hear that?"
While in the park, Josh heard something (which was actually Greg), but when Amanda didn't hear anything, he chalked it up to him going crazy. Still buried-alive, Greg suffered an arrhythmia and recited his last will and testament to the microphone in the coffin. "I intend to get the last laugh," he declared, and proceeded to condemn his enemies (which included half of PV) to a life in Hell on earth.
As Lily and Jonathan enjoyed their "honeymoon" in the park until Jonathan had a seizure and was rushed to the hospital. Josh and Amanda were also in the park and Lily told Amanda that she couldn't lose him because he was broken just like her. Meanwhile, Jonathan's awoke a bit disoriented but was medically fine. While alone with a worried Erin, Jonathan looked in his sister's eyes and said, "It's me," in his best serial-killer Jonathan voice.
When the news reported the developments at the courthouse, Kendall, Bianca and Ryan couldn't believe their ears. Ryan immediately went to the court, and the Kane women lamented over the situation. A confused Bianca told Kendall that JR must have gotten to Babe and Kendall (again) reminded her little sister that Babe stole Miranda from her. Kendall demanded to know how Bianca could defend Babe. Binks said she wasn't defending the babynapper, she was just trying to make sense of the situation.
Over at the courthouse, pandemonium erupted when Babe told the judge she lied and JR was innocent. The judge granted a brief recess, and Babe and JR quickly went to have a private powwow. JR was ready to face his punishment. He didn't understand what Babe was doing. She wanted JR to have a chance to make things right and feared what prison would do to him. For her sake and Little Adam's, he had to plead not guilty. While Babe and JR chatted, Tad confronted Dixie. "You did this," he stated. She admitted that she talked Babe into changing her story. Tad was disappointed, but Adam was beyond pleased. Krystal, however, was furious. Dixie quickly reminded Krystal that she was protecting her son - just as Dixie was sure Krystal had done for Babe at some point. (Hello again, baby switch.) If Babe forgave JR, nothing else should matter, Dixie claimed. But when she turned around, she was face-to-face with Zach. "I'm so sorry," she said. "Zach, please, try to understand." Ryan walked up and Kendall's devotees laid into Dix. When Babe and JR finally re-entered the courtroom, Babe was still trying to convince JR to plead not guilty. Erica and Bianca wheeled in Kendall and she wanted to know if she got a vote. Once court was back in session, JR indeed pleaded not guilty and Babe changed her testimony. Just as the judge was about to dismiss the case, Kendall had a memory of JR talking to her while she was in the coma. She stopped the judge and said, "He confessed to me!"
Amanda and Josh were still in the park. Josh was sure he heard a person calling for help. In the meantime, Lily and Jonathan were at the boathouse enjoying being newlyweds. Jonathan was writing a life plan for them and Lily wanted to see it. He said it was a surprise. Lily kept trying to peek. So, Jonathan said she could read it, if she caught him. Lily began to run after Jonathan. They ran into the park, where Jonathan was jokingly yelling for help. Josh saw them and assumed it was Jonathan he had heard. Josh went to leave, but Jonathan began to have a seizure. As Josh tried to help him, Lily was very distressed. The four of them went to the hospital. While Jonathan was given tests, Amanda and Lily talked. Lily explained how she and Jonathan were a perfect match. She said someone called her broken once and it made her upset; however, Jonathan called himself broken after the brain tumor. She said broken pieces normally did not fit together, but they did. Since they were both different, they were perfect for each other. Amanda was happy for them and called Erin to come see Jonathan. Lily was glad she did not call Jack, but he still saw Lily in the hospital. He was there to see Kendall and was surprised to find Lily. Lily told him what happened and he said she could stay with him while Jonathan was in the hospital. She refused because Jonathan was her husband and her new home was with him. She also got annoyed with Jack because he did not want her to be with Jonathan. Meanwhile, Josh told Jonathan all of his tests showed he was healthy. Erin went in to see him. Jonathan spoke perfectly and told her it was really him. He was no longer impaired. Erin was pleased, but asked how this would affect his marriage. He believed this was a blessing because he could take care of Lily properly now. Erin said he changed and might want more out of the relationship. Jonathan realized she was talking about sex and assured her he loved Lily and did not care about that. At this time, Aidan went to tell Lily Jonathan was awake and ready to see her. She left for his room and Aidan stayed to talk with Jack. Jack admitted he would rather see Jonathan hit by a truck than spend another day as Lily's husband. Aidan enlightened him on how Jonathan saved Lily's life from a sexual predator in New York. He also asserted how happy they are together. Jack turned to look inside Jonathan's room. He then witnessed something out of the ordinary. Lily embraced Jonathan! Lily explained how happy she was the two of them were different and compatible because of it. She told Jonathan not to change. Jonathan just listened, but Erin said change was good. Lily declared they had changed enough and they were perfect now. Jonathan finally spoke, but his speech was slow and impeded again. He told Lily to go get some food and rest. When she left, Erin asked if he was alright. He confessed he was just pretending to be impaired for her sake.
In the courtroom, Kendall stood up and told the judge she was JR's victim and he confessed to her. The two lawyers began to argue over Kendall's new information. The judge said he would decide who would and would not be heard. He allowed Kendall to testify under oath. On the stand, Kendall recalled JR telling her that Babe was supposed to be hurt, not her. After her testimony, JR's lawyer slyly asked how she reacted after the confession. Kendall said she freaked out. He got more specific and asked what action she took. She had to admit she took no action because of the coma. The lawyer argued her testimony was irrelevant since she was unconscious. The judge called a brief recess so the lawyers could figure out whether or not there was a case. Afterwards, Bianca and Erica asked Kendall if she really remembered everything. Kendall said yes and anything she did not remember would eventually come back to her. Kendall then began to bash Babe. Bianca sternly looked at Babe and left the room. Babe saw this look and followed her. Bianca was very upset with Babe. Babe said not to worry about Kendall because JR loved her and never meant to hurt her. Bianca admitted she was worried for Babe. Babe was surprised by her concern, but assured Bianca JR had changed. Bianca asked for proof. Babe said JR willingly going to jail was proof enough. Unconvinced, Bianca listed all of the terrible things JR did in the past. Babe said he was not that man anymore. Instead, he was the man she first met in San Diego. Bianca asserted he was one man and he was capable of loving her one day and trying to kill her the next day. She inquired how Babe could still care for him. Babe asked Bianca how she could still care for her. She then thanked Bianca with all her heart for caring about her. Meanwhile, in the courtroom, JR asked to speak with Kendall. He apologized and asked what he could do to make it up to her and Spike. She told him he could feel like she did, helpless and worried he would never see his son. He claimed he knew how that felt. She said he should feel that way again and again behind bars. Ryan interjected and said because of Spike's fragile state, it was not over for them and it would not be over for him either. Next, Julia apologized to Jamie for having to leave early. She obscurely said she had some stuff to do. David was also busy. He approached the District Attorney and volunteered to testify that Kendall was coherent in the coma. The lawyer turned him down because he was on the wrong side of the law too many times. At this point, Dixie found Zach and tried to explain herself. Zach did not want to listen, but she continued to talk. She brought up Zach's desire to have a second chance with his late son. She said this was her way of getting another chance with her son. Zach was still unreceptive. Desperate, she pleaded with him not to hurt her son. Tad then came to tell her the judge was back. Everyone joined in the courtroom. The District Attorney stated due to the new developments, he could not proceed with the case. Jamie then went to JR. He said vaguely that he had Dr. Madden covered and for JR to take care of his wife. Jamie left and Ryan walked up to JR. JR began to apologize. Ryan interrupted and told him he would be better off in jail. He said actions had consequences, even for Chandlers. Kendall then returned to the hospital. Bianca had Miranda and was hesitant about leaving. Kendall told her it was okay to go. Erica comforted her that they were Kane women and they would straighten out this mess. Meanwhile, at the Chandler mansion, Adam was overjoyed and toasting Babe with champagne. Krystal observed Babe and JR were not as happy. So, she suggested they visit their grandson upstairs. Then, JR asked Babe if she regretted what she did. She said no, but was not sure about what comes next. JR agreed he did not have a clue.
Dr. Joe Martin was working in the hospital and received a page. He was pleasantly surprised to see it was his son, Dr. Jeff Martin, who summoned him. Joe quickly introduced Jeff to Josh. He bragged to his son that Josh was a promising intern, like Jeff was. Jeff shook Josh's hand with a smile on his face.
Dr. Madden looked very tattered. He had a bad dream in which his hands turned into skeleton bones. As he lay there, the disguised voice was heard. The voice said it was waiting all day for a chat. Dr. Madden dismissed it as another recording, but he was wrong! The voice affirmed it was his host, alive and in person!
Erin tries to convince Jonathan that he can't forego the future that is waiting for him now, but he tells her that he is willing to do just that - for Lily. Jonathan explains that Lily has become a completely different person since they fell in love. Erin thinks that her brother can take better care of Lily now that he has fully recovered, but he refuses - because it's not what Lily needs. He tells her that she can't really understand what it's like to be equal with Lily - how hard everything is to accomplish, and how horribly people treat you. He goes on to say that things are slightly easier now for his wife because she has someone that she can count on that will support her - and he won't take that away from her. Erin tells her brother that if he chooses to keep up the ruse of being impaired, it's a 24/7 job. In addition, it's not a matter of if he will get caught - but when. Jonathan tells her that he doesn't need to go back to programming computers like he used to do - all he needs is the smile on Lily's face. He then says that he is smart enough to pull off acting like he is still impaired. He reminds her of how he managed to come across as normal even when he was an evil, violent person inside. Erin thinks that he is giving up too much to settle for a life with Lily, but Jonathan quiets her uneasiness somewhat by telling her that Lily was responsible for teaching him how to love. Erin can't completely agree with his decision and thinks they should talk it over with Ryan. Jonathan firmly tells her that no one can know - and begs her to keep his secret.
Lily fairly gushes to Aidan about how wonderful her new husband is, and Aidan takes this to mean that Lily is head over heels in love. She tells him that she is glad that they broke up because Jonathan is a much better fit for her, as Erin is for him. Aidan tells her that it seems they were destined to land where they did. Lily admits that she doesn't quite understand the concept of destiny - so Aidan tells her that if they hadn't broken up, she and Jonathan would never have gotten to know each other as well as they do. With that concrete example, Lily's face lights up. She then asks if Erin is his destiny as well. Aidan tells her that they haven't figured it out yet, but that they would be lucky if they found the kind of love and happiness that Lily and Jonathan have.
Erin tells her brother that she gets what he wants to do and why, but can't see a secret this big staying quiet for too long. He tells her that she kept his secret once before - by hiding him out and taking care of him - and he needs her to do it again, this time for love. She visibly flounders, but before she can give him an answer, Lily and Aidan enter the room. Lily announces that they will be able to factor in the hospital bill so that it is affordable, and Jonathan slips effortlessly into his old self - telling his wife that he feels much better and is ready to go home. Aidan offers to carry some of the things Lily is holding, and while they are distracted, Erin leans in, tells Jonathan that she has no right to tell him how to love, and then leaves the room with Aidan. Once outside, Aidan tells Erin that he thinks Jonathan and Lily are perfect for each other. Erin turns to face him, and he notices that tears are streaming down her cheeks.
Babe sits slightly apart from her husband on the couch, noting that while she has what she wanted - JR not in jail, and there for their son - she hasn't a clue as to what comes next for the two of them. JR tells her that the deciding power lies completely in her hands. Babe tells him that the only thing that she knows for sure is that after what JR did, they can't pick up where they left off. JR tells her that he wants to start over, but Babe tells him that it's hard to forget everything that happened. JR reminds her that she has seen him at his lowest, and although it won't be easy, he wants to make up for every time he doubted her, hurt her, made her cry or let her down. She tells him that they have been at this crossroads before - where he swears that he will never do any of those things again...and yet, he always does. He promises that this time he will show her that he is a changed man, and begs her to help him find his way back to where they once were. Unsure of what to say in the moment, Babe quickly leaves the room. Thinking that he ruined his first chance, JR sits dejectedly on a chair. Moments later, Babe returns with all of the paperwork he gave her in preparation for jail, bequeathing his stocks and custody to her. JR tries to insist that she keep them, as they will be the things that guarantee she and their son will be taken care of. Babe tells him that if they are going to make things work, they need to start fresh, without any of the doubts or fears from before. She tells him that she doesn't want to forget everything from the past - because there were moments that they shared that she will treasure forever. However, she tells him that she wants to make new memories as well. She suggests they go for a walk, and tells him that if they can find a piece of what they once had, they will have a place to start.
A short time later, Babe and JR reach the park, and briefly discuss their renewed determination to find their way back to each other, despite what other people might say. JR then takes a moment aside, and when Babe asks what's on his mind, he tells her that he is thankful for getting a second chance with his family. He notes that not everyone is that lucky, and she immediately knows that he is talking about Kate. He tells her that Jamie has already stepped up to the plate - and he needs to do the same. One way or another, he vows to make Madden reveal where his baby sister is stashed.
Erica and Kendall spend a few moments lamenting Bianca's departure, and then Kendall asks her mother if she meant it when she said they would work to fix things. Erica, her determination renewed, assures her eldest daughter that she plans to take care of everyone who hurt her. Kendall muses aloud about whether that includes Greg Madden and this catches Erica off-guard. Erica tries to regain control of the conversation by insisting that the people that most need their attention are JR and Babe, but Kendall refuses to let the topic die until Erica confesses what Greg did to her. Erica tries to blow her daughter off, saying that the fact that Greg terminated her pregnancy is ancient history. Kendall doesn't buy it, and reveals that she and Bianca discussed things, and they both want to know what Erica is hiding, and what Josh has to do with it all. Erica appears slightly taken aback, and tries to explain the confrontation that Bianca witnessed as an offshoot from what Josh did to her when he was the producer. Kendall starts to press for more amid the many distractions that Erica throws at her, when Erica finally tells her that in light of the precious new son that she has, it should be easy to just let the past stay in the past. Kendall still prods but Erica, desperate to change the subject, starts to talk about a pleasant "I told you so": the fact that Kendall would fall in love with her son. Kendall agrees that her mother was right, but notes that she couldn't have done it without Zach. Erica starts to turn her nose up at the idea, but Kendall points out that if Zach hadn't kidnapped her, she wouldn't have been able to take that leap. She also points out that she couldn't have saved Spike without Zach's help. Erica voices her belief that Zach needlessly risked her life for the baby, but Kendall corrects her by saying that Zach only did what he believed she wanted. She goes on to talk about what an amazing addition to her life Zach is, and how much she wants Erica to accept him as her husband. Unwilling, or perhaps unable, Erica abruptly changes the subject - instead asking her daughter if she needs anything. Unmoved, Kendall requests that Erica find her husband and bring him to her. After brief consideration, Erica prepares to go, but before she can, Kendall has a memory flash. She tells her mother that she can remember hearing Greg's voice as well as her mother's, and that Greg was vile - announcing that not only was Kendall not mommy material, neither was Erica. She then notes that she could hear her mother's words strong and clear, standing up to Greg - and how proud she was of Erica. She thanks Erica for dropping everything in her life to see her through the whole ordeal, and offers her help should Erica need anything. Erica hugs her and says that she wants for nothing, but knows that Kendall needs rest if she is going to be released the following day - and then takes her leave.
Simone and Dani stop by the hospital and visit Kendall, intent on celebrating her survival as well as her son's, but they are stumped by the look on her face. Simone barely manages to check in on Spike's status before Kendall soothes their immediate fears by explaining that she can't stop thinking about the fact that her son almost died, while Babe and JR are breathing free and clear. She rants about the fact that she will have to see Babe every day at Fusion, and that even though JR is to blame, Babe will serve as a constant reminder that she almost lost her son. Dani suggests a buy-out, but Kendall tells her that Zach already tried that avenue. Simone tries to drum up sympathy by telling her that Babe testified to how much Kendall wanted the baby, but Kendall refuses to consider that. She says that the Babe she knows is the one that got JR off the hook and stole her niece. She goes on to say that the only way they will have a future at Fusion is without Babe. At her inquiry, both Dani and Simone agree to stand with Kendall in order to force Babe out.
The two Dr. Martins continue to chat with Josh, reminiscing about the work he did to save Erica at the Mardi Gras Ball. Joe raves about how great a doctor Josh is, and how he should have never left the profession. Jeff asks what made him come back, and Josh said that he'd spent enough time finding out what he didn't want to do - and that since his father is a doctor, coming back to medicine was natural. Josh then asks what brought Jeff back to Pine Valley. Joe interjects that Jeff had spent years working with a coalition of doctors that donate their time to work in Third World countries. Jeff follows by saying that after years of doing that, the lure of family as well as the things he took for granted once upon a time was enough to warrant a trip home. Joe then adds that Jeff will be teaching an advanced seminar while here, and Josh expresses an interest. Although there are only a limited number of spots, Joe previously submitted Josh's name. Jeff tells him that the class will be difficult, and the workload will be heavy, but he expects the best from the best. Not realizing the power of his words, Josh tells the father he never knew that he will make him proud. Josh then says that his main motivation for coming back to medicine is how good he feels knowing that he is saving lives. Jeff registers how impressed he is, and as Erica rounds the corner, Joe rejoins the duo and asks his son which of them should deliver the news to Josh. Before they have a chance, Jeff notices Erica's arrival and greets her cordially. Joe tries to move back into imparting the good news, but misinterpreting the situation, Erica tries to stall, thinking that they should have consulted her first. Jeff tells her that medicine is not her forte, and then tells Josh that he has been chosen for the seminar. After a few more moments of small talk, Joe insists that he and Josh need to get back to work, leaving Jeff and Erica to get reacquainted. With them gone, Erica notes that it might have been nice for Joe to warn her that his prodigal son was returning. He tells her that he will be staying a while, and she inquires into his reasoning. He tells her that having heard out of the blue that he has a son, he had no choice but to come back and meet him. Erica then confirms that Josh wasn't told the truth, but Jeff lets her know that it's not a permanent thing. She reminds him that Josh has not been a part of their lives, has one of his own, and hearing the truth might turn his world upside down. Jeff corrects her, saying that Josh could still be a part of his life. Erica tells him that the best decision would be to keep Josh in the dark, but Jeff is of a different mindset. He offers to take her out to dinner so that they can catch up and talk about old times. Erica refuses, and instead tells him that he shouldn't treat the situation so flippantly. Jeff promises that he is very serious about what is going on, and Erica begs him to just forget that anything had changed and to go back to where he came from. Jeff assures her that he can not be forced out of town, as his main objective is to get to know his son. Erica thinks that his decision is based on wanting to torture her, but he refutes that statement. He admits that he isn't sure at this point whether Josh will ever know his true parentage, but informs her of the one thing he knows for certain: Erica will not get to make the call.
Startled that the voice piped into the box is now connected to someone live and in person, Greg takes a moment to process the request for information about Kate. He then tells the voice that they should go first and reveal who they are. The voice replies that the choice is up to Madden: the voice can either be the angel that gives a second chance at life, or the devil that will end it. The voice tells him that it could belong to any of the people whose lives he disrupted - including his son. It then backtracks and reminds Greg that Josh is not really his. Irate, Greg blurts out that he was the one that saved Josh's life, making him a better parent than anyone that might be his captor. He goes one step further and says that no Martin deserves to be a parent. Greg continues to mull over who could be responsible for putting him in his early grave, and impatience wins out. The captor demands to know why Greg is being so stubborn. Greg confesses his belief that should he give up the information on Kate, he's as good as dead. The captor tells him if he doesn't - his death is guaranteed. Greg promises that if he dies, his captor will have to follow him to hell because he will never reveal Kate's location before he is released.
Babe admits that JR scared her the night that Madden went missing - with a jail sentence hanging over his head, he acted like he had nothing to lose. JR admits that he felt exactly as she thought, but more than that, he needed Madden alive so that they could get answers out of him. He tells her that Jamie is working on getting those answers, and admits his hope that Kate will be home sooner or later. He then asks her if she would like to go to the boathouse to listen to the rest of the concert, and when she agrees, they take off, oblivious to the fact that they had been sitting right above where Madden is buried.
The captor reappears in shadow form once JR and Babe leave, and remotely tells Greg that he is wasting time, but if he wants to play the odds, so be it. The captor asks a now mute Greg if he noticed any change - and then, without waiting for an answer, tells him that his air supply had just been cut off. Greg is informed that if he has any last words, now would be a good time to share. Greg tries to focus and slow his breathing, but his calm only lasts a few moments before he lets out a scream of frustration. He begs to be let out, and showing an ounce of compassion, his captor lets air into the wooden cell once more. It then informs Greg that he will have some alone time to consider what it's like to look death in the eye.
Over at the boathouse, as they listen to strains of classical music, JR asks Babe what specifically made their France trip so special. She tells him that he was just himself, no pretenses - and that he made her feel safe, loved and like they could stay that way forever. JR tells her that it is possible, and reiterates that he wants to give her all of that and more. Before they can delve much further, Jamie appears and cryptically asks for JR's assistance with a wall he hit concerning Greg. JR asks his estranged bride if she would mind them stepping away to talk, and Babe encourages them to go. When they do, she stands and looks after them, curious as to what the secret is.
Kendall gets to check out of the hospital, but Spike has to stay there a little while longer. She tells Zach that she must go to Fusion to get her revenge on Babe, but wants him to take care of JR. Zach asks Kendall to rest, but she can't sit at home and do nothing. Kendall tells her husband that she must protect Spike by giving JR and Babe exactly what they deserve. Seeing that Zach is not thrilled about the idea, Kendall asks him what is wrong. Zach says he is upset with JR too, but revenge will not accomplish anything. Kendall claims it is not revenge; it is justice for her, her family and Spike. Zach tells Kendall that if she goes on with her path of justice, she will have to deal with the consequences of it every day. Kendall walks out, ready to deal with Babe.
Babe goes to Fusion, unaware of Simone and Danielle's plan to kick her out. Danielle and Simone reveal a poster claiming Babe will do anything to get away with murder. Babe is shocked by the poster, but tells the girls the poster goes against the Fusion concept. When Simone asks what that concept is, Babe replies that Fusion is supposed to show the strength of women who work together, but by doing a print ad campaign with only one woman, it will take a step backwards. Simone tells Babe that they shouldn't do anything until Kendall comes back, while her child still fights for his life in the hospital. Babe speaks to Erin alone, apologizing for JR's actions, but Erin does not understand how she can even defend JR. Erin asks Babe if JR is abusing her, which is making her think so irrationally. Babe tells Erin JR would never hurt her, but Erin brings up the fact that JR tried to kill her. Erin says she is training to be a domestic abuse counselor at the Miranda Center, which has given her a chance to meet people who have similar behaviors in abusive situations. Kendall walks in, with Danielle, Simone and Erin at her side. When Babe begins to apologize for JR's actions, everyone cuts her off, claiming JR has not made a miraculous recovery. Babe tells Kendall that she has managed to forgive Zach, but she is unable to get past what JR, her former best friend, did.
