At the apartment, Shane told John he'd hidden in the closet because he'd felt something bad was about to happen. On the roof, Rex threw Gigi to the ground when he discovered the laser pointed at her. Simultaneously, Todd began battling Ramsey for the rifle in the empty office building across the street. As Todd and Ramsey wrestled, the rifle fired, and the bullet struck John's apartment window. Ramsey gained the upper hand and pointed the rifle at Todd.
John pushed Shane to the floor and shielded the child with his body. Both watched as the bullet was lodged into John's slot machine. Upon hearing the gunfire, Gigi pushed Rex away and ran downstairs to find Shane. Before following Gigi, Rex observed Todd and Ramsey in the office building. Once downstairs, Gigi was reunited with Shane and John.
As John ordered everyone to hide in the bathroom, Rex questioned both John and Gigi about what had just taken place but received no answers. Rex directed John to the office building, where he'd observed the two unidentified men. As John headed across the street, Rex demanded answers from Gigi. Gigi told Rex about the kidnapping and revealed that Todd and Ramsey wanted her and Shane dead. Rex admitted Todd was a terrible person but didn't believe he was capable of killing a woman and her child.
Meanwhile, Todd pushed Ramsey against a wall, and the two struggled over the gun again. When Ramsey heard footsteps, he fell to the ground and allowed Todd to take control of the gun. As Todd pointed the weapon at Ramsey, John entered the room. Ramsey told John that Todd had just tried to kill Gigi and Shane, but he'd prevented it.
After their date, Cristian and Sarah arrived at her apartment. The two discussed their wonderful evening together and shared a passionate kiss. Both agreed it was rather exciting how their relationship had evolved, and how they continued to enjoy each other's company. While Sarah and Cristian shared a romantic moment, Layla entered the room and interrupted the couple.
Once Layla left the room, Sarah invited Cristian to the Go Red Ball. Cristian accepted Sarah's invitation and gave her a loving kiss goodbye. After Cristian left, Sarah was elated. When Layla asked Sarah if she was falling for Cristian, Sarah happily announced that she already had.
Upon entering the Lord mausoleum, Allison was excited to be in the presence of the late Victor Lord and perched herself on top of his crypt. When Allison told Jessica and Natalie that it was possible Victor's heart might still be beating, the sisters demanded that Allison quit playing games and reveal her secret. Allison told them, "People think their secrets die with them if they remain unspoken, but it's not true." Allison then sprawled her body over Victor's crypt and smiled.
Fed up with Allison's antics, Jessica threatened to take Allison back to St. Ann's immediately if she refused to cooperate. Natalie pulled her sister to the side and suggested she give up her quest for answers from Allison. Natalie didn't believe Allison knew anything about the family and was simply playing a sick game. Jessica told Natalie that Victor was her father, and she needed to learn the truth. When Natalie asked Jessica to return Allison to the mental institution, Jessica stated that was not an option at that time.
Jessica threatened Allison one last time. Jessica told Allison that Tess was very much a part of her. After Allison continued to speak highly of Mitch and made awful statements about Viki, Jessica became frustrated. Jessica gave Natalie a signal, and the two locked Allison in the crypt. Jessica told Natalie that perhaps Allison would decide to talk in the morning, after spending the night with corpses. Natalie was doubtful and told Jessica that Allison had had worse things happen to her.
As Jessica and Natalie walked away, Allison screamed hysterically and pleaded with the girls to let her out. Jessica smiled to herself, but Natalie appeared worried.
At the jail, Bo allowed Michael to spend some time alone with Marcie before her arraignment in the morning. While Bo told Michael that he and Marcie had serious issues to discuss, he received an important call and excused himself. Michael told Marcie he wanted her to change her mind and plead not guilty, but she was determined to enter a guilty plea.
Marcie appeared distraught and told Michael that everyone had witnessed her behavior on national television, and no one would ever believe she was innocent. Michael begged Marcie to reconsider and told her that a guilty plea would leave her with no options. Michael told Marcie he didn't want to lose her. As Marcie and Michael continued to disagree, Marcie had memories of Tommy.
Back at the office building, John told Todd to give him the weapon, but Todd refused. Todd told John that Ramsey was the one who'd attempted to shoot Gigi and Shane and continued to point the gun at Ramsey. As Todd ordered Ramsey to be still, Ramsey disregarded Todd's statements and denied his claims. Moments later, Bo and several police officers entered the office and ordered Todd to put down the gun. Immediately, Todd relinquished the weapon and put his hands in the air.
Todd told Bo that he'd stopped Ramsey from killing Gigi and Shane and explained that the gun had accidentally gone off. Todd expressed concern when John informed him the bullet had gone through his window. Ramsey continued to accuse Todd of attempted murder. Todd asked Bo if he realized what Ramsey was actually capable of and insisted that he'd prevented a murder.
When John accused Ramsey of hitting him with the rifle, Bo felt he would get answers, since traces of John's blood would be on the weapon. Ramsey stated that along with John's blood, Todd's fingerprints would also be on the gun. After listening to Ramsey's accusations, Todd asked Bo if he realized Ramsey was lying, and Bo stated he did. Bo ordered his men to handcuff both Todd and Ramsey and stated the matter would be handled at the station. As Todd and Ramsey were escorted out of the building, Bo gave John a knowing look.
As Rex continued to press Gigi for more answers, Gigi blurted out that she blamed Rex for what had happened. When Rex questioned her statement, Gigi apologized for being so harsh. She stated that if she had not gone to the roof with him, she would have been with Shane at the time of the shooting. Shane told his mother he was fine and not to worry. As Rex inquired about Gigi's involvement with Todd, Shane appeared suspicious and asked his mother exactly who Rex was.
Rex told Gigi to tell Shane who he was; Gigi was speechless. Gigi told Shane that Rex was an old friend. When Shane questioned her reaction to Rex, Gigi attempted to change the subject and received help from Rex. Rex began complimenting Shane on his bravery, and Shane appeared to bond with him. Rex told Shane his father would be proud of him if he were there. Sadly, Shane admitted he'd never met his father but hoped he would be proud. As she listened to their conversation, Gigi was heartbroken.
John returned to the apartment and told Gigi and Shane they were safe. John told Gigi about Todd's claims and revealed that he believed Todd had prevented Ramsey from shooting her and Shane. John promised Shane that he would not allow anyone to hurt him or his mother. When Rex asked John if Todd was in jail, John told Rex he was -- and would be forced to help Marcie.
As Michael continued to persuade Marcie to fight for her freedom, Todd and Ramsey entered the holding room. When he saw Marcie, Todd laughed. Bo ordered his officers to take Todd and Ramsey to separate holding rooms. Upon seeing Todd in jail, Marcie became excited and suggested to Michael that Todd might lose Tommy if he had committed a terrible crime. Michael quickly told his wife that Todd's crimes would not return Tommy to them. He gave her one last warning to plead not guilty.
Gigi apologized to Rex and told him Shane was not his son. Rex didn't appear to believe her and left. Out in the hall, Rex told John he'd saved Shane's life. John said Shane was a special little boy, and he would never want to see anything happen to him. Rex sadly stated he wouldn't, either, and walked away. John appeared to have something on his mind as he watched Rex leave.
Left alone in the mausoleum, Allison appeared quite calm. She began talking to Victor. She said that it was too bad Jessica and Natalie had left because she had something to show them. Allison stood against a wall and began knocking on a particular section of the wall.
Suddenly, a stone popped open, and Allison removed a gun from the opening. She stated, "Mitch, you've thought of everything." She then removed a plastic bag, containing a box, and said, "Hello, gorgeous." She looked intently at the package.
In Llanfair, Charlie and Viki sat down to a breakfast of heart-shaped pancakes. Charlie regretfully announced that he wouldn't be able to make the Red Ball. He felt that he'd be "out of [his] element" and didn't want to cramp her style. He felt that all eyes would be on them because of the events in Texas, and the ball was meant to be a function for charity. Viki would not hear of it, informing him that the tickets had already been paid for, so they wouldn't lose any money. She could get him a tux, and the people could just wonder about them, since they'd gossip anyway.
Meanwhile, Natalie and Jessica were frantic when they found that Allison had disappeared from the family crypt. They made their way to the house, where Charlie and Viki were eating. They covered up the real reason for being there and instead offered their services to Viki for the ball. As they gave each other signals, Jessica left on the pretense of hunting for their ball tickets as she searched the house for Allison. There was no sign of her.
Natalie and Jessica were introduced to Charlie and learned that he was Rex's father. Natalie was quite perplexed and noted that he didn't look familiar to her at all. Charlie told her that his encounter with Roxy had been quite brief.
The sisters hastily excused themselves, citing errands to be run, and decided to separate and continue their hunt for Allison. Charlie presented Viki with a gift of a replica of the Eiffel Tower with a cowboy hat on top. She loved it and cited their recent past of when things had been simple. She told him how glad she was that they were open and honest with each other.
Michael stopped by to see Marcie as she awaited her arraignment. He gave her a small heart for Valentine's Day, and she was amazed that she'd had no idea of the date. He said that the heart was to remind her that he'd be there forever. He whispered, "Remember, 'not guilty.'"
John and Bo arranged to have Todd sprung from jail as he paced his cell and murmured that he was not guilty. John snapped pictures of both Todd and Lee. When John laid it all out for Todd, Todd agreed not to testify against Marcie, though he didn't think anyone would believe what he had to say. John admitted that he personally believed Todd regarding the attempted shooting of Gigi and Shane but assumed that Lee would attempt to implicate Todd.
Lindsay ran into Nora before the trial and advised her that she wouldn't win the case and that she was on the wrong side. Bo interrupted them as they began to have their usual words with each other. Lindsay jokingly stated that she was talking about the trial because Nora couldn't. The judge arrived, and the arraignment began. Marcie pleaded not guilty, and the judge set bail at one million dollars. John told Todd that he would tell Gigi what to say depending on what Todd decided to do.
Roxy visited the diner, ordered breakfast, and attempted to give Markko tips on how to provide service. Her goal was to dig her previously written secret out of the secrets box. Her attempt was cut short when Jared walked through the door and spotted her. She hurriedly assured him that she was only removing her secret, not her monetary contribution.
Jared told Roxy the secrets would get burned, but she still wanted hers back. She asked the guys if they had secrets. Markko figured his life was an open book, and Jared said it was not his thing. As Roxy grilled him on his feelings for Natalie, Jared eyed the box and gave in. He'd had a dream about Natalie that had propelled him to the diner and the box in the first place. He wrote his note out, "Nat, I made it all up. I'm not your uncle."
Allison was there, in disguise, and spotted Roxy as her "ticket to ride." As Roxy tried to get her secret out of the box, Allison quietly said to herself, "Some secrets don't die in the fire, do they Rox?" She surprised her old friend and stated that they had "some catching up to do." Roxy did her best to get away from Allison, but the mental patient wanted to talk about old times. She thought they had old business to finish and pulled Roxy out of the diner. As Jared finished writing up his secret, Natalie walked in.
Cole had flowers for Starr for Valentine's Day, and he had a slap bracelet for Langston, who was really touched. Her mom had given her those bracelets long before. Starr watched silently as they hugged. Cole had to study, and Markko had to work, so the girls were planning to spend the day together. A less-than-enthused Starr grabbed the baby monitor as she made an excuse to quickly leave the room.
Starr listened to Cole and Langston's conversation while she was gone. Unfortunately, the words were static-filled and cutting out, but she heard them talk of hiding something from her and how it wouldn't be cool if she were to find out. When Markko arrived with flowers for Langston, Starr pointed out that Langston had received a Valentine's gift from Cole as well. Markko jokingly asked if he should be worried, and the guys laughed as Cole pulled some change out of his pocket and handed it to Markko as his "gift." Starr was obviously feeling down.
When the bail was announced for Marcie, Todd strolled into the courtroom and announced that he was posting bail. Everyone was shocked and confused, and Nora protested. Todd told the court that he'd been thinking that he would have done the same thing if the tables had been turned, but his son was at home, safe where he belonged. He thought Marcie had learned her lesson and that she was most likely suffering.
Nora thought it was some kind of stunt. Todd wanted his own charges from the shooting dropped, and Bo informed him that he'd never intended to press charges in the first place. "Go in peace," the commissioner told him.
As Todd phoned in his headline for the Sun, the McBains quietly left the courtroom. Marcie didn't believe him when he told her it had been the right thing to do. He asked her if she thought her home would be homey without her son and said that he hoped it felt like a prison. He also ordered them not to go within one mile of any of his family members, or he would kill them. Downstairs, Lee was released into the custody of FBI agents from Washington. John called an unknown person to report it.
Michael took Marcie back home after the arraignment. She asked where Tommy's things were. She was very upset, looking through everything. Michael told her he had given everything away to charity so she wouldn't be reminded of Tommy because he'd thought it might help. Marcie cried that she'd wanted to see his crib and highchair.
Marcie thought Michael wanted her to pretend Tommy had never happened. Michael just wanted her to start letting go. Marcie didn't know how to do that. Michael said maybe he could get some of Tommy's things back from Roxy. Next, Michael and Marcie went through the box of Tommy's things, piece by piece, remembering their son.
Blair read Sam a story as Todd watched. She asked Todd where he'd been. He told her he had been at Marcie's arraignment and further related that he'd paid Marcie's bail. Todd told Blair that John had blackmailed him into it. Blair made him tell the entire story. Todd said that after she heard the story, she might not want to have their marriage continue.
Todd told Blair that he and Lee had held Gigi and Shane hostage in Texas, and John had found out, which had given John the leverage he'd needed to make Todd support Marcie's release. Todd also told Blair that Lee had wanted him to kill Gigi and Shane. Todd assured her he hadn't planned to go through with it, but then Lee had threatened Blair and the kids. Todd said he'd tried to stop Lee, and it had been just in time to save Gigi. He told Blair he had been arrested, but John was protecting Todd, since he'd helped Marcie.
Todd told Blair he'd let her and the kids down. Blair said the old Todd would have lied and covered up what he'd done. She said she was not happy about what he'd done, but she was glad he hadn't covered it up. Blair said their marriage was not over because he had been honest with her. They hugged then kissed.
Bo told Talia and Antonio that they needed to be clear about the Llanview Police Department fraternization policy. Lindsay arrived and interrupted the meeting, delivering Bo his dry cleaning and asking if they were still on for the Go Red Ball that night. Bo nodded uncomfortably. Antonio and Talia left so Bo and Lindsay could discuss their date. Lindsay insisted it was not a date; they were just going to the ball together. Lindsay told Bo she wanted to do something nice for him.
Nora, listening outside the door, made a face and pretended to stick her finger down her throat. Then she coughed so they'd know she was outside. Nora wanted to talk to Lindsay about Todd posting bail for Marcie. As she started, Mayor Lowell arrived and said he was stunned that Marcie had gotten bail. He was upset because he'd promised the community that Marcie would be prosecuted. He said that when the case went to trial, there very well might be a new D.A. prosecuting.
Nora looked shocked, but Lindsay gave a small smile. Bo leaped to Nora's defense. The mayor was unimpressed and mentioned Daniel Colson, another of Nora's mistakes. Nora asked if they could have the conversation outside Lindsay's presence. Lindsay said she'd wait outside. The mayor told Nora he'd get rid of her if she didn't get Marcie's conviction. Nora told the mayor she didn't work for him -- she worked for the Commonwealth.
Nora left in a huff. Bo asked the mayor if he had maybe been a little hard on Nora, and the mayor said Bo was not in a position to judge. Then the mayor went off on Bo about being Lindsay's guardian. Bo told the mayor he was out of line; the mayor growled that Bo needed to clean up his mess. And further, unlike Nora, the mayor could fire Bo. Lindsay heard the entire exchange. She offered to move in with R.J. Bo refused her offer. He said they shouldn't worry about what the mayor said. He said he'd meet her at the ball. Lindsay thanked him.
Jared sat at the bar at the diner and wrote his secret on one of the cards: "Natalie, I made it all up. I'm not your uncle!" Then he put the card into the clear box as Natalie watched. Jessica arrived. Neither Buchanan girl had found Allison yet. They knew she hadn't shown up at Llanfair. Adriana and Rex arrived at the diner. Rex explained that saving Gigi's life had been no big deal -- he had just been in the right place at the right time. Rex said he thought Gigi was telling the truth about Shane not being his son. Adriana said that meant he could concentrate on his own father, Charlie.
Rex went over and said he needed to talk to Natalie. Natalie guessed it was about the news that Charlie was Rex's real dad. Jared overheard that part of the conversation. Jessica and Natalie left in a hurry to find Allison. Jared confronted Rex, asking if he'd just heard correctly that Charlie was Rex's father. "What's it to you?" asked Rex.
Jessica suggested they look for Allison at Lion's Heart and other places Mitch had hung out. Natalie suggested getting Bo involved. Jessica insisted they shouldn't tell Bo because if they did, they'd never learn Allison's secret. Adriana asked if Jared knew Charlie. Jared played it off, saying he'd thought Natalie had been upset in reaction to the news about Rex's real father.
Nash arrived. He spotted Jessica and said he'd been looking all over for her. He wanted to know what she'd been doing. She tried to kiss him and run off, but he stopped her, wanting to know what she and Natalie had been up to. Jared received a call from the person he and Nash were to meet -- they needed to reschedule. Jared invited Jessica, Natalie, and Nash to lunch. Natalie and Jessica declined, saying they had to get dresses for the ball.
Nash said it was going to be a surprise, but he'd already bought the red dress Jessica had had her eye on. Nash wanted to go home with Jessica. Adriana said it was a coincidence that both Jared and Rex had recently found out who their real fathers were. Adriana and Rex left. Nash and Jessica left, and Natalie found herself alone with Jared. Jared told her about the box and asked if she had any secrets she wanted to share. Natalie stalked off.
Roxy and Allison arrived at the Hair Haven, arguing. Roxy wanted her to leave town. Allison grabbed a pair of scissors and held it to Roxy's throat. She said she was not going anywhere. There was a knock at the door. Allison told Roxy to get rid of whoever it was. It was Nash, carrying Bree, and he wondered why the salon was closed.
Roxy made some excuse about being alone, and Nash disagreed. He had seen her go inside with another woman. Nash needed Roxy to watch Bree for a while. She tried to get out of it, but Nash wouldn't take no for an answer. He had a meeting with Jared at the diner.
Allison walked out from behind the wall and took the baby from Roxy. Allison said she looked like a Buchanan then contradicted herself, saying that Bree couldn't look like a Buchanan, since Jessica wasn't one. Allison said it made all the difference in the world who someone's father was. Roxy grabbed the scissors like a weapon, and Allison put Bree between them.
Roxy told Allison not to hurt Bree, and Allison said she would never hurt Mitch's granddaughter. They traded barbs. Michael arrived and introduced himself to Allison. Allison introduced herself as Laura Mitchell, Roxy's new trainee. Michael asked for Tommy's things back. Roxy had the items and gave Michael the key to the storage area. Jessica and Nash arrived at Roxy's to pick up Bree. Allison hid with Bree on the other side of the wall.
Charlie had something he needed to tell Viki, but Lois interrupted and said there were visitors. Gigi and Shane arrived, getting big hugs from both Viki and Charlie. They made jokes about Viki's mansion. Gigi asked how they'd hooked back up, since they hadn't even known each other's last names, and Viki proudly told Gigi that they had learned each other's last names. Viki announced, "This is Charlie Balsom."
Gigi looked shocked and asked if he was related to Rex, and Viki told Gigi that Charlie was Rex's father. Gigi laughed and said that was impossible. They asked how it was impossible. She told them she had gone to high school with Rex in Michigan. Charlie explained how he'd never known about Rex and had just found out he had a son. They asked what she was doing in Llanview.
Gigi explained she was in town to help Marcie. Viki and Gigi had differing opinions on Todd's character. Viki said Todd was a wonderful father. Gigi told Viki that Todd had paid Marcie's bail. Charlie asked how long she was going to stay; Gigi didn't know. Viki invited her to the Go Red Ball. Viki arranged to have Shane stay with Matthew and Nigel.
Bo arrived at Llanfair. Viki introduced Charlie to Bo and confirmed that Charlie was Rex's father. Bo said Rex was a great kid, and maybe he and Charlie could talk sometime. Bo needed to talk to Viki. Charlie offered to take Shane to Asa's mansion, and Gigi left with Lois to find a gown.
Bo told Viki that Allison had escaped from St. Ann's.
Talia and Antonio met at the end of their respective shifts. They looked at their watches and saw that they were off duty. Talia grabbed him, and they kissed passionately.
Lindsay arrived at the diner and wrote her secret on a card: "I faked insanity to be cleared of murder charges," then put the card into the heart box.
It was a big night for Llanview as almost everyone pitched in to get ready for the Go Red Ball. A sullen Starr helped Dorian pack gift bags for the attendees while some of the guys did some heavy lifting. Starr confessed that she was having a problem trusting some of her friends, but Dorian believed they should be given the benefit of the doubt because they were nice people. Starr was tired of hearing that; she thought Langston and Cole were seeing each other behind her back.
Nora eyed the secrets boxes, remembering Lindsay filling in a slip of paper and depositing her own secret at the diner. Nora wanted to know which box was from the diner, and when she was directed to that box, she attempted to get into it. She was startled when Clint and Lindsay approached, and she backed away quickly. For Lindsay's sake, Nora pointed out that the scribbled secrets wouldn't heal people's guilty consciences and that they should make amends instead. Nora learned that the secrets from all of the boxes would eventually be dumped into one large box and burned.
While many of the adults were getting ready for the ball, Langston and Cole were at Ultra Violet, putting the finishing touches on Starr's surprise sweet 16 party. They were stunned to learn that Rex had arranged to have Mary J. Blige perform. Markko arrived and jokingly warned Cole that he had lipstick on his collar, which Langston unsuccessfully tried to remove.
Addie walked in on Blair and Todd as they were being affectionate, and she began to cry. She confessed that she'd never realized before how much of life she'd been missing, like being in love and married. Todd told her to look on the bright side of the situation: by not being married, she wouldn't have a divorce. That lightened the moment and Blair invited Addie to the ball. She had extra tickets because Craze had bought several. Addie accepted and quickly made a phone call to ask someone to accompany her.
When Dorian and Starr arrived home, Dorian was unhappy to learn that her sister was going to her ball. Addie explained that Blair had invited her, and Dorian immediately apologized. She felt bad for not asking her sister to attend herself. A bubbly Langston got home, too, and convinced a quite opposite Starr to attend some teen event at Ultra Violet. Langston left the room but forgot her cell phone. The phone rang, and Starr picked it up when she saw it was from Cole. She heard him say that he had Langston's earring, and he thanked her for a wonderful Valentine's Day.
Later, Todd could see that Starr was feeling down. She told him that she'd misjudged some people and could no longer trust them. He told her that she should confront them, and then she'd know if she was right or not. He added that if she was right, she should let them have it.
At Llanfair, Viki learned from Bo that Allison had escaped from St. Anne's. Her immediate thought was to not attend the ball, but he and Natalie convinced her that everyone would be there, and it would be better than staying home alone. They pointed out that Allison, not having a ticket, would not be able to attend the ball. Bo learned that two novice nuns, who were missing, were the ones who'd probably helped her escape. They surmised that they were disciples of Mitch Lawrence. Natalie begged off from the ball, telling her mom that she was getting sick with something. Bo had arranged for police to watch the house so she felt she'd be safe.
At the hair salon, Jessica and Nash were ready to take Bree home but had a difficult time with Roxy. She informed them that their daughter was in the back with the new girl she'd hired, getting ready for a special surprise. Jessica was momentarily interrupted by a phone call from Natalie, who reported that the police were looking for the two nuns, and there was no news on Allison's whereabouts.
Jessica told Natalie to go to the ball, but she herself would stay home. She couldn't leave Bree alone with a sitter. Allison reacted to the announcement by knocking supplies over in the back, but Roxy ran to get the little girl. Jessica offered her ball tickets to Roxy. Bree was finally ready to leave with new, cute little pigtails. When they were alone, Allison ordered Roxy to help her find a dress because Roxy was going to take her to the ball.
Talia, Layla, Adriana, and Sarah all got ready for the ball together. Their dates showed up early and were made to wait outside. The men were speechless when the glamorous women were finally finished. Adriana told Layla that Rex was not the father of Gigi's son.
Charlie dropped Shane off at the Buchanan mansion to hang out with Matthew. On his way out, he ran into Jared. "Why are you here?" Jared wanted to know. He told his father that he'd already heard about Rex being Charlie's son. "Better him than me," Jared told him.
Jared didn't want to hear Charlie's story and pointed out that his father was pretending so that he could have an advantage, just like him. Jared was introduced to Shane, who mentioned that his own dad was dead. Jared responded that his dad was dead too. The two boys played some video games and ate ice cream. Shane confided that he'd like to stay in Llanview, maybe forever, because he liked it there.
At Ultra Violet, everyone awaited Starr's arrival. When she and Langston arrived a little too early, Langston went off to chat with Cole. Starr could hear them, and she immediately began to yell. She told them how sneaky they'd been behind her back. She spied the lipstick on Cole's collar and proceeded to tell them off even more. They headed into the main room, where people were hiding amid all the decorations. "Surprise," they all screamed.
Nash could see how worried Jessica was about Allison being on the loose. She quietly told him it was her fault. He tried to clarify what she meant, thinking that maybe Allison had gotten provoked by seeing Jessica at St. Anne's, and it had pushed her to break out. Jessica had to tell him that she had been literal when she'd said it was her fault. She confessed to breaking Allison out, with the help of Natalie.
As the ball began, Nora was still eyeing the secrets boxes. Dorian and Viki realized that they were once again co-hosting an event together. Viki hoped for no surprises. Bo told Lindsay how proud he was of her and the whole "get if off your chest" campaign. He told her she was a strong and brave woman.
Todd and Blair pretended to have fun. Addie called Miles and told him to hurry. "You can't have a date with Miles," she heard from Blair. Adriana and Rex were relieved that they probably wouldn't see Gigi again -- until she walked in. She asked Todd if he'd held anyone hostage lately.
Jared admired Natalie, who introduced him to Charlie and then stalked off. "How's your new son?" he asked his dad. "Working out for you...screwed him over yet?" he continued. Charlie wanted to say something to him. Dorian overheard and wondered what it was, and Viki said Charlie had no secrets from her. Roxy and Allison arrived, with Allison carrying her gun in a tote bag. "This is gonna be a blast," she exclaimed.
Outside Ultra Violet, Starr angrily told Cole and Langston how she felt about the two of them sneaking around. Marrko heard the commotion and quickly alerted the guests to Starr's presence. Upset with Cole and Langston, Starr abruptly entered the club and was surprised by her friends, as everyone shouted, "Surprise!" After realizing Cole and Langston's true intentions, Starr felt guilty and begged their forgiveness. Cole and Langston accepted Starr's apology, and the party began. Starr's happiness continued as Mary J. Blige performed for the crowd. Starr was having the time of her life.
At the vineyard, Jessica admitted to Nash her part in Allison's escape from St. Ann's. Nash was upset and could not believe his wife would become involved in such a caper. As Jessica expressed her need to protect her family, Nash remained skeptical. Nash believed Allison was conning Jessica. Jessica told Nash about the hidden compartment at the mausoleum; Jessica was convinced that Allison had retrieved something of vital importance. Nash convinced Jessica to tell Bo the truth about Allison. Jessica agreed to go to the ball and reveal the truth to Bo but asked Nash to stay with Bree and guard her with his life.
At the Go Red Ball, everyone's evening appeared to be off to a rough start. Gigi angrily confronted Todd about his role in the shooting. When Rex noticed Gigi's conversation with Todd, he became alarmed and felt the need to assist her. At first, Adriana appeared hesitant, but she agreed Rex should aid Gigi. As Rex looked on, Gigi warned Todd to stay away from her and Shane.
Across the room, Jared suggested Charlie should spend some quality time with his son, Rex. Angrily, Charlie threatened to expose Jared's secret unless his son agreed to calmly speak with him. Nearby, Viki was dreading her conversation with Dorian and her date, Mayor Lowell. When Dorian observed Charlie speaking with Jared, she quickly pointed out to Viki how close the two had become.
Meanwhile, Bo informed Lindsay, Nora, and Clint of Allison's escape from St. Ann's. Upon hearing the news, Nora suggested Lindsay offer her expertise on the matter. Before an argument ensued, Clint and Bo quickly separated the two women. Unnoticed in the background, Allison observed the guests and planned her next move.
Alone at the bar, Charlie told Jared he'd noticed Jared's reaction to Natalie. Charlie warned Jared not to cause Natalie any pain. Charlie told Jared to give up being a Buchanan if he truly loved Natalie. Charlie threatened to reveal the truth if he ever witnessed Jared looking seductively at Natalie again. Jared warned his father that his relationship with Viki would be over if Jared were to reveal his true identity to the Buchanans. Charlie was willing to make the sacrifice.
Jared and Charlie's argument quickly turned to the past. When Charlie demanded to know why Jared felt the need to be a Buchanan, Jared admitted he was angry at Charlie for leaving his mother. Jared revealed his mother had met another man, who had physically hurt them both. He told how Pamela Stewart had been the sister of the man and had often gone over and made the abuse stop temporarily. Pamela would often speak of her wonderful relationship with Asa Buchanan and how he loved his sons. Jared admitted that he'd fantasized about having Asa as his father and had jumped at the first opportunity that presented itself. Charlie apologized to his son but admitted he could not change the past.
As Allison spied on the guests, Roxy attempted to convince her to leave. Roxy warned Allison that she would be carted off to St. Ann's once someone noticed her. Allison refused to leave -- until she'd had her fun. Roxy continued to beg Allison to leave. Allison told Roxy she hadn't broken out of St. Ann's to hide behind a curtain -- she wanted to have fun.
When Roxy took her eyes off Allison for a second, she discovered Allison had disappeared. Roxy finally located Allison and questioned what exactly she was up to. Allison told Roxy she intended to make them all pay. Jessica entered the ballroom, looking for Bo, but noticed Allison peering from behind a curtain. Realizing she had been spotted, Allison pushed Roxy away and took off, with Jessica hot on her trail.
Natalie approached Viki to speak with her about Allison. When Natalie wondered if Viki was waiting for Charlie, Viki informed Natalie that Charlie and her Uncle Jared had gone off together somewhere. Viki and Natalie intended to have their discussion at the bar but were surprised to witness Jared and Charlie involved in an intense conversation. Jared asked Natalie if he might have a private conversation with her. At first, Natalie was unwilling but grudgingly agreed. Jared informed Natalie he would like to discuss their relationship. When Natalie informed Jared they were family and needed to realize that, she was startled by Jared's response: "What if we weren't?"
Bo, Lindsay, Clint, and Nora met up again. Nora asked Lindsay when the burning of the secrets would begin. While waiting on Lindsay's response, Nora had a memory of witnessing Lindsay place her secret at the diner. Jokingly, Clint wondered what an unburned secret was called. Nora replied with a smug smile, "Evidence."
Dorian approached with the mayor and introduced him to Lindsay. Mayor Lowell exclaimed, "How could I ever forget her?" When a photographer took a picture of the mayor standing near Lindsay, Mayor Lowell appeared bothered. The mayor asked to speak with Bo privately, and he presented Bo with a letter of resignation.
As Lindsay and Nora watched from a short distance away, Mayor Lowell told Bo to either evict Lindsay from his home or resign as police commissioner. Bo refused to resign and informed the mayor if he wanted to force Bo out, the mayor would have to fire him. Mayor Lowell told Bo to consider it done and demanded his badge. Lindsay approached Bo and questioned if everything was all right. Bo smiled nervously but didn't reveal what had taken place.
Gigi thanked Rex for defending her. As Rex informed Gigi he would always be on her side, Adriana interrupted their conversation. Gigi and Rex stared uncomfortably at each other.
While Dorian and Viki called everyone's attention to the podium, Nora excused herself from Clint. Lindsay noticed Nora leaving the ballroom; she quickly followed her. When Nora began to tamper with the secrets box, it fell over and broke -- exposing all the secrets. Lindsay entered the room and found Nora sprawled out on the floor, reading the secrets. Lindsay told Nora she was a jealous shrew who could not stand to see anyone else happy. Nora was embarrassed.
Meanwhile, Mayor Lowell approached the podium and informed the room full of shocked guests that Bo was no longer the police commissioner. The mayor announced he would like to introduce everyone to Llanview's new police commissioner, a highly decorated former FBI agent. Everyone gasped as Ramsey approached the podium with a big grin.
Jessica located Allison standing on the terrace. Screaming at Allison, who had her back to her, Jessica stated, "It's over, right now!" Removing a gun from her purse, Allison turned to face Jessica. Smiling, Allison pointed the gun at Jessica and responded, "It sure is, Jessica."
