Ryan watched Greenlee through binoculars as she sailed on her sailboat. Suddenly, she was hit in the head by the sail and knocked unconscious. Ryan called out that she was hurt. An employee of the yacht club said that he would call the Coast Guard, but Ryan feared they would not get to her in time. So, he got on a motorboat and rushed out onto the seas to save Greenlee. As he went to her, he began to remember the last four years of his life. He recalled choosing Greenlee over Kendall and marrying Greenlee. He also remembered why he and Greenlee got a divorce and how he married Annie eventually. Mostly though, Ryan flashed back to happy times that he and Greenlee shared.
Ryan reached Greenlee's sailboat. He was relieved that she still had a pulse. He picked her up in his arms and swore that he would never let her go again. He brought her back to shore on his motorboat. When they reached land, he admitted that he loved her. She opened her eyes slightly. The paramedics arrived and asked if Ryan was Greenlee's husband. He said yes and went with her to the hospital.
Greenlee was unconscious in a hospital bed. Ryan asked a nurse if she would recover. The nurse felt that she would be fine and noted that Ryan saved her life. After the nurse left, Ryan professed his love to Greenlee. He said that his life had no meaning without her. He went on that she was the missing piece in his life. Just then, Greenlee opened her eyes. She remembered that Ryan pretended to be her husband and laughed. He said that he had something to tell her, but she wished to speak first. She stated that she loved him. She also thanked him for saving her life for Aidan. Ryan looked disappointed.
Tad baked cookies for Kathy. Tad and Kathy were eating cookies and reading stories when Krystal entered the house. Krystal looked confused and asked why Kathy was not at summer camp. Tad explained that the little girl did not want to go. Krystal stated that Kathy should go to summer camp. Kathy yelled that she did not want to go and that Krystal could not make her. The little girl ran off.
Krystal reminded Tad that they mutually decided camp would be the best option for Kathy, so she could make friends. He felt bad that Kathy did not want to go, so he did not want to force her. Krystal affirmed that Kathy needed normalcy in her life. Krystal further noted that it was unhealthy for Kathy to be cooped up in their house every day. He agreed and promised to talk to Kathy.
Tad spoke with Kathy. He explained that they needed to listen to Krystal because she was family. Tad affirmed that Krystal loved her very much. The little girl asked if she had to go to camp. He made a deal with her. He said that she could spend the rest of the day playing with him, if she went to camp the next day. Kathy agreed to these terms.
Carmen went to see Krystal. Carmen announced that she needed help with Adam. Krystal looked nervous, so Carmen assured her that she would not tell anyone about the kiss Krystal shared with Adam. Carmen proceeded to inquire about how she should take care of Adam and his home. As Krsytal told Carmen about Adam's heart condition, Tad eavesdropped. Krystal stated that Adam liked his eggs over easy with a dash of salt. Tad entered the room and advised Carmen to get garlic and a stake.
Carmen left and Tad seemed bothered. Tad asked Krystal if she knew how he liked his eggs. She laughed and said, "Scrambled, shredded cheese, lots of pepper." He was pleased.
Pete informed Colby that there was blood on her car's fender. Dre and Cassandra quickly told Pete that they hit a bump in the road recently. Pete asked who was driving. Colby admitted that she got drunk, so Dre was at the wheel. Pete continued to interrogate them about the blood. Dre claimed that they hit an animal. Pete stated that he took a forensics class and offered to test the blood for them. Colby pleaded with him not to test it. Pete then revealed that he already tested the blood and that it was human. Colby, Cassandra, and Dre looked shocked. Pete assumed that they were the ones who killed Richie. Dre lunged at Pete, but the girls stopped Dre from hurting Pete. As Dre and Cassandra left the mansion, Dre commented that he needed to speak with his father. Meanwhile, Colby yelled at Pete to leave. Pete slyly smiled and made himself comfortable on the couch. He motioned for Colby to sit next to him.
Annie asked Kendall if she was sure that Zach did not kill Richie. Kendall insisted that Zach was innocent. Annie commented that Zach and Kendall had kept secrets from each other in the past. Kendall became very agitated. Kendall wondered what happened to Annie. Kendall noted that she and Zach once considered Annie family. Annie reminded Kendall that Richie was her brother. Kendall did not care and called her late brother evil. After Kendall stormed out, Annie recalled Kendall accusing her of Richie's death. Annie looked distraught.
Annie went to the morgue. A man handed her a can of ashes and referred to them as Richie's remains.
Zach and Jesse went back to the highway where Zach found Richie. Jesse demanded that Zach give him all of the details from the night of Richie's death. Zach admitted that he went looking for Richie, but did not confess to the murder. Zach did, however, divulge that he was glad to see Richie's lifeless body because someone else took care of his problem.
Jesse informed Zach that he did not think Richie was a victim of a hit and run. Jesse theorized that Richie might have already been dead before he got run over. Jesse further noted that Richie also could have been killed after the car hit him. Zach wondered how Jesse would prove this. Jesse stated that he needed more evidence. Jesse wanted to see Richie's corpse again.
Kendall arrived at the police station. She asked a cop if Zach was processed for his arrest yet. The cop stated that Zach was never brought in. Kendall was confused. Then, Zach and Jesse entered. They explained to Kendall that they returned to the scene of the crime. Jesse declared that he was not arresting Zach. Kendall was relieved.
Jesse called the morgue to make an appointment to examine Richie's body again. Jesse was furious to learn that Richie's body was no longer there.
Ryan stared at Aidan and Greenlee as they cuddled together in Greenlee's hospital room. Jake examined Ryan to make sure that Ryan was not hurt. Greenlee told Aidan that she would like to give their relationship another shot. She said it was a miracle Ryan was there to rescue her. Ryan went home to spend time with Emma. Greenlee was released from the hospital.
Annie told Jesse that her father requested for Richie to be cremated so he was not buried beside her mother. Annie told Jesse she was tired of him harassing her about Richie's death. Jesse told Annie that he just wanted to find the person who killed Richie. Annie said her brother may have been a bad person, but even he did not deserve to die such a horrible death. Annie asked Jesse how the investigation was going. Jesse said he did not arrest Zach because of lack of evidence. After Jesse left, Annie apologized to Richie's ashes, but heard Richie's voice say, "You'll never get away with this, sis."
Dre met Sam at the yacht club to catch up. Sam updated Dre on his Senate campaign and talked about his appearance with Erica on television. Sam sensed something was wrong with Dre and assumed it had to do with Cassie. Dre tried to tell his father about the car accident, but a phone call to Sam interrupted their conversation. After the call, Sam said the numbers were down for his campaign and he could not take any more bad news. Sam asked what Dre wanted to tell him. Dre said he just wanted his father to know he would not drink irresponsibly again.
Fletcher, Randi's pimp, came to Angie's home to find Randi. Angie said she did not know where Randi was, but knew he had put Randi in the hospital after beating her up. Angie told Fletcher he would never hurt another woman again. Annoyed, Fletcher asked Angie where Randi was, but Angie would not tell him. She reminded Fletcher that her husband was the chief of police before trying to slam the door in his face. Fletcher caught the door with his hand as Frankie came to the apartment. Frankie told Fletcher to stay away from Randi and his mother before leaving. Angie grabbed Frankie before he could go after Fletcher. She told him that their family had been through too much already, and now they had to deal with Randi's problems because Frankie brought her into their home. Frankie said he wanted to help Randi, regardless of the danger he might face. Angie said Frankie could not help Randi until Randi decided she wanted to change her life. But Frankie thought Randi was ready for a new life. Angie went to the police station to tell Jesse about Fletcher's visit. As they were talking, Randi and other prostitutes were brought into the station.
Colby and Cassie told Adam that they wanted to take a wine class for college, but needed to be 21 years old to enroll in the class. Colby said the dean of the college found out that the girls had signed up for the class, but choose not to punish them. Colby said she was worried her classmates would find out, but Adam did not believe her story. Adam said he could help the girls if they were in trouble. Cassie looked at Colby and whispered that they should tell Adam the truth. Colby said she got drunk at her birthday party and had to be driven home by Dre. When Adam wanted to see if Colby's car had gotten damaged, Colby blurted out, "I didn't mean to kill him." Colby said they hit something, possibly Richie, on the road. Adam told the girls they were brave for telling him the truth, but wanted to speak to Colby alone. Adam suggested Colby rat out her friends to save herself. Colby told her father she was being loyal to her friends. Adam said he would make sure Cassie and Dre did not get in trouble, but Colby needed to think about her future.
Dre went to Colby's house, but told Colby and Cassie he did not tell his father about the accident. The girls told Dre that Adam knew about the accident. Colby said Peter knew about the blood on her car. Adam hatched a plan to make Colby's car disappear and then report it stolen to police.
Zach nonchalantly asked Kendall if she was going to work. She wondered how he could act like nothing was wrong. She reminded him that Annie almost got him arrested. He assured his wife that everything was fine. She wanted Annie to pay for telling Jesse that Zach murdered Richie. Zach noted that Annie did not blatantly blame the murder on him. Kendall felt that it was wrong of Annie to imply that Zach was guilty. Zach said that the issue was Kendall did not believe he was innocent. She swore that she trusted him. He then admitted that he did not tell Kendall all of the details. He described how he beat Richie in prison. Still, he vowed that he did not kill Richie, even though he wanted to. Kendall promised that she believed in his innocence. He urged her to let go of her angst for Annie. Kendall said that she would try.
Ryan told Annie that he remembered the last four years of his life. Annie was skeptical at first. So, Ryan recounted many of the moments they shared in the past. She was ecstatic and asked if he remembered loving her. He diverted the question by telling her about Greenlee's accident on the sailboat. Annie claimed that she was glad Greenlee was safe. Annie asked him again if he remembered loving her. Just then, Emma entered. The little girl said that she saw Richie on the television. She wondered where her uncle was. Ryan explained that he was in heaven.
Emma left the room. Annie thanked Ryan for saying that Richie was in heaven. Ryan stated that Emma did not need to know that he really thought Richie was in hell. Annie asked a third time if Ryan recalled his love for her. He claimed that his emotions were too complicated to explain. She said that he could show her how he felt and she kissed him. Her phone rang and she answered. Zach demanded that she meet him at Cambias. So, she lied to Ryan and said that she had to go to work early and left.
Annie went to Cambias. She walked into Zach's office and inquired why he wanted to see her. He placed her wedding ring on his desk. She looked nervous.
Ryan ran into Kendall while they were both getting coffee at a restaurant. Ryan shared the news that he recovered his memory when Greenlee had her accident. Kendall was thrilled. He apologized for making things difficult for her and Zach while he lost his memory. He stated that he acted inappropriately when he thought that he was in love with her. She told him not to worry, and laughed. She commented that he must feel silly for thinking that he loved her since he could remember loving Annie. He gave her a sheepish look. She realized that he did not love Annie. She also surmised that he was in love with Greenlee, since it was her accident that brought his memory back. Kendall encouraged Ryan to tell Greenlee how he felt about her. He said that he had tried, but she was back together with Aidan. He refused to ruin Greenlee's relationship with Aidan. He demanded that Kendall not tell Greenlee about his feelings for her. Kendall promised not to say anything.
Greenlee and Aidan were on the floor in the living room of Greenlee's penthouse. They were naked while they rolled around in sheets. As they kissed, Greenlee gushed about how happy she was to reconcile with Aidan. He apologized for his past mistakes, but she told him to stop. She affirmed that they were starting with a "clean slate."
Jake walked into the penthouse and saw Greenlee and Aidan kissing on the floor. Jake seemed disturbed and turned to leave. Greenlee yelled out for Jake to stay. Greenlee and Aidan got dressed. Greenlee talked to Jake and urged him to continue living with her. Jake said that three was a crowd. Greenlee joked that they could be like "Three's Company." Jake agreed to stay.
While Jake was taking a shower, Greenlee divulged that she wanted to hook Jake up with a woman. Aidan warned her against this, but she was determined. Jake entered the room. Aidan asked if Jake wanted to join him at the gym. Jake stated that he hated working out. Greenlee then proclaimed that she wanted everyone in her life to be as happy as she was. She told Jake that she wanted to hook him up. Jake told her not to do it and went to the gym with Aidan.
Kendall went to see Greenlee. Kendall announced that she had to tell Greenlee something about Ryan.
Cassandra and Dre were at a restaurant eating breakfast. Cassandra was very upset about the hit and run. Dre tried to console her. He said that if they got caught, he would take the blame. He told Cassandra that he would lie and say that he was the only person in the car the night that Richie was killed. Cassandra did not want Dre to take the fall. Still, she was touched that he would cover for her. Dre noted that his father gave him good advice-never let a woman down that you care about.
Colby was staring at Adam's bar as she recalled the night of the hit and run. JR saw Colby by the bar and began chastising her. He was worried that Colby had a drinking problem because she was acting oddly. Colby snapped that she was fine. JR explained that the Chandlers and alcohol were a bad mix. He reminded Colby that he, Skye, and Hailey were all alcoholics. He did not want Colby to follow in their footsteps. Colby claimed that she did not have a drinking problem.
JR received a phone call and left the room. Babe told Colby that she considered her to be a sister. Babe said that Colby could count on her if she ever wanted to talk about her problems. Colby thanked Babe and noted she was a good sister.
JR told Babe that he "scared Colby straight." JR was sure that Colby would not drink anymore. Meanwhile, Colby poured herself a shot of Vodka and drank it.
Samuel went to see Erica in prison. She asked why he was visiting her. He stated that he was on official government business. He explained that the governor was very impressed with Erica's show from jail, so the governor spoke to the warden and got Erica an early release. Samuel exclaimed that Erica was free. She said that she did not want to leave yet. He called her bluff and stated that he would let her stay for the rest of her sentence. She then admitted that she was very eager to get out of jail. She thanked him for all of his help.
After Samuel left, Erica told the guard that she was being freed. The guard brought Erica back to her cell. A woman was there. The woman said that Erica ruined her life, so she planned on ruining Erica's in return. Erica looked scared.
Annie told Zach the wedding ring did not belong to her, but quickly changed her mind when Zach looked suspicious. Annie said she lost the ring, but Zach found it at a pawnshop. He even told Annie the sales clerk's description of the woman who sold it matched Annie perfectly. Zach figured Annie sold the ring to pay off Richie. Annie told Zach to leave the issue alone. She said Ryan got his memory back and they could be a family again. Zach asked Annie to be truthful about her wedding ring, and Annie admitted she did pawn the ring to give Richie money. Annie said Richie told her horrible stories about what would happen if he went back to prison. Annie said she and Richie got into an argument at the hotel room and he hit her with the beer bottle. Zach asked Annie to tell him the truth because he did not believe her story. Annie heard Richie's voice in her head pushing her to tell Zach she had murdered him. Before Annie could get the words out, she fainted in Zach's arms.
Ryan found Tad playing with electronic miniature sailboats in a pool. Tad said the toys were for Kathy, who was away at camp. Ryan said he got his memory back after rescuing Greenlee. Ryan said it felt great to remember his life again, but it had been particularly good for Annie. Tad and Ryan decided to have a little fun racing the boats. Ryan said he thought getting his memory back would help him, but it was only making his life more complicated. Tad told Ryan to take life slowly instead of rushing into big decisions.
Kendall told Greenlee that Ryan was fine. Greenlee was relieved because she called Ryan her "hero." Kendall told Greenlee that Ryan's memory came back after he rescued Greenlee. Greenlee figured life was finally working out for everyone since Ryan remembered his love for Annie. Kendall said Annie was not the right woman for Ryan. Greenlee said Annie was handling a lot in her life, such as Richie's death. Kendall said Annie sold Zach out to the police. She explained that Annie told Jesse that Zach assaulted Richie, which made him higher on the suspect list. Greenlee said she did not want to dwell on anger towards anyone ever again. It had given her the strength to forgive Kendall and Aidan for their betrayal. Greenlee said she was very happy with Aidan so Kendall decided not to tell Greenlee that Ryan loved her. When Greenlee saw Ryan at ConFusion, she rushed into his arms and said Kendall had told her everything.
Fletcher came to pick up Randi, but Jesse said Randi had already left. When Fletcher tried to leave, Jesse grabbed his arm and flung him into a chair. Jesse told Fletcher that he did not want him parading any more prostitutes around Pine Valley ever again. When Fletcher showed no interest in leaving town, Jesse said he would arrest Fletcher. Fletcher said Jesse had nothing to charge him with, but Jesse snapped that he would find something to keep Fletcher at the police station. Jesse went home and found Angie worried about Frankie's relationship with Randi. Jesse said Fletcher was not going to be a problem because he was going to jail. Jesse told Angie not to worry about Frankie because he was a smart man.
Frankie was waiting for Randi as she sneaked out the back of the police station. Frankie said Fletcher was going to come after her, but Randi did not care. To keep Randi safe, Frankie offered her $100 for some time. Randi and Frankie went to a hotel room. Frankie just wanted to talk, but Randi was quick to put the moves on him. Frankie said he was not interested in having sex with her. He just wanted to find out more about her. Randi started to walk out of the room after she got frustrated with Frankie's endless questions. When Frankie grabbed Randi's arm, she smacked him across the face. Frankie left information for employment and a key for a safe place to stay if Randi wanted it. He said he would not try to help her again, and left.
Jack arrived at the jail and told Erica he was in the know about her early release. He admitted that although Samuel was the reason that she was locked up in the first place, he was very happy that the senator had finally chosen to do the right thing. He then commended Erica for all she had done while incarcerated, and while she was pleased with the praise, she noted that she couldn't wait to be released. It was then that Jack informed her that as soon as she packed her bags, she would be free to leave. He told her that her paperwork was almost processed and that she would be free within the hour. Erica was quickly overwhelmed with the thought of the freedom that she'd missed during her stint in prison. Jack suggested that she take things one step at a time, as she would have plenty of time to do all of the things that she wanted once she got out. He then said that first her first decision needed to be one about where she wanted to go once she got out. He told her that although Kendall would love it if Erica stayed with them, he would be equally ecstatic if she moved back in with him.
Jack promised that he wasn't trying to make a move on her-he simply wanted to offer a friend a place to stay, especially since all of the kids were gone. Erica thanked him for the offer but said that she needed some time alone. She wanted something more permanent, but would settle for a room at the Yacht Club for the time being. As she mulled over all of the things that would soon change, she mentioned that she would miss all of the friends that she had made while locked up. At that moment, a group of those friends came in with an oversized homemade card that wished Erica the best of luck with her own new beginning. They also gave her other gifts to help her remember them. When they wrapped up the celebration and gave her an award, Erica was prompted to again thank them for everything they had done for her during her stay and told them that she would never forget their friendship.
The ladies surrounded her with a hug and Erica promised that she would stay in touch and send care packages. She then asked if they would help her pack and they readily agreed. After they gathered up all the gifts and headed off, Erica apologized to Jack for being unclear earlier. She told him that she didn't mean to push him away when she noted that she needed space, and specified that she just needed some time to acclimate herself to life outside. Jack said that he understood and was delighted when she suggested that the first thing she wanted to do post-lockup was to have a meal with him. He left to check on the paperwork and Sybil, a new inmate, approached her and said she couldn't leave until she'd gotten one more present. Erica said that she didn't want anything else and requested that she move, but when she wouldn't, Erica called for the guard. Sybil grabbed her then, revealed a shank she'd been holding, and said that Erica wouldn't be going anywhere.
Ryan was stunned when Greenlee said that Kendall had told her everything about his memory coming back. He thought that she knew that he was still in love with her, and when she said that she loved him and it was everything that she wanted, he grabbed her in his arms, with the thought that all his dreams had come true.
Zack carried a passed-out Annie into the hospital and ran into Jake, who wanted to know what happened. Annie started to come around just as Jake ordered her to be placed in a cubicle. He followed the orderlies as Zach reached for his phone.
The confusion continued when Ryan, who still believed that Greenlee knew he was in love with her, asked how Aidan had taken the news. Greenlee innocently told him that she hadn't shared the news with Aidan yet but that he would be fine. Ryan was stunned as Greenlee pulled him over to the bar to ask for more details about what had happened as she noted how great it was that everything had fallen into place. Ryan corrected her and said the course of events was nothing short of amazing. His phone rang just then and when he answered it, Zach told him that he had brought Annie to the hospital and that Ryan needed to get there as soon as possible.
Tad paid Jesse a visit at the police station and it only took a few minutes for the chief to figure out that the ex-PI was bored. He suggested that Tad rethink his retirement, but Tad assured him that he had made the right decision and said that he just needed to find a new hobby. Tad made a few flip suggestions before he noticed some pictures of Richie Novak. He then promised that he wouldn't take up bad habits if Jesse told him about his thoughts on the case. Jesse said that because of the overwhelming amount of people that wanted Richie dead, he had a feeling that the death was not accidental, but rather the result of premeditation. Tad reviewed the case file and thought that Jesse might be onto something. He then asked the chief if he considered Zach a suspect since he brought him into the station. Slightly knocked off guard by Tad's continued contacts, Jesse told him that he had suspected Zach but that the car Slater had driven was clean. Tad asked what the next step was and although Jesse admitted he had something up his sleeve, he declined to talk about it.
After he took a call from the mayor, Jesse wanted to know how he could get rid of Tad. Tad baited him right back when he noted that he planned to investigate matching golf outfits for them. Jesse stopped him and put the jokes aside when he asked if Tad thought he was doing the right thing by digging into the investigation of Richie's death. He pointed out that Richie had done a lot of bad things in town and that part of him felt he should just leave well enough alone. On the flip side, he pointed out that there was a system in place and as chief he should adhere to the rules. Tad said that he believed in Jesse and would support him regardless of the decision he made. Tad started to leave but the arrival of some test results changed his mind. Jesse opened the envelope and was delighted at the results contained within. He told Tad that forensics had been able to lift a set of tire prints from Richie, which indicated that he was not just hit, but run over. In addition, he said that the tires were unique and that the car with those tires had been purchased in Pine Valley. He then handed the paperwork over to Tad so that he could see who had purchased the car.
During lunch with his father at the Valley Inn, Pete told Palmer that although it was an honor to be accepted into Harvard, he felt that he wasn't ready to go. He indicated that he needed time to investigate his other interests and could do so by waiting six months to a year before applying. At that moment, Adam arrived and reintroduced himself to Palmer's son. While Palmer tried to warn Pete that Adam was still one of the enemies, Adam pointed out Palmer's penchant for the overly dramatic, and simply welcomed the lad back to Pine Valley. He then invited himself to the Cortlandt table and, after a few moments, asked Pete to help him get another round of drinks at the bar. Palmer was concerned but sidelined by an incoming call, so he warned his son not to trust Adam. Pete assured his father he would be fine and accompanied Adam to the bar. After they placed their order, Pete started to chat with Adam about the advancements that Chandler Enterprises had made. Adam interrupted him and said that he didn't want to talk about business; rather, he wanted to talk about the crime Pete had committed at his alma mater-rape.
Pete was beside himself with the accusation but Adam quickly let him know that although it wasn't true, he had people on his payroll that would make it believable enough that he would be arrested. Pete wanted to know why Adam would do such a thing so the mogul laid it out for him-because he knew that Colby's car had been involved in an accident, one connected with Richie Novak's death, Pete was now a liability. In order to keep his daughter safe, Adam mentioned that he was willing to send Pete up the river without any regard for the truth.
After Annie was settled in her room and returned to full consciousness, she told Jake that she wasn't sick and didn't know why she passed out. He asked if she was up for a few questions so that her ailments could be determined. After she said she was, he asked if there was a chance she could be pregnant. She hesitated and then told him that there was no chance, as Ryan had had a vasectomy. He continued to ask her questions and when he got to one about something that might have upset her before she passed out, she flashed back to her discussion with Zach and faltered as she tried to answer. She finally said out loud that she didn't remember the conversation, so he let that point go. He asked if she'd been injured recently and she told him that her brother had hit her over the head. She noted that although Angie had wanted her to go to the hospital, she had declined, so an MRI had not been done. Jake told her it was a possible cause and insisted that she have one.
Ryan and Greenlee showed up at the hospital and Ryan quickly took off after Zach told him where Annie was. Once alone, Greenlee surprised Zach when she sounded genuinely concerned about Annie. She continued to surprise him as she delivered all of the good news about how she forgave both Aidan and Kendall, and her excitement over the fact that Ryan's memory came back. As Zach reeled with how all of this made him feel, she told him that the best part was the last because it meant that Ryan was in love with Annie again, and that the change would help Annie out of her funk.
In the cubicle, Jake told Annie and Ryan that her test results came back clear and that he just needed to take some blood before the MRI. He left the room and Annie explained that she might have a concussion. She then apologized for the hospital trip and said that they should be celebrating his memory's return. She told him that she would get over whatever she had as soon as possible so that they could get back to life as they knew it. Ryan then interrupted her gleeful rambling when he asked why she had been with Zach. She tried to play it off and said she just bumped into him, but when Ryan reminded her that she said the call she received at home was from the office, she started to stumble. He asked her why she didn't just tell him the truth and she claimed that she didn't know because her head was fuzzy. Jake returned at that point to draw blood, and Ryan took the opportunity to leave.
Ryan went out to the waiting room and found Zach and Greenlee virtually where he left them. He told Greenlee that he needed to talk to Zach alone and Greenlee immediately removed herself from the room. Ryan explained that he was confused as to why his wife met with Zach and what the secrecy was about. Zach told him that there was no reason why Ryan couldn't have joined them, and Ryan noted that he didn't think Annie wanted him there. Zach said that Annie had secrets that she held with her brother and said he would have to ask her about them if he wanted to know. Ryan confessed that he'd already done that and that Annie had said that she didn't remember. Because he didn't believe her, he decided to confront the only other person that would know. Zach revealed that Annie had pawned her wedding ring to get money for Richie to post bail and leave town. He said that Annie confessed to doing that so she could get Richie out of town and away from the people that she cared about as quickly as possible, but didn't tell Ryan about it because she thought he would be angry with her. Ryan said he wasn't thrilled but that he understood, given that he had done damage control for his brothers before. Zach suggested that he make sure Annie knew how he felt.
Back in her cubicle, Jake finished up with her blood work and took it off to get it processed quickly. After he exited the room, Annie tried to stand and walk around the room a bit. Greenlee stopped in and Annie's mood immediately darkened. Greenlee tried to inquire as to how she was feeling but Annie wanted to know how she'd found out about her trip to the hospital. As soon as Greenlee confessed that she'd been with Ryan when he got the call, Annie felt threatened and demanded that she stop spending time with Ryan because he belonged with her, not Greenlee. Greenlee swore that she knew that and said Annie had no reason to feel threatened but Annie didn't back down and said that the more time Greenlee spent with Ryan, the more opportunities she had to turn him against Annie. Greenlee said she wouldn't do that but Annie, disbelieving, grabbed Greenlee's hair and said that if Greenlee didn't do as asked, Annie would step in and make it happen. Annie then started to feel weak and began to fall over. Although she didn't know why, Greenlee instantly stopped her fair-weather friend from falling to the ground.
Greenlee helped her back into bed and then curtly told Annie that she had nothing to worry about since Greenlee was back with Aidan and that all had been forgiven. Greenlee noted that she had even included Annie on the forgiveness list until she realized that Annie's issues were about more than stress. Annie, still perturbed, demanded again that Greenlee stay away from Ryan and Greenlee bequeathed Ryan to her without a second thought. Jake came back as Greenlee was on her way out, and Greenlee took a moment to tell him that he needed to keep Annie away from sharp objects. Jake shook his head as he watched his roommate leave and then turned his full attention to his patient. He told Annie that he got the rest of the results back and that she wouldn't need an MRI after all.
Jesse visited Adam at home and asked how his new car had managed to mow down Richie Novak. Adam tried to make it appear as though it were a ludicrous claim that he had any involvement in Richie's death, but when Jesse revealed that he had forensic evidence, Adam claimed that he had reported it stolen and nothing had come of it.
Zach excused himself and placed a call to Kendall to let her know what had happened. Greenlee returned to the room at that moment and told Ryan she had just been in to visit Annie and asked what he planned to do about her. Before he could answer, Jake returned to the room as well and informed Ryan that Annie would be discharged but that he would let Annie tell him what they'd discovered. Jake left and when Ryan delayed leaving, Greenlee urged him to go and said that they could talk later. Ryan then went to Annie's room and when he got to the door, he found Annie on the bed, wiping away her tears. He approached her and asked what could be wrong, since she was being released. She smiled and said that a miracle had happened-Jake had told her that she was pregnant.
Zach returned to the waiting room and asked for an update on Annie. Greenlee said that she didn't know specifics but that Annie must be okay because Jake discharged her. Then, to Zack's amusement, she revealed that Annie was back off the forgiveness list because she had threatened Greenlee for talking to Ryan.
