In the garden shed at Llanfair, Natalie and Seth are horrified when Jessica walks in and catches them making love. In an instant, though, Natalie wakes up in her own bed and realizes that being caught was only a dream. She calls Seth and tells him they must be more careful. Downstairs, she meets Jessica, cleaning mud from the doorway; Jessica asks about her late-night foray, and Natalie tells her she was "working" up at the main house. Seth arrives, and Jessica excuses herself to retrieve a box from the house; when she returns, Natalie leaves. Seth offers his assistance with the box but drops it, and is surprised when a baby rattle falls out. He asks Jessica about it, assuming it was hers, but she says only that it is special to her, then excuses herself quickly and leaves. Seth follows her to Megan's grave, where he sees her place flowers and tell Megan that she thinks about her all the time.

Antonio is disappointed in the "unacceptable" remark that his sociology paper received, and believes that the instructor is punishing him for his earlier remarks about her. She tells him his research is out of date, and he angrily states that the paper was written two years prior, but does not understand the failing grade. The instructor refuses to budge, annoyed when Antonio cites his difficult climb to success, and Antonio leaves, frustrated. Later, the professor is surprised when Chris enters and introduces himself, apologizing for missing her first class. She lets his absence pass and gives him a study guide, stressing that she is not an ogre; while they are talking, Antonio returns to retrieve his essay.

At the Palace, Renee is frustrated at Max and Blair's lack of interest in their own wedding preparations, and asks why they are making such a show of a convenience marriage. Max is so preoccupied with memories of Gabrielle that he accidentally inserts her name into his quick recital of a vow; Blair is equally preoccupied with memories of Todd; however, they both claim to be in love with each other. When Renee leaves to order flowers, Blair complains to Max about his distraction, and he leaves. Alone, she mutters that he would not marry her if he knew her baby is Todd's, and Renee overhears Todd's name as she returns. She questions Blair about Todd, suspicious, and tells Blair that she will not stand for anything that hurts Max.

Gabrielle sneaks into Todd's penthouse to search for the tape, but he catches her and demands to be apprised of her plan with Asa. When she refuses, he threatens to show the tape to her son. Gabrielle insists she cannot divulge details, and Todd begins speculating about how they might seek revenge against Max. His mind wanders to murder, which strikes him as too extreme, then he realizes that the revenge would be much more sweet if Max were somehow framed for murder. Blair, he says, could be implicated if she were to obtain the murder weapon; Gabrielle is intrigued by the idea and tells Todd to get a copy of Blair's signature. Todd asks her about her feelings for Max, and when she protests, tells her not to mess up the plan, as he is extremely good at revenge. Alarmed, she leaves and goes to the Buchanan lodge to strengthen her resolve against Max; as she is thinking, Max arrives.

Alone in Blair's bedroom, Todd is handling a piece of her clothing when she walks in and demands to know what he is doing there.

Due to the horrible tragedies befalling our nation today, all soap operas were pre-empted today. Presumably all network programming will resume tomorrow with no episodes lost.

Soap Opera Central would like to extend our deepest, heart-felt sympathies to any and all persons affected by these horrific events.

Wednesday, SEPTEMBER 12, 2001

Due to continuing news coverage of yesterday's attacks against The United States, all regular daytime network broadcasts have been put on hold. Therefore, no soaps will be shown today. It is unclear when programming will resume as normal. However, Soap Opera Central will remain on deck and provide complete coverage as soon as we are able.

Again, the thoughts and prayers of all those involved in Soap Opera Central -- our staffers and visitors -- go out to everyone touched by these horrors.

At this time, one may find comfort in the words of Agnes Nixon, a profilic soap opera scribe and creator of All My Children and One Life to Live.

Speaking of the "kinship of humankind under God," Nixon writes:

The great and the least
The weak and the strong
The rich and the poor
In sickness and health
In joy and sorrow
In tragedy and triumph
You are All My Children

Thursday, SEPTEMBER 14, 2001

Due to continuing coverage of the attacks against America, all daytime programming has been pre-empted. It is anticipated that regular broadcasts will resume on Monday, September 17th with a rebroadcast of this past Monday's episode. All networks have pledged that there will be no lost episodes. By rebroadcasting Monday's episode, that will allow the shows to be back on the correct day for each broadcast. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Central for complete details.
