The Netflix film Roped has been one of the most romantic releases of the year, and that might have a little something to do with the fact that the film's two leads -- Josh Swickard (Harrison Chase, General Hospital) and Lorynn York -- ended up falling in love during filming of the heartwarming movie and got married afterward!
In an interview with Metro UK, the couple opens up about their incredible love story and how it blossomed while they were playing their Roped characters, Colton and Tracy, a cowboy and a councilman's daughter who fall in love, much to the councilman's chagrin.
"The first time I met Josh was only two days before filming started because he wasn't actually the first choice for Colton," York reveals. "The other person didn't know how to ride horses so they ended up taking Josh, and I'm so thankful about that."
Swickard says that while sparks definitely flew between them upon their first meeting, they decided not to act on their feelings until after they had finished filming.
"I think we both just felt it is smarter to keep work as work," he shares. "But obviously we felt that connection so afterwards we started to hang out."
One thing led to another, and now the pair is set to celebrate their first wedding anniversary this July! And the thing that makes it extra special is that, due to the film being shopped around for quite some time, it was released after they were a married couple.
"It was such a trip to watch the film together for the first time when we were married in real life," Swickard explains. "The film was packaged and shopped around for a long time so we had to wait a while to see it. We are so thankful it ended up on Netflix!"
If that isn't enough to melt your heart, maybe this will: the couple admits that they enjoy the idea that their future children will be able to watch the moment when their parents feel in love.
Says York, "It's the kind of film where a ten-year-old kid can watch it so we don't have to worry about one thing when it comes to showing that later on... This was such a sweet little movie that was just so meant to be, in every single aspect."
She continues, "I love that all the fans are loving our love story and have been watching our wedding video, too. The fact that they are on board with us as a real couple. It's so sweet."
Adds Swickard, "The world needs a classic, love story. So many comments and reviews from people said the film brightened up their day or warmed their heart. I love to see that because I do this to make people feel something."
