Deacon, Bridget, Brooke, and Whip had dinner together. Bridget had many questions for Whip and Brooke about their relationship, and Whip was more than happy to answer them, which left Deacon seething. Bridget let it slip that Brooke "loved" Deacon; acting stunned, Whip admitted his "true feelings" also. Bridget continued to ask questions, and Whip had fun egging Deacon on. Deacon asked a question and used Whipple, which embarrassed Whip at first, but later he took it in stride, which irked Deacon even more.
Taylor and Stephanie talked about and discussed Stephanie's situation with Eric. Stephanie said she would never respect Eric again. Even through all the bad times, she had always respected him, but she wasn't sure if she could do that any longer. Taylor asked what role Massimo had in all of it, but before Stephanie could answer, Ridge interrupted. The kids started to argue, so Stephanie went into the house to play with them, and the doorbell rang. Taylor answered it, and it was Massimo.
Massimo watched Stephanie playing with the children. Ridge and Taylor took the little ones up to bed, and Massimo stated how beautiful their family was. Stephanie told him to be quiet; someone might hear him. He told her that he didn't care; he was going to tell Ridge when Ridge returned downstairs. Stephanie said he couldn't do that and asked about her marriage. "It's already over," he stated.
Meanwhile Eric reminisced about his past with Stephanie and observed how lonely it was without her there. He wondered how she had done it so long when she was the one who had been alone. He called her, and she was reluctant to pick up. Massimo told her not to, but she did anyway. Eric asked her to return home, but she told him that she couldn't.
Eric told Stephanie that she had to go home so that they could work on their marriage. She told him that their marriage was more important to her than it was to him, or he would never have made the type of decision he had made. He told her that it had only been business and begged her to return home.
At home and alone, Eric telephoned Stephanie over at Ridge and Taylor's home to try to convince her to return to him. Eric tried his best to explain to Stephanie that he had handled the situation at Forrester Creations the way he had thought it should be handled and that Ridge had backed him into a corner. All Stephanie understood about the situation was that Eric had chosen to side with Brooke and Rick over Stephanie and Ridge.
Eric suspected by Stephanie's attitude that Massimo was there with her. Stephanie admitted that he was indeed there but said that he had nothing to do with the rift between the two of them. Stephanie refused to have Eric go there and take her home with him. Eric discovered a photo of Massimo and Stephanie, from many years before, in Stephanie's wallet. Eric wondered what the real story was between Massimo and Stephanie
Massimo offered to take Ridge, Taylor, and Stephanie on a vacation. Taylor and Ridge nixed the idea because of work and Ridge's doctor's appointments. Stephanie rejected the idea because she couldn't be happy while Eric was hurting so badly. Taylor urged Massimo not to take too much pleasure in Stephanie and Eric's separation because it was the breakup of a family. Massimo advised Stephanie and Ridge not to view the rift as a tragedy but rather as an opportunity for better things.
At the Café Russe, Whip continued to play the part of the father of Brooke's baby. While dancing with Brooke, he tried to disarm her by complimenting her about what a fine job she had done parenting Bridget. He tried to assure Brooke that he wouldn't divulge her secret to Bridget. For a brief moment, Brooke enjoyed Whip's company and was laughing at his jokes.
Bridget cut in to Brooke and Whip's dance. While Deacon danced with Brooke, he was upset that she was acting as though she was enjoying Whip's company. Deacon advised her that it was more than money that Whip wanted from her. Deacon told Brooke that he had noticed the way that Whip had been looking at her.
Meanwhile, while dancing with Bridget, Whip tried to befriend her. Bridget was enthralled with Whip. She welcomed him into their family and told him she would help him with any family adjustment problems. Deacon sent Bridget to the car so he could speak to Brooke and Whip.
Deacon offered to give Brooke a ride home. Brooke didn't want to arouse Bridget's suspicion and refused the ride. Deacon warned Whip that if Whip laid a hand on Brooke, Deacon would hunt Whip down. When Whip dropped Brooke at home, he told her that he wanted to be the special person in her life.
Back at home, Deacon gazed longingly at Brooke's picture and assured himself that Whip wouldn't do anything to Brooke when they were alone. Bridget walked into the room, wearing a sexy black teddy. Deacon told her that his "good girl's gone bad." As they kissed, the phone rang, and Bridget told Deacon not to answer it.
An edgy Deacon jumped up anyway and answered the phone, hoping that it was Brooke. It was only a telemarketer, much to the disappointment of Deacon. "What the hell is the matter with you?" asked Bridget, very frustrated. Practically in tears, Bridget begged Deacon to tell her what she was doing wrong. She pleaded with Deacon to tell her the truth because she deserved to know.
Deacon then told her that he was worried about Whip because there was a side to him that she didn't know. Bridget defended Whip by saying that he was single and smart and had a lot to offer. That was more than she could say for her mother's other choices in men. She asked Deacon to get over his bad feelings for Whip.
Bridget went on to say that some models talked about how sexy Whip was in the bedroom and that her mother was probably having the best sex that night. Deacon exploded when he heard that and told Bridget that he didn't want to hear any more. Again, Bridget pleaded with Deacon to tell her what was wrong.
Alone with Brooke, Whip admired her incredible house as she fixed him a nightcap. Brooke told Whip that she had a hard time figuring him out. She said sometimes he would torture her, and at other times, he would be just the opposite. Whip then began to massage her foot.
Whip reassured Brooke that he was there to take care of all of her needs -- including sex. Brooke adamantly stated that they were not going to have sex together. Whip said smugly, "Don't be ridiculous, of course we are!" Brooke again stated that nothing sexual would ever happen between them.
Whip, however, was prepared for an evening of romance, and even had a condom with him. When Brooke saw it, she called it disgusting and suggested that Whip go home and rent a video or maybe even call an escort service. Whip assured Brooke that she loved having sex and that she needed sex in her life. He made reference to Brooke's sexy teddy ads and again hinted that she loved having sex.
Whip wanted to know if Brooke was saving herself for Deacon. Brooke admitted that there was no hope with Deacon. Whip encouraged her to move on with her life and to "let go so Deacon can let go." Whip said that her feelings for Deacon weren't fair for either of them. He asked her to "cut ties with the past."
Deacon called Brooke, asking her if she was all right. Brooke told him that he shouldn't have called because he had a wife who needed him. Brooke told Deacon what Bridget had told her. He was shutting out Bridget.
Brooke implored Deacon to make Bridget his number one priority. She told a stunned Deacon that she was "moving on with [her] life." After saying goodbye and hanging up the phone, Brooke whispered to Deacon that she loved him.
As Deacon gulped some whiskey, Bridget announced that she wanted to apologize for her behavior. At that instant, Deacon ripped off his shirt and began passionately kissing Bridget. He then made intense love to her. After the steamy sex, Bridget playfully took a puff of his cigarette and told her husband that his lovemaking was amazing. Deacon told his wife that he was putting her first from that point on.
Whip admired Brooke for saying the right thing to Deacon. He said that Deacon and Bridget would have a happy marriage. Brooke admitted to Whip that she loved Deacon more each day. Whip couldn't understand how she could love Deacon, since "he smells like an ashtray and dresses like a mortician." "Why would you want to have a scum like Deacon when you have me?" Whip asked.
Brooke told him that he only saw Deacon's surface and not the person she knew. Brooke said that Deacon was kind, brave, and generous. Whip chimed in by stating that he also had those traits. Whip kissed Brooke on the forehead and said that he'd quit while he was ahead. Leaving, Whip told Brooke that he felt good about the progress that they had made that night.
