In Eric's office, Ridge and Brooke kissed. Brooke proposed that they work out in the company gym. Ridge thought she was talking about his pudge, but she clarified that she needed to get in shape and look good for the Bedroom line.
R.J. arrived with Ridge's pizza, and his parents noticed something was wrong with him. He said it was about Luna's mother, Poppy. R.J. wasn't sure if he should talk about it with them. Brooke asked what it was, and R.J. revealed that Luna had found Tom Starr's backpack. It had just shown up at Luna and Poppy's apartment, full of letters claiming that he was Luna's biological father.
Later, R.J. shared Katie's theory, and Ridge sighed heavily at the notion that Poppy was responsible for two deaths. R.J. wondered how Hollis had gotten dragged into it. Brooke replied that they didn't know what "this" was. Claiming not to want to spread information, R.J. said the letters were proof that Tom had been pressuring Poppy, and it wasn't a stretch to think Poppy might do something to stop him.
Brooke reasoned that Poppy had gotten a DNA test to prove Bill wasn't the father, but it had turned out that he was. Ridge murmured that tests weren't foolproof. Brooke wondered if Poppy had felt cornered by Tom, causing her to do the unthinkable. R.J. didn't agree with Katie but couldn't dismiss her ideas, either. R.J. and Ridge agreed that murder for the proposed motive was a bit extreme. R.J. said it would devastate Luna if it were true.
Ridge continued to point the finger at Sheila. Brooke agreed but could understand her sister's opinion. Ridge asked what Katie intended to do with the information. R.J. worried about Luna if the police questioned Poppy.
At Il Giardino, Liam and Will met for lunch. Liam joked that Will had forgotten he had an older brother. Liam was glad not to be on video chat and joked that they made Will look fat. Liam brought up Will's awkward return home and figured Poppy had been mortified, too. Will said Poppy wasn't what he had thought she'd be, and he had his doubts about Poppy and Luna.
Liam asked how Will felt about Luna. For Will, it was too soon to really know, but he thought it was really strange that the woman had suddenly decided to do a paternity test and had hit paydirt overnight. Will noted that Poppy and Luna were living large in what had once been Will's home. Liam replied that it was still Will's home. Will knew it but said Bill was very different due to the Nozawa women. Liam wasn't ready to form an opinion because he hadn't spent a lot of time with them, but it was apparent to him that Will thought Luna and Poppy were questionable.
Will wondered if Bill was in love with Poppy and had gotten over Katie. Liam declared that Bill would never get over Katie, and he had a son with her. Will replied that Bill had a daughter with Poppy. Liam acknowledged it but said Bill hadn't gotten where he was without reading people exceptionally well. Will agreed but remained leery of Poppy.
At Bill's house, Luna entered behind her mother as Katie announced that she was there to warn Bill about Poppy. Poppy called Katie a jealous ex-wife who was constantly invading their lives and causing trouble. Poppy asked Katie to leave. "Are you ordering me out of Bill's house?" Katie asked. Poppy said she was being as polite as she could be, but Katie refused to go.
Katie asserted that Poppy had motive to kill. Poppy asked how many times she had to say she'd had nothing to do with the deaths, but Katie claimed that the facts spoke for themselves. Two men had overdosed on the same drug. Poppy deemed it a coincidence, but Katie asked if the backpack full of letters from Tom, claiming to be Luna's father, was a coincidence, too.
Poppy gazed at Luna, who looked away. Katie continued, saying she'd talked to Sheila, who had spoken to Hollis about the backpack the day he'd died. Katie claimed that two people who'd known about the letters that could upend Poppy's life with Bill had mysteriously died of the same drug. Luna interjected that the deaths were senseless accidents.
Poppy asked how Katie had known about the letters, and Katie readily revealed that it had been R.J. "Did you...?" Poppy said to Luna. Luna began stammering that she'd been upset. Poppy guessed R.J. had run straight to his aunt. Katie said he hadn't really wanted to tell Katie about Poppy's secret meeting with Tom before his death or that Poppy had told Luna not to worry because Poppy had taken matters into her own hands.
Katie claimed it didn't take a genius to see that Poppy had killed because Hollis and Tom had been in the way of Poppy's life with Bill. Bill asked why Poppy had gone to see Tom. Poppy informed him that she'd told Tom to stop harassing them because she had a paternity test that proved Bill was Luna's father. Bill claimed he had people who could have handled it, and he asked why she'd gone alone in secret.
Poppy admitted that, in hindsight, she should have gone to him first, but Katie said Poppy hadn't known if Bill would send her packing for keeping the truth from him. Poppy asked Bill not to listen to Katie, who didn't know what she was talking about. Katie insisted that she did. She told Bill to get another test to ensure Luna was his daughter.
There was a knock at the door. "I'll get that," Katie said, taking it upon herself to answer the door. Chief Baker entered, and Katie announced that she'd called him and told him what she'd learned about Poppy. There to follow up, Baker said they'd gotten a search warrant for Poppy's apartment, and that had been where they'd found "this." He pointed to Tom's backpack.
Poppy asserted that she hadn't done anything wrong. Chief Baker said he was there with evidence. Bill replied that he knew all about the backpack and letters. Baker asked if they'd talked about what else had been in the backpack, and he pulled out a baggie containing a pill case that looked like Poppy's mints case. "Drugs," Baker stated.
Baker guessed Bill recognized the case. Poppy said it was insane. She didn't know how the backpack had gotten into her apartment or about the tin or drugs. Katie asserted that it was the same drug Poppy took, but Baker added that it was laced. Poppy denied it, asking Bill to believe her. Baker said she'd been with Tom before he'd died, the drugs connected her to both crimes, and they had motive and evidence. Baker announced that they were taking her in.
Luna asked if Poppy had really done it. Poppy denied it. Luna asked if Bill was really her father. Poppy affirmed it, saying Li had done the test. Poppy swore she was innocent, and the police and Katie were wrong. Bill told Baker to do what he had to do, but Bill hoped none of it was true. The police handcuffed Poppy, and Baker read Poppy her Miranda rights and took her away.
At Eric's house, a party was in full swing, with models, dressed in lingerie, serving guests. Hope tossed back the Champagne. Steffy stood with Finn, glaring at Brooke, who was across the room, chatting with Ridge and Carter. Pam remarked to Donna and Eric that when she'd agreed to cater, she hadn't known what the servers would be wearing. Eric said they were celebrating the success of Brooke's Bedroom.
Finn told Steffy that he liked spending time with her family, but she mumbled that it wasn't all family. Hope approached, wondering if Steffy would speak on Brooke's success, but Steffy claimed it was early for speeches. Hope called everyone's attention to her, and she thanked Eric and Donna for hosting. Hope toasted to the iconic Brooke Logan, who'd reminded everyone how valuable she was to Forrester and the fashion world.
Later, Brooke thanked Hope for the nice words. Brooke wouldn't take all the credit and noted that it had been a team effort. Brooke hoped they could secure the soundtrack deal.
Hope approached Ridge, Steffy, and Finn. Hope thanked Ridge for his wisdom in putting Brooke back in the spotlight. Ridge said it was paying off. Finn added that everyone had a lot to be proud of, and Forrester was in good hands. Hope downed more Champagne.
By the mirror, Pam decided that Donna had primped enough, but Donna said there wasn't enough primping when it came to a visit from Danny Romalotti. Donna was bummed she'd missed the concert the previous night. Low-key screaming, she announced that he'd be there.
Donna was starstruck when Danny arrived with Christine. Danny greeted Donna by name. She stammered, only managing to say, "I love you." Everyone in the room claimed to be fans of Danny, but Danny said he was a fan of Brooke and Ridge. Christine congratulated Ridge on his success and Brooke for being front and center again. Hope and Steffy scowled at each other.
Ridge asked Danny how his tour was going. Danny said he loved it and that the best part about it was "being with Cricket." Brooke told Danny that she and her sisters had worn out his records while growing up. Danny offered Donna the VIP treatment at his next show.
Danny and Christine were grateful to partake in the Brooke's Bedroom celebration, and Christine said she was glad to see Ridge again under better circumstances. Eric thanked her for the work she'd put in on Ridge's case. The topic turned back to the Bedroom Line's powerful campaign and message. Brooke was looking to pull more stars in, but Danny said there was none bigger than she.
Donna took pictures of Danny with Brooke. Christine joined in. Donna handed Eric the camera and squeezed into the frame. After a couple frames, she edged Christine and Brooke out to pose with Danny alone. Steffy looked disgusted with them.
Christine said she loved all the designs and asked if Brooke had a favorite. "I'll bet he does," Danny murmured. Ridge said they were all his favorites because he'd designed them all for Brooke. Danny kissed Christine and said he and Ridge were lucky to have their muses.
Brooke informed Danny that the party was for him and his unwavering support of her line. He'd been vocal about Brooke's Bedroom, and they'd decided to use his music in their campaign. As Danny tried to say he was busy with his concert, Christine pulled an offer note out of Carter's hand and announced, "He's doing it!" Danny read the dollar amount on paper and agreed.
Ridge announced the new partnership to everyone in the room. Pam griped to Steffy about her modest event being ruined by the Logans and "their wiggle and their jiggle." Pam wondered if it would ever end. She was upset that models were parading around in their underwear in Stephanie's home, and she decided that Stephanie's namesake needed to do something about it.
Later, a lingerie-clad server told Pam that they needed more pigs in a blanket. Pam snapped that the server was the one who needed a blanket.
Ridge told everyone that Brooke hadn't been sure about the line, but he'd been sure because Brooke always brought electricity and a spark to things. Brooke thanked him for convincing her to do it. Steffy gazed on with contempt. Hope agreed with Ridge and said the buyers and clients loved seeing Brooke at the center again.
As everyone toasted, Steffy felt compelled to speak. She said she couldn't think of a better way to celebrate than to put the focus where it belonged -- on her father. She then thanked her COO for his leadership, and the absent Zende for the media drop. Steffy thanked Danny and Christine for their presence. Steffy glanced at Pam and then recognized Brooke for giving it her all. Steffy admitted that Brooke's Bedroom was a hit and a big contribution to Forrester.
Brooke thanked Steffy and insisted that it couldn't have happened without everyone. Brooke welcomed Danny and Christine into the Forrester family. Brooke then thanked Hope for her love and support. Not forgetting Ridge, Brooke said he was the other half of her, a talented designer, and the love of her life. Hope toasted to Brooke and led the models in chanting Brooke's name. Steffy finally smiled as everyone toasted. Hope gazed in triumph at Steffy.
At Bill's house, Luna was a wreck after the police had taken her mother. Bill said they'd figure it out, but Katie told Bill to let the police handle it. Luna yelled that she wouldn't just sit there. Katie tried to empathize with Luna and said the police would let Poppy go if it was nothing; however, Katie believed Poppy had had a motive for murder. Luna asked Bill if he really believed Poppy could kill someone.
Katie explained that she hadn't told the police to arrest Poppy. "They found evidence," Katie said. Luna asked Bill to believe in Poppy. Bill said his feelings didn't matter, and they had to let the police do their jobs. He reminded Luna that Sheila had been released, and the same thing would happen with Poppy in a few days. Luna scoffed. She wanted her mom right then.
Bill offered to be there for Luna, but she stomped off. Alone with Bill, Katie asked what he thought of Poppy's arrest. Bill didn't know what to think, but he had to protect Luna and didn't want to believe Poppy had been involved. He reasoned that Poppy had told him the whole history with Tom Starr, so it hadn't been a secret she'd kill to keep.
Katie figured that Poppy had other secrets, and only God knew what else the police would dig up. Bill decided he'd deal with it when it happened. Katie said it wasn't like him to wait and see. He insisted that it was exactly what he'd do for Luna's sake. Katie advised Bill to question everything because Tom had called and written for years. Bill replied that Tom had been wrong. She asked if Bill was sure. "Maybe Luna's not your daughter, after all," Katie reasoned.
Katie claimed she didn't want to upset Bill or turn Luna's life upside down, but she insisted that whatever was going on could be dangerous. Bill tried to reassure Katie, but she refused to let him be cavalier about a woman who'd been arrested for murder. Katie cried that she was trying to look after him -- and not just because he was Will's father.
Bill thanked Katie for still caring about him. Katie said he'd given her Will, and he was one of the most important people in her life. Their time together had made her who she was, so she wouldn't stand by and do nothing if he was in danger. She claimed she was scared for him, not judgmental or jealous. She urged him to do another paternity test and find out what was going on.
At Bill's house, Katie urged Bill to get another paternity test, insisting that Poppy had been willing to kill even at the suggestion that Tom was Luna's father. Bill said that hadn't been proven. Katie said the police had arrested Poppy for a reason, and if she was capable of murder, she was capable of faking a test. She implored him to do a new test that day.
Luna returned to the room, saying she'd been unable to rest. She cried, upset that her mother was in jail. Bill hugged her.
Later, Bill and Luna were alone. He guessed it was a scary time for her because she'd always had her mom. Luna said Poppy might go away for a crime Luna knew Poppy hadn't committed. Bill stated that he'd be there if the unthinkable happened, and he'd do anything he could for her. He promised she wouldn't be alone and would always have her father.
Luna said she wouldn't hold Bill to it. He asserted that she could and should, but Luna offered to go back to her apartment. Bill didn't want that and reminded her that the building was about to be demolished. He needed her to know that he was there for her, his home was her home, and she'd always have her father. They hugged.
Bill was impressed with the grace and dignity Luna was showing. She said it was a façade. He knew she was trying to be strong, and he promised they'd get to the bottom of it. As he hugged Luna, he recalled Katie asking him to get another DNA test.
In the design office, Katie watched Will arrive at her behest. He asked what his father had done that time. Katie informed Will that Poppy had been arrested for the overdoses at Il Giardino. Will was freaked out by the news, but Katie assured him that the police had reacted quickly, so Bill wasn't in danger. Will said it was insane. Katie remarked that Poppy could have also faked the paternity test, so Katie had urged Bill to get another one.
Will remarked that Katie still cared about Bill, even after all the hurt he'd caused her. Katie agreed. She hugged Will and smiled sadly.
At Eric's house, the party continued with the DJs working in lingerie. Donna, still fan-struck, told Eric she'd written fan letters to Danny -- and maybe a little fan fiction. Taking her into his arms, Eric asked her to tell him about it later that night.
In the foyer, Ridge, Brooke, Carter, Christine, and Danny discussed the sales and buzz Brooke's Bedroom had received. Christine bashfully admitted that she was part of creating the sales and buzz.
Across the room, Finn asked if his wife was okay with all the focus on Brooke. Steffy viewed it as a focus on Forrester's success and the partnership with Danny. Brooke approached to thank Steffy again for her kind words and support. Steffy said Brooke's success was Steffy's, too. Hope swooped in, waving a glass of Champagne, glad to hear it, because the Logans would bring success for years to come.
Nearby, Pam and Donna asked Christine and Danny about life on the road. Christine said she loved it but admitted she wasn't doing all the work. Danny said it was great with her there. Donna mentioned that they'd been sold out the previous night, and she'd missed it. Danny invited Donna and Pam for the VIP treatment in Santa Barbara, and the women bumped fists.
Brooke returned, and Donna took pictures of her with Christine and Danny. Steffy watched with a long face. Finn, who knew it was hard for his wife, said he was there for her. As Steffy and Finn kissed, Hope watched with interest. When Brooke saw Hope, Brooke looked worried.
Danny was excited to be a part of Brooke's line and mentioned that it was as if they both were reinventing themselves and putting it out there in the public eye again. Christine said Danny wasn't doing it in his underwear, but Brooke was pulling it off. Christine wanted to see if Lauren had gotten some of the merchandise. Carter said Lauren had and was one of their biggest customers. Everyone posed to take a selfie for Lauren.
With Steffy and Finn, Hope waited for the photo-taking and mentioned her mom getting long-overdue accolades. Steffy said the revenue was all that mattered.
Ridge joined Brooke and the others as talk about Brooke's message extended to HFTF. Christine hoped it wasn't true that the line was struggling. Behind Christine, Hope stammered that her line had been in transition for the last couple of quarters, but it had Forrester's complete commitment. "Isn't that right, Steffy?" Hope said. Steffy stared wide-eyed at Hope's audacity.
Later, Danny's music played through the room, and Danny handed the DJ a drive to use later. Across the room, Brooke thanked Steffy again for the things she'd said, and they agreed that the success that day belonged to everyone, including Steffy. Brooke wanted to get along -- no more Logans versus Forresters. Brooke was sick of it and said she and Hope didn't want to cause Steffy any problems. "I mean that," Brooke said, and Steffy smiled.
Brooke returned to Ridge's side. He'd seen her with Steffy and thanked Brooke. Brooke said they were family and would work it out. Ridge believed it. He hugged Brooke, but her smile faded as she watched Hope gazing at Finn.
Later, everyone had gathered as Ridge finished speaking about the partnership. He asked if Danny wanted to say anything. Danny revealed that Cricket had encouraged him to sing a song for his superfan Donna, but in light of the partnership, he was doing it for all of Forrester. "Brooke's Bedroom, are you ready to rock on?" he asked.
Everyone danced as Danny performed "Rock On." Donna almost fainted when he sang a lyric to her. Steffy backed out of the room to take a call. Hope danced into the foyer where Finn was. She set her glass down, pushed him against a wall around the corner by the stairs, and kissed him. Finn pushed her back and looked at her in shock.
At the cliff house, Steffy was grateful for some coffee after the Brooke fest the previous night. Finn guessed it had gone well. Steffy agreed, saying Brooke had promised that she and Hope weren't out to cause Steffy problems. Finn said he needed to talk to Steffy about something, but she asked if they could do it that evening, when he'd have her full attention.
After Steffy had gone, Finn text-messaged Hope to meet him at his office right away.
In the design office, Hope seemed ill as she looked at Steffy's framed magazine cover. She flashed back to Finn's shock that she'd kissed him. Brooke arrived, noted Hope's mood, and reassured her that the Bedroom line could cover HFTF's costs. Hope was still ill at ease, causing Brooke to wonder if Hope's mood had to do with Finn.
Hope had been thinking about the kind of mother and woman she wanted to be, and she admitted she wasn't setting the example she wished to set. Brooke asked if something had happened with Finn. Hope stated that stuffing it down hadn't worked. Brooke asked if Hope's attraction to Finn had to do with Steffy. Hope didn't know, but she felt lost in a vicious cycle. She said that all that kept her hanging on was being with Finn and seeing that there might be someone out there for her.
Brooke insisted that it wouldn't be Finn. Hope knew that, but she feared that she had ruined all of it. Hope received a text message and abruptly took off. Brooke asked Hope to wait, to no avail.
In Finn's office later, Finn was upset with Hope. He said he was committed to his wife, and he hadn't known what had possessed Hope to cross that line. Hope said she didn't known what had come over her. She hadn't expected to act on it, but she said he knew how she felt about him. "I am married to Steffy!" he yelled. Hope knew it and said she was incredibly sorry.
Hope tried to convince Finn that it wasn't who she was. She said she'd been fighting not to be like her mother, and he had her word that it wouldn't happen again. Finn definitively agreed that it would not. Hope wished to forget it had happened, and she wanted to keep it between them.
Finn asked if Hope was serious. He recalled that she'd said she cared about him, so he didn't know why she'd put him in that position. First, she'd kissed him, and next, she'd asked him to keep it a secret. He said he'd worked hard to regain Steffy's trust, and he had to work to prove he was worthy of her trust. Finn had felt for Hope's situation, and he'd tried to broker peace between the families. He took exception to being asked to lie.
Hope admitted that it was her mistake, and sharing it would cause more damage than it was worth. Finn refused to keep secrets from his wife. He said Steffy needed to know what Hope had done, and Steffy wasn't going to like it.
At Bill's house, Bill received a call from Katie, who didn't want him to put off taking another DNA test. Bill revealed that he'd bought the test, but he wasn't ready to broach the topic with Luna. Katie insisted that he needed to know for sure. She said she'd always care about what happened to him. He thanked her for her support and promised to update her later.
In Eric's office, Katie had just ended a call with Bill when Ridge arrived. He asked what Bill had done that time. Katie replied that it was Poppy, who'd just been arrested. Ridge said R.J. had told him Katie's theory, but Ridge still believed it could be Sheila. Katie asked if she was the only one who saw through Poppy. Ridge said it was obvious that Katie still cared about Bill.
Later, Brooke had joined Ridge and Katie's conversation and was surprised to hear about Poppy. Steffy arrived, and Katie informed Steffy about Poppy's arrest. Katie told them about Tom's backpack and the letters that had been in it. She explained that Poppy had seen Tom before his performance, and she'd taken drugs. Upset, Steffy asserted that it was Luna's mom, Finn's aunt.
Brooke wondered if Tom Starr could be Luna's father. Ridge said Li had performed the test that had deemed Bill the father. Katie replied that Poppy couldn't be trusted, and she hoped that Bill listened to her and retested himself and Luna.
Later, Brooke and Steffy were alone. Steffy was worried about Finn, who'd grown up around his aunt. Steffy said his birth mother was a murderer, "and now his aunt?" Steffy wanted to be there for Finn the way he was for her. Brooke was sure Steffy would be, and Brooke noted that the couple was stronger than ever.
Steffy said she'd told Finn that Brooke had stated that she and Hope wouldn't interfere in Steffy's life. Brooke replied that she'd meant it. Steffy hoped it was the same for Hope.
Back at Bill's house, Luna entered the room, wishing Poppy's arrest had been a nightmare, not real life. Bill didn't want to make the situation worse, but he felt that they had to be absolutely sure. "Sure about what?" Luna asked, and Bill held up a DNA test. Luna scoffed. Bill said some doubts had been raised, and he was doing it for both of them. He wanted her to be his daughter, and he believed they were better off knowing. Luna agreed to take the test.
Luna watched as Bill conducted the test. He said it would be two stripes to confirm and one to deny. The sound of a ticking clock played as they paced and waited. Bill told her that they had to be certain. She felt certain that he was her dad. Bill said he wanted to be her father and said she'd been the unexpected addition he'd needed in his life. He reiterated that he wanted her to be his daughter.
An alarm chimed. Bill lifted the test and read it. She asked what it said and if he was her father.
Finn repeated that he needed to tell Steffy that Hope had kissed him "in the middle of the party" at the Forrester house. Hope called the kiss a "reckless, impulsive decision" that had been fueled by alcohol. Hope continued to apologize, but Finn cut her off. He said that Steffy had told him to steer clear of Hope, and Finn admitted that he regretted having befriended Hope.
Hope insisted that the kiss between her and Finn meant nothing. Finn held up his hand and remarked that his wedding ring did mean something. Hope worried that if Finn told Steffy about the kiss, it would cause the simmering Forrester/Logan feud to erupt. Finn admitted that reigniting that war would be an unfortunate consequence, but he repeated his belief that Steffy needed to know what had happened.
Finn asked Hope why she'd kissed him. Hope wasn't sure. Finn believed that Hope was trying to get under Steffy's skin. Finn refused to get caught in the middle of a Steffy/Hope war. He declared that his days as a "peacemaker" were over. "You really screwed things up," Finn snapped as he walked out of his office. Alone, Hope whispered, "I'm sorry" as she sank into a chair.
Later, Hope returned to the design studio at Forrester Creations. She could not silence Finn's voice in her head. She heard him saying over and over how she'd screwed things up.
Steffy was rummaging through the refrigerator when she heard a car horn honk outside her home. A look of confusion quickly turned to excited shock as Steffy said, "No way!" Steffy squealed as Taylor approached and gave her "beautiful daughter" a hug. Steffy looked at her mother in disbelief.
Steffy confessed that she had been jealous when she'd learned that Taylor had been spending time with Thomas, Douglas, and Paris in France. Taylor beamed as she talked about how "smitten" Thomas was with his new life.
Taylor quickly turned the topic to life in Los Angeles and wanted to know what was happening at Forrester Creations. Steffy expressed her displeasure with Brooke "flexing" at the company and with Ridge's decision to focus more on design. "I don't trust Brooke, and I certainly do not trust Hope," Steffy said coldly.
Steffy didn't want to spend her time with Taylor by venting about Hope. Taylor asked if Hope was "turning into her mother." Steffy flatly replied, "I wouldn't put it past her." Taylor assured Steffy that Finn was a "loving, loyal husband." Steffy told her mother again how happy she was to have Taylor back. Steffy then joked that she was going to hide Taylor's passport so that Taylor could never leave.
Shortly after Taylor headed upstairs to freshen up, a frantic Finn returned home and told Steffy that they needed to talk about Hope.
Poppy was led into a visitor room at the county jail. Her eyes welled with tears when Li turned around and greeted her. "I couldn't resist seeing my little sister in jail," Li grumbled. Poppy insisted that she hadn't killed Hollis and Tom. Li begrudgingly agreed. "You're a lot of things, but a murderer?" Li replied.
Li sat frozen and emotionless as Poppy professed her innocence. Poppy pointed out that she hadn't even been able to kill a spider when they'd been kids. "Always were a softie," Li replied. Li leaned forward and took Poppy's hands. Li said that she believed Poppy. Poppy burst into tears. Her attention then switched to Luna as Poppy said that she was relieved that Luna had her father in her life.
At Bill's estate, Luna nervously asked Bill for the results of the DNA test. "Two stripes, you're my dad, and one stripe you're not," she said nervously. "It's one stripe," Bill struggled to respond. "You're not my dad?" a brokenhearted Luna asked. Bill shook his head. He walked to Luna and pulled her into a hug. A devastated Luna stood motionless.
As Luna struggled to process the news, Bill reminded her that he had vowed to always be by her side. "You will always have a special place in my heart," Bill said. Luna and Bill collectively wondered if Poppy had somehow tampered with the initial DNA test and if it were all part of some bigger plan.
Bill surmised that if he were not Luna's father, then Tom Starr had to have been. "And now he's dead," Luna noted. Bill was certain that Tom would have "adored" Luna if he'd been given the chance. Luna wondered if Poppy had killed Tom to prevent Tom from getting to know her. Bill admitted that he couldn't wrap his head around what was going on.
Bill lamented the loss of the family that he'd envisioned in his mind, but he promised that Luna was not alone. "This is a loss for both of us," Bill said as he tried to fight back his tears. Luna thanked Bill for having filled a void in her life. Luna sat down on the sofa and told Bill that her entire life had been filled with uncertainty. "I had no stability, no friends, no childhood," she sobbed.
Luna recalled how proud she'd been of herself when she'd landed her internship at Forrester Creations. "What you've given me was like the greatest gift," Luna said. She added that she was "so enormously grateful" for Bill.
"No, you're not my dad, but you're just a man. You're the most compassionate, strong, beautiful, incredible man I've ever met," Luna continued. Luna reached out and pulled Bill into an embrace. She pulled away momentarily to look at Bill before leaning forward and kissing him. As Luna pulled away, Bill looked at her in shock. Luna, however, smiled slightly. Then her smile became something much different.
