Erica was at the casino when she saw Jeff putting on a lab coat and getting into a private elevator. The elevator was secured, so Erica approached the guard as if she was meant to be there. Erica claimed that Jeff and Josh were waiting for her. Still, the guard would not let her on the elevator. Erica asked if he knew who she was. He said yes, but did not care. Erica glared at him and pulled out her phone. Erica warned he was naïve and headed for trouble. Meanwhile, Jeff went into Babe's fake hospital room. Jeff was impressed at how real it looked. Babe then woke up and Jeff and Josh explained that she was recovering well, but still needed a lot of rest. So, Babe fell asleep and Jeff informed Josh that Erica was looking for him. Josh was not worried because he was more focused on the fact that Babe was done with JR. Jeff asked if Josh thought there was a chance for him and Babe. Josh was not sure because of how Babe might react to him pretending she was dead. Still, Josh's only concern was for Babe's safety. Meanwhile, Erica somehow got the guard to let her in because she stood outside Babe's room. And, when Erica saw Babe, she was stunned!
Bianca went to see Zoe in the hospital. As they spoke, Bianca suddenly became emotional over a song she had heard in the car. Bianca began to cry and embraced Zoe. Then, Bianca went to the police station. Bianca wanted to know if Jack and Derek found any new leads with Zoe's coat and the button. Derek still believed that Zoe was not attacked by the Satin Slayer and Bianca was agitated. However, Jack and Derek did not know about the button. So, Bianca explained what it was and that she gave it to Ryan. They were all surprised that Ryan did not give it to the police. Then, a cop gave Jack a letter that a messenger sent. It was from the Satin Slayer and it said, "I got what I came for, but I left you a parting gift." Jack immediately called Tad to relay the message. Then, another cop informed them that a body was found at a residence. Bianca realized the address was Kendall's new home, so they all rushed there. When they arrived, they saw Jenkins dead body lying on rocks. It appeared he was thrown from a balcony, like Amelia. Derek and Jack worried because the killer was no longer following his own rules. Then, Derek received the results from the DNA on Zoe's coat. The DNA was tested against everyone in the system and Zach was the closest match. Derek then called Tad, but Tad was elusive and gave no information.
Tad, Ryan, JR, Jamie, and Aidan were on a private jet to Las Vegas. Tad worried about JR, but JR assured Tad that he was alright to travel. Then, they all discussed their theories surrounding the button. Ryan explained it belonged to a Cambias because it was made ten years earlier and no more had been made since. Meanwhile, Kendall was in her suite in Las Vegas. As Kendall sat alone, she imagined Zach returning. First, she pictured him happy and triumphant over his father. Then, she pictured him collapsing in her arms. Then, Kendall saw Zach's coat and cuddled with it. Inside the coat was a love letter for her. Zach professed his love for Kendall and Spike and thanked them for making him a family man. Zach continued to tell Kendall all the ways he loved her. Zach also advised Kendall to call Ryan because he could protect her, which made the note seem like it was saying goodbye. Kendall began to cry and called Ryan. Kendall explained everything about the goodbye letter and Alexander being the Satin Slayer. Ryan said they were almost there and urged Kendall to stay put until they arrived. Then, Kendall got a phone call from a voice that sounded like Zach, but was really Alexander. The voice begged her to come to the warehouse and Kendall agreed. Kendall then tried to leave her suite, but the security guards would not let her. So, Kendall sneaked out of her window. Meanwhile, Ryan, Tad, JR, Jamie and Aidan were almost to Las Vegas. They each thought about how much they would enjoy killing Alexander to avenge their losses. Then, they arrived and went straight to Kendall's hotel. However, Kendall's guards would not allow them into her suite. So, Ryan forced his way in and discovered Kendall was gone.
Zach had a gun pointing at the woman that looked like his mother. Zach demanded to know who she was, but was struck in the neck by a dart and immediately fell unconscious. Alexander then entered and told the Amelia look alike to remove her mask and leave. The woman removed her mask, but chastised Alexander for killing Zach. So, Alexander shot her with his gun. Then, Kendall arrived at the warehouse. She immediately went to Zach's side, as he lay motionless on the ground. Alexander told Kendall to get up, but she refused to do anything he asked. So, Alexander said he would kill Zach if she did not obey him. Kendall looked at Zach with tears in her eyes.
The Pine Valley hunks arrived at Kendall's hotel room only to find that she was gone. They interrogated and threatened the bodyguard who could answer no questions concerning the whereabouts of Kendall. After reviewing the surveillance tapes, they find that Kendall took a cab and after contacting the cab service, they found out where she went.
Kendall found Zach unconscious on the floor and Alexander Sr. next to him. In his unconscious state, Zach saw his mother who reassured him that he was not to blame for the fall that caused her death. He passed out again but was awoken by the PV squad. They realized Kendall was gone and went after her.
Alex took Kendall back to his house. They rehashed the past about Michael, Cambias Industries and Ryan. He told her that he had watched Spike and Miranda play and she told him not to even mention their names. Alex then forced her to take a glass of wine, but she tossed it away. He went on and on about teaching Zach a lesson and Kendall continued to defend Zach. She picked up a large object to hit him, but hesitated too long and he got it away from her.
A very surprised Erica told a very alive Babe that she was supposed to be dead. Jeff explained the "plan" that had been hatched to flush out the SK and needless to say, she was not impressed. Erica told Josh that he had sold out his sister and she was ashamed that he was her son. Jack came and Erica asked him if Kendall was safe. Jack told her he didn't know. Babe asked the nurse for a phone to call Little Adam, but the nurse said she couldn't risk any emotional stimulus. The nurse told Josh that Babe was becoming aware of the situation and starting to figure things out.
Erica was at her office and called JR. JR did not want to speak with Erica, but she stated it was about Babe. Then, Josh came in and grabbed the phone. JR called back, but Josh would not let Erica pick up. Erica claimed that she wanted to help Babe's family, but Josh did not believe her. So, Erica admitted that she was worried about Kendall. Then, Erica asked why Josh would put Kendall in danger. Josh said he would never put Kendall in danger because he loved her. Josh did not how it happened, but he grew to care for his sister very much. Josh also desired a closer relationship with Erica and Bianca. Josh then explained that the Babe situation was Zach's idea. Josh also reminded Erica that she promised to support him after Babe died. So, Josh asked for Erica's support and help in keeping Babe safe. Then, Bianca came in. Bianca was shocked to see Josh and hugged him. Josh said he came back to help Kendall, so Erica gave him a concerned look. Bianca saw the look and inquired about it. Josh said he was assuring Erica that Kendall would be fine, but Erica was still skeptical. Erica then looked at Josh and said he convinced her. Josh hugged Erica and left. Bianca continued to assure Erica of Kendall's safety. However, Erica was annoyed that Bianca was confident in Jack and Zach's ability to protect Kendall. Bianca then apologized for the hurtful comments she made to her mother recently. Bianca also stated that Erica had many people supporting her. Still, Erica said she could not sleep until Kendall was home. Then, they hugged.
Babe asked the nurse if she could have a wheelchair. The nurse refused because Babe needed to rest. Babe looked suspicious and asked why the same doctor was paged over and over. The nurse said the doctor took over for David and was very busy. Then, Babe asked why the food was so good. The nurse said the hospital switched food services. So, Babe ate a little and asked to be left alone to sleep. After the nurse left, Babe pulled herself out of bed. She looked weak, but managed to open the door. Then, when Babe looked around and realized she was not in a hospital, she collapsed. Just then, Josh came in. Babe asked where she was, but Josh did not answer. Instead, Josh put Babe in her bed and sedated her. Babe fell asleep as Josh stated that Babe would always be safe with him.
JR and Jamie were at the hotel looking for real estate leads. Then, Tad came in. Jamie showed him a possible clue. Unfortunately, it ended up being a yoga spa and not Alexander's property. JR became frustrated. JR wished he could have another chance with Babe. Tad explained that second chances were not always perfect, like his unsuccessful chance with Dixie. Still, JR felt he could make things right. JR even blamed himself for Babe's affair. Then, Aidan returned from searching another useless lead. The four worried about not hearing from Zach or Ryan yet.
Zach and Ryan questioned Alexander's nurse. They explained that she could be in danger, but she refused to give them any information. Then, Zach threatened to turn her over to the police, so she admitted the truth. She explained that she and an attending physician helped fake the death. She said they wanted to help Alexander escape the shame that Michael brought upon him with the rape. Zach asked how much his father paid her. She said Alexander still left envelopes with cash for her at the warehouse. She also said the physician was dead. Ryan recommended she go home and call his attorney. She was hesitant, but Ryan insisted her life could be in danger. The nurse left. Zach did also and told Ryan not to follow. Next, Zach went to the warehouse. He called out to his father. Zach said his father was still summoning him like a child. Then, Ryan entered. Zach was annoyed. Ryan felt everything was leading up to a showdown between Alexander and Zach, but Ryan wanted to help. Zach stated that he did not need or want Ryan's help. Then, they heard a car speeding outside. They went to look and found a teddy bear outside. Zach remembered giving the bear to his mother and singing the song it played with her. Ryan asked what this meant. Zach said Alexander wanted a meeting. Then, Zach punched Ryan and knocked him out. Zach ran off.
Kendall's plan to hurt Alexander was thwarted when he grabbed the vase away from her. Alexander then pulled a gun on Kendall, but she refused to go down without a fight. Kendall asserted that Zach was nothing like Alexander because he was strong and good. Alexander disagreed and said Zach needed to be punished. Kendall was upset because Alexander promised to leave Zach alone if she obeyed him. Alexander said he lied. And, he could not believe a mistrusting person like Kendall believed him. Kendall said Alexander did not know her. Alexander disagreed and admitted to spying on her for a long time. He knew about Kendall's difficult choice between Zach and Ryan. He also knew all about Annie, Emma, and Kendall's attempt to hide Ryan's paternity. Alexander applauded Kendall's deceit and admired her for it. He also felt that Kendall still loved Ryan. Kendall denied this, but Alexander persisted that Kendall and Ryan were meant to be. So, Kendall admitted she loved Ryan. Then, Alexander gave Kendall an ultimatum. He said Kendall and Zach could live in peace if Kendall left Zach for Ryan. Kendall had tears in her eyes and agreed. So, Alexander announced that Kendall would be set free after they completed one more task. Alexander then brought Kendall to another location. There was a patio with a multitude of gardenias. Kendall looked worried. Alexander laughed and said he did not believe Kendall's performance. Then, he gave Kendall a white ribbon and told her to tie it around her neck!
Bianca rushes to Zoe's apartment, upset that she left the hospital without a bodyguard. Zoe apologizes for frightening Bianca, but realizes that Bianca is truly upset about Kendall's disappearance. Bianca also worries about how behavior is affecting Miranda as she starts making cookies. Zoe tells Bianca that she wants to discover more about "Zoe," while still maintaining some of Zarf's characteristics, such as the desire to be with Bianca. Bianca explains that she did the same thing as Zoe did - she came on too strong to a friend, Frankie, but it did not end up the way she wanted. Zoe and Bianca shake hands as a sign they have forgiven each other. When Bianca has her back turned, Zoe sneaks in handfuls of cookie dough, making Bianca laugh. After the cookies are done baking, Zoe says she has found a doctor in Baltimore who can help her transform into a woman. Bianca encourages Zoe to get the procedure done in Pine Valley, where she can be there to help with the recovery. Zoe agrees to stay in town.
Barbara tries comforting Jackson at his home by buttering him up with a glass of brandy. Barbara acts as though she is the doting mom, checking in on Lily, Sean and even introducing herself to Reggie over the telephone. Erica comes into the house, announcing that she is going with Jackson to Las Vegas. Jackson tells her to stay put and let him protect Kendall. When Erica threatens to use her own jet, Jackson reminds her that the killer is being reckless by slashing women not related to Fusion. As Jackson and Erica butt heads, Barbara announces that Erica is sleeping with Jeff. Erica follows Jackson outside, saying that he knows Erica is having sex with Jeff. After Jackson stalks off, Erica goes inside the house and slaps Barbara across the face. She tells Barbara she is only in Pine Valley to try to win Jackson over, which will never happen, and storms off. Sean comes downstairs and tells his mother that Jackson does not want her around.
Erica goes to New Beginnings to cool off. Jeff tries to make amends with Erica, but storms out when he gets frustrated.
Ryan lays unconscious in the warehouse from the blow Zach gave him to the head. Police officers show up to respond to the 911 call, claiming a dead woman is there. Ryan explains that Zach is out looking for the Satin Slayer, but the police do not take him seriously because they think Alexander is dead. Frustrated, Ryan begins punching the police as Tad comes to the rescue. Tad reaches for his cell phone, asking them to call Jackson, but instead, the police begin dragging Ryan away in handcuffs. As Tad and Ryan sit in jail, Tad tries to reassure Ryan that Zach is doing everything he can to protect Kendall. Ryan is worried Zach won't see whatever Alexander has coming his way.
Kendall takes the ribbon from Alexander's hand and ties it around her neck as he requests. Kendall claims that Alexander has murdered so many women because he wants them to be his beloved Amelia. She says Alexander's plan is not just about hurting Zach - it is almost a means of trying to get more time with the woman he lost. As Kendall tries to understand Alexander's motives, he puts the gun in his pants pocket. Kendall kisses Alexander, pretending to bring back Amelia, but also trying to find a way to escape. Kendall tells Alexander what he wants to hear - that Zach is a splitting image of him, but Alexander does not fall for her act. He pushes Kendall into the corner, holding the gun at her chest. She starts telling him what a pathetic human being he is, while Zach displays the characteristics of a real man. Alexander fires a shot.
Zach drives to the location where he thinks Kendall is, but can't get the song "Let's go to Red Rock" out of his head. Zach finds the home where Alexander has stashed Kendall. As the two men hold guns at each other, Zach demands to see his wife. Alexander demands that Zach beg for his forgiveness for leaving him before he will say where Kendall is. Zach points the gun at Alexander's chest as his father agrees to take him to Kendall. Zach finds Kendall on the roof, dressed as Amelia, with a needle of V-Tac taped inches from her throat.
Babe wakes up and upon seeing Josh, she asks where she is. He tells her that she is in the hospital, but she doesn't believe him after having looked in the hallway. He says that it must have been a dream which prompts her to warn him not to lie to her. Josh concedes, and tells her that with the help of his father, grandfather, Zach and Kendall, they snuck her out of the hospital and into a safe room below the casino. He tells her they all agreed that was the best tack given that the killer came after her twice. Babe starts to understand, relating it to what Chief Frye did when he snuck Dani out and left a decoy in her stead. She then asks why they went through all of the trouble to fool her instead of filling her in on the plan when she woke up. She goes on to ask why her mother hadn't visited and brought her son. Josh tells her that the murderer is smart and that if Krystal had started making regular visits, she would be found and probably attacked again. Then, Babe remembers Erica's proclamation about how she should be dead, and incredulously asks Josh if that's what everyone outside of their group thinks - and demands the truth. Josh finally admits that everyone thinks she is dead because the only way to truly keep her safe was to make the killer think that he succeeded. Slowly, he also reveals to a choked up Babe that not even her mother and son know that she survived. He tells her that Krystal would do anything to protect her, and is doing so now although she doesn't know it. She then asks if Josh set this all up so that he could steal her away from JR. The whole truth comes out then, with Josh admitting how they pulled off her "death", her funeral, her burial and the fact that JR never came to see her when they announced she was dead, which made it his own fault that he wasn't in on the plan. Babe realizes that as long as JR thinks she is dead, he can keep Little A all to himself, and won't blackmail her mother. She then says that she won't let her mother suffer anymore and starts to place a call to the house. Josh begs her not to but before he can stop her, Adam picks up the phone. Babe freezes, so Josh takes the phone and asks to speak to Krystal. Irate, Adam tells Josh to never call the house again.
As Adam and Colby pack up Babe's belongings, the young girl remarks how beautiful Babe looked in her clothing shortly before chastising herself for even touching her sister-in-law's things. Adam comfortingly tells her that even though this is difficult, they are doing it to spare Krystal the pain. Colby proceeds to take another article of clothing off of a shelf, only to have Krystal barge in and snatch it out of her hands. She immediately launches into defensive mode, saying that Colby couldn't wait to paw through Babe's things. Adam jumps in and tells his wife that he asked Colby to help him put Babe's things away to make it easier on her. Krystal fires back that it's too soon, especially given that Little A could wander in any minute and see that his mother's things are gone. She tosses the clothes on a shelf and dejectedly sits on the bed. She apologizes to both and says that she knows they mean well - and admits that she can't get over the pain of losing her firstborn. Adam tells her that he will do whatever she needs as a means of helping her. She tells him that all she wants is Babe, even though she knows that's the one thing he can't give her. He offers to get her tea instead, and asks his daughter to keep her company. Once alone, Krystal tells Colby that she can take anything that she wants but the teen tells her that she honestly doesn't deserve it, since she was so horrible to Babe. Krystal tries to ease her guilt but Colby tells her that she acted the way that she did because she was jealous of everything that Babe had - especially the mother/daughter relationship the two shared. She then asks how Krystal is managing to get through each day without Babe. Krystal tells her that the baby she is carrying - Babe's baby sister - is the only thing that helps.
Frustrated with the slow pace of their investigation, JR rips on how slow Jamie's computer is in an effort not to blow up at his cohorts. He suggests that not being able to get in touch with either Tad or Ryan means that they should get out there and start looking for themselves. Aidan slows him down and assures him that they need to have patience, as Tad is the best investigator around.
Out in the hall, Adam runs into Winifred, who tells him that his grandson keeps asking where his mommy is, and that she doesn't know what to tell him. He goes to grab Little A and places a call to JR. He tells his son that Little A had been missing his parents, and thought that a call was in order. He puts the phone up to Little A's ear and JR assures him that he will be home really soon. Instead of being soothed, the young lad simple asks again where his mommy is. JR tells him that mommy is resting and not to worry, and then asks him to put Grandpa back on the phone. Adam hands his grandson off to Winifred and when they leave, he asks JR what to say. JR tells him that he will talk to Little A when he gets home and leaves it at that. Adam asks where he is and JR informs him that he is with Jamie and Tad, but that's all he can say. Adam tells his son that he is proud of him and they end the call. Just then, there is a knock at the hotel room door and after opening it a crack and peeking through, JR lets in two men rolling a cart and claiming to be from room service. Aidan, sensing that something is wrong, tells the men that the food smells good, knocking them off guard long enough for both he and Jamie to knock the guys out - as they had been reaching for hidden guns. They restrain the men and train the guns on them. JR wonders how Cambias found them so quickly, and Aidan notes that Cambias probably didn't think they would get the upper hand. Aidan urges the men to lead them to their boss and obstinately, one of them asks what the alternative would be. JR fires a non-fatal round into the guy as an answer. The injured man begs Aidan and Jamie to get JR to put the gun down but both pretend they haven't a clue as to what he is talking about. The three then determine that Alex probably monitored their searches for him to uncover their whereabouts, and Aidan notes that the reverse can be true. They demand an email address and the thugs hand it over but note that it will be impossible to crack without federal clearance. JR insinuates that he has an in with the feds, and makes a call. Jamie then loads some information on the computer as JR and Aidan lock the Cambias thugs in the closet. Jamie calls them over and shows them what looks like a blueprint of Zach and Kendall's house - and then tells them that it's actually a house about 20 miles away.
Back in Babe's room, they continue to work on taking care of Babe's things when Adam notes that it is time for Colby to go to school. She offers to stay but Krystal urges her to do as her father asks. She tells the teen that she has been focusing on her grief for too long, and that she needs to live and enjoy her life. Acquiescing, Colby heads out to grab her things. Adam lays a kiss of thanks on Krystal's lips, and follows his daughter out. Once alone, Krystal drags a shirt out of a box and starts to cry while holding it close.
In jail, Tad berates himself for not acting differently with the authorities, so that they would still be able to search for Kendall. Ryan tries to assure him that he did everything right, and that it is not his fault that the authorities didn't believe what they said about Alex Sr. Before they can review what happened anymore, Jack shows up, irate that the two of them are locked up. Ryan quickly informs him that Kendall has been taken hostage. They tell him that Alex Sr. is the culprit and Jack notes that this ID explains the Cambias crest on the button and the near DNA match to Zach from the saliva sample retrieved from Zoë's coat. Jack then chews them out for taking off like vigilantes when they should have all been working together. The jailed duo responds with frustration, saying that now that everything is out on the table, they need to get over their anger, get them bailed out and find Kendall, as she is the end to the entire game that Alex Sr. has been playing. A short time later, the three men are poised to meet with an officer of the Vegas police force when Ryan confronts the man and tells him that if they won't be released, any harm that comes to Kendall will be on his head. The officer unflinchingly tells them that he will not have anyone telling him how to run his investigation, and promises that their interview will take a while. He walks away and after a short stint, he returns and tells them that the story about Alex's grave being empty checks out. They all think they will be free to go but the officer notes his plan to charge them with trespassing. Jack gets up in his face about his behavior and distracts him long enough for Tad and Ryan to escape.
Tethered to a deadly device, Kendall notes aloud that Zach would never hurt her. Her husband starts toward her but with a quick vocalization, his father stops him, and then pulls out the trigger. He pushes a button and tells Zach that if he takes one more step, he will activate the apparatus. Alex explains that the satin ribbon around Kendall's neck has a needle aimed at her throat, and the slightest wrong move from Zach could cause his father to trip the trigger, and thus kill Kendall. Zach tosses his gun over the hedge so as to remove the temptation to shoot his father while Alex tells him that he would be responsible for Kendall's death just like he was for his mother's. Zach falls silent and then, looking at the ribbons and gardenias that adorn his wife's fair skin, he clearly recalls the argument that his parents had on the balcony of his childhood home that ended with his father pushing Amelia over the edge. He snaps back to the present and lays the blame for his mother's death squarely on Alex's shoulders. Alex shoots back that Amelia was a bad influence on his sons, that she was creating weak whiny men - and that it needed to be stopped. Outraged, Zach notes that he may have convinced himself that he killed Amelia to toughen his sons up, but the truth was that he was trying to save his own ass from jail. He reveals more truth by saying that no one ever regarded him has a beloved husband or father, as his tombstone read. Rather, no one ever really loved him and that turned him into a bitter, twisted old man bent on vengeance. Smugly, Alex replies that Zach is responsible for the deaths all of the women in Pine Valley as well simply because he betrayed his family by staging his own death so many years ago. Zach refuses to take the blame any longer, and Alex retorts by saying that there is no way he would let Zach plan a long and happy life with the woman and child that belongs with Ryan, not after ruining the Cambias lineage. He promises that he will teach him a lesson once and for all. He demands an apology from Zach, saying that if he does not do as asked, Kendall will die. Zach forces out an apology and Kendall tells him that he needn't do so because she loves him and she knows Amelia loved him. Enraged that Amelia continues to interfere with his plans even though she had been eliminated, he demands that Zach turn over her picture. Painfully, Zach does as asked and visibly flinches as his father crumples it and throws it over the balcony. Alex then tells him to begin his apology again, and says that it would be more authentic if his son were kneeling. Without hesitation, Zach kneels before his father and, as Kendall looks on crying, he tells his father that he is sorry for offending him and for all of the pain he caused, admits that he needs to be punished, not Kendall, and notes that his father is always right, and therefore wins. Alex tries to use the display to point out what an embarrassment Zach is, but Kendall replies that on his knees, Zach is a million times more of a man than Alex could ever hope to become. She goes on to extol his every virtue and promises that, no matter what happens by night's end, she will be right by his side. She then tells Alex that since Zach did what was asked of him, he should be let go. Zach interrupts and tells his father that Kendall should be the one that is freed. Alex briefly considers both options but then says that he can't fully punish his son and let Kendall go. Suddenly, bravely, Zach grabs the trigger and he and his father fall to the ground, struggling for final control.
Josh shows up at the Chandler mansion and finds his way to Krystal. She is somewhat surprised, but invites him in, as misery loves company. He closes the door and then tells her that he isn't miserable, and that he came to give her a miracle. Using poetic speech, he tries to tell her that Babe is still alive but at first Krystal just thinks that he is trying to comfort her. When he plainly tells her that the death was faked to keep Babe safe from the killer, Krystal passes out. As Josh leans over her trying to revive her, Adam comes in and sees what looks like a slightly compromising situation.
Alone in her secret room, Babe recalls all of the horrible things that JR said, most notably his assertion that she should be dead, not Dixie as well as the words he spoke over her when he thought she was dead - saying that she would be nothing more than a memory to him and their son.
Tad and Ryan resurface at a company called Omega Dreamworks, where they gain access to a computer program that can identify a song from a tune that is hummed into a connected microphone. Ryan hums the ditty played by the bear that was left with Zach, and the computer tells them about the Red Rock song. Their pleasure at identifying the song is short lived as they realize they have no idea what it could mean.
