Upstairs at the mansion, Katherine tried to convince Pilar that Martin was only renewing vows with Pilar out of guilt but that he was still in love with Katherine. Pilar kept denying it and insisted Martin only loved her. Katherine told Pilar she had been naked in Martin's arms the night before and earlier that day. Pilar called her a liar. Katherine said to look at the scratches on Martin's back as proof.
Downstairs in the kitchen, Father Lonigan tried to get the truth out of Martin about his true feelings for Pilar and also for Katherine.
Ethan and Theresa worked on the plans for revitalizing the poor sections of Harmony. Theresa was treading lightly but still dropping subtle hints about how the project needed Ethan to see it through. A call from Mr. Collier let her know that Gwen would be sure to be tied up with projects long into the night. Theresa became bolder with Ethan and started to persuade him to be co-CEO with her again.
Chris and Sheridan found a secret door in one of the Hawaiian compound's many rooms. Chris broke through and instructed Sheridan to keep watch while he investigated. She heard a commotion after he went in and then silence.
Otto got ready to follow through with Alistair's instructions to blow the compound up.
Simone confided in Rae at a gay bar about how alone she felt. Rae suggested they try their relationship again.
At Crane Industries, Ivy planted seeds of doubt about Kay's love in Fox's mind. She gave him a picture of Kay with Maria and Miguel and lied to him, saying Kay kept it at her father's house and went over to look at it often. After Fox left for the mansion, Ivy celebrated with Valerie then quizzed Valerie about whether she had been able to talk Miguel into getting on the Crane jet to return home for the renewal ceremony.
Kay and Tabitha arrived at the Crane mansion with Endora and Maria in tow. Tabitha was sure that doom and gloom were on their way to Kay, but Kay wouldn't hear any of it. She was sure Miguel was off hunting Charity, anyway, so it didn't matter. Fox arrived and, despite his concern about Kay, embraced his girls. Then he started dithering about whether Kay really did love him and if the planets being out of alignment was really the reason she wouldn't accept his proposal.
Tabitha defended Kay, but Fox wasn't buying it. When he stepped out of the living room to answer a cell phone call, Kay decided to go for it and asked Fox to propose to her again. He did, and much to the chagrin of Endora and Tabitha, Kay accepted.
In the kitchen, Father Lonigan held Martin's feet to the fire about whether or not he still had feelings for Katherine, and Martin sidestepped the issue by only saying how much he loved Pilar and the children and how he wanted to be committed to loving her for the rest of his life.
Upstairs in Pilar's room, Katherine demanded that Pilar call off the renewal ceremony because Martin still loved her. She told Pilar to look at Martin's back if she didn't believe they'd been in bed together just that morning. Pilar threw Katherine out of her room then sobbed. When she pulled herself back together, she went and stood before the door to Martin's room, where he stood shirtless with his back to the door.
In the library, Theresa tried to get Ethan hooked on a job with her, since she had enticed him by having him solve problems she was having with his redevelopment project. She closed the trap prematurely, and Ethan swore that not only would he never work at Crane, but he wouldn't even help her out with the problems with the project. He stormed out, and when Theresa followed him, his mother stopped her and told Theresa to leave Ethan alone.
After Ivy left her, Theresa imagined herself walking down the stairs to the strains of "Here Comes the Bride," and as she got married to a grateful Ethan, Ivy sat tied in her seat with a gag over her mouth. As Ivy went to the living room for the ceremony, the doorbell rang, and suddenly Ivy was in the catbird seat. Miguel had arrived, and she was sure it would be the end of Fox and Kay.
At the Hawaiian Crane compound, Chris and Sheridan found a secret room, and Chris went in to explore. One of Otto's henchmen had seen them go in that direction, so Otto decided they had to evacuate the compound and blow up the house. Chris stumbled over a body in the hidden room, and Sheridan was sure it was Marty until Chris told her it was an adult.
Sheridan then decided the body had to be Beth. Otto pushed the self-destruct button, and an electronic voice started counting down from twenty minutes how long they had before the place blew to smithereens. Chris grabbed the body that was wrapped in a bag and pulled it out. Sheridan wanted to keep looking for Marty, but Chris insisted they needed to go, and since the body was still breathing, they had to take it with them.
At Sam's house, Sam confronted Noah about his past and keeping secrets from Fancy. He left to go to the renewal ceremony at the mansion and comforted Fancy in the kitchen. He urged her not to give up on Noah. Earlier, Fancy had gotten the same kind of encouragement from Grandmother Katherine.
Pilar went to Martin's room in the mansion as he was getting ready. She wanted more reassurance that he truly loved her. He told her he loved her as much then as he had on their wedding day. She gave him cufflinks her father had left for Martin when he'd died. Pilar had kept them, hoping to be able to give them to Martin one day. As she readied herself to leave the room, they hugged, and she got makeup on his undershirt. He took it off, and she saw the scratches on his back that Katherine had left.
Fox proposed, and Kay accepted, much to Tabitha's displeasure. The three of them made a toast to the engagement, and the Champagne glasses exploded. While the maid cleaned up the mess, they took the girls outside to play. Fox and Kay saw Father Lonigan outside and told him of their good news. Father Lonigan got Kay by herself and reminded her that not long before, she had sold her soul to the devil to be with Miguel. He questioned her feelings regarding both Fox and Miguel.
Ivy was eager for the newly arrived Miguel to reunite with Kay and Maria but was caught off guard when Fox told her that he and Kay were engaged. While he was talking with Ivy, Kay went upstairs to check on Maria and found her in Miguel's arms. While the three of them were reuniting, Fox went to the doorway and looked crushed.
Noah got a call on Maya's cell phone from the mystery woman. He made plans to meet her people on the wharf and armed himself with Sam's gun before leaving.
Chris and Sheridan got the body out the window of the compound seconds before the bomb went off. They and the body were thrown clear. Chris told Sheridan to go search for a car. When she left, he uncovered the face of the body to reveal a bearded Luis.
At the Crane Mansion, Pilar hugged Martin, getting makeup on his undershirt. He pulled it off, which revealed Katherine's scratches on his back. Pilar saw them and went ballistic, shouting about him being with his whore and slapping him. Martin had no idea what she was talking about, so Pilar told him to look at his back. He tried to explain that Katherine had tried to seduce him, and Pilar got very angry at him and swore that she was done with him and his lies.
Pilar ran out, and he tried to follow her, but Katherine walked in and told him to let Pilar go. He insisted that Katherine tell Pilar the truth, and Katherine said that Pilar wouldn't want to hear anything more from her. He was aghast that she'd said anything and especially that she lied about making love. Katherine told him that she'd do anything to keep him. He exploded in anger at her causing Pilar pain, and she said it was better to cause her pain then instead of after the ceremony, "Darling." She purred that they were free to be together.
Martin refused and told Katherine he wanted to be with Pilar. Katherine told him that she knew he still loved her, not Pilar. He told her that because of her lies, he might have lost Pilar again.
In the nursery, Kay went to get Maria and found Miguel holding her. Fox followed Kay and saw Miguel. Ivy lurked until Fox saw Kay with Miguel then tried to plant seeds of worry in Fox's head. It didn't work, and Fox went in to introduce himself. Tabitha and Endora followed, and Tabitha quipped that she wouldn't have to worry about buying a wedding present for Kay and Fox. Ivy asked Miguel why he'd returned home, and he explained that Theresa's assistant had insisted he return. Ivy told Fox they should leave and give Kay and Miguel some privacy.
Ethan fed Jane in the library, telling her that her mommy would be there soon from work. Theresa walked in on them, and hearing that smarted. She told him that she had been looking for him. Theresa wanted to feed Jane. When Ethan went to get a burp rag, Theresa told Jane that she was mommy, not the blonde imposter Jane had to live with.
Theresa and Ethan took Jane to the nursery for a nap, and Theresa whined about missing her. Ethan stopped her and recommended that they go downstairs for the ceremony. Little Ethan jumped into Ethan's arms and started complaining about Ethan not living there anymore. He wanted to know if Ethan didn't love him anymore. Ethan told him that he and Gwen had wanted to find a house for their own family, and Little Ethan cried that he thought they were a family. Ethan tried to explain it to Little Ethan, and Theresa signaled for him to not talk about it then, so Ethan just said he was sorry and left for downstairs.
Miguel, Kay, Tabitha, Fox, Maria, Ivy, and Endora went downstairs. Fox and Kay toasted Miguel's homecoming. Ivy pressed that she couldn't get over how much Maria resembled Miguel. Kay gave Miguel all the news about everybody but left out the fact that she and Fox had gotten engaged. Ivy asked Miguel how long he planned to stay, and he answered that he wanted to get to know his dad and spend some time with Maria.
Fox asked Kay why she hadn't told Miguel their news, and she agreed that right then would be the perfect time to let him know. Ivy hoped that hearing the news would upset Miguel and cause him to stay in town. Pilar went to the kitchen and called off the ceremony with Father Lonigan. She told him about Katherine and Martin. He told her to sit down.
Father Lonigan asked Pilar if Martin and Katherine had committed adultery, and she said that Katherine had bragged about it. Father Lonigan told her that he believed Martin had resisted temptation, and she owed it to Martin and her children to try to make their marriage work. She finally agreed to give him another chance and went to talk to Martin. She walked into Martin's room in time to see Katherine planting another big kiss on Martin.
At the Hawaiian Crane compound, Chris began unwrapping the man in the bag, who he'd discovered was Luis, while Sheridan went to find a car. Chris began trying to get information from an unconscious Luis about Marty by shining a flashlight in his face. Luis cringed, so Chris covered up his face. Sheridan pulled up and got out to question "the man."
Without uncovering the man's face, Sheridan asked him about Beth and Marty, but he was barely conscious. He did hear her and started remembering all the high points of their life together. Sheridan and Chris decided that Otto had to have beaten and tortured him. They carried him over to the car to take him to a hospital. Sheridan got behind the wheel and sped along.
Sheridan and Chris left Luis' face covered when they took him into the emergency room and gave the doctors as much information as they could about John Doe. The doctor took Luis into a room to examine him while Sheridan and Chris went to the waiting room. Sheridan got impatient wanting to know that "the man" was okay and wanting to get information about Marty. As the doctors worked on Luis, Sheridan flung open the curtains to watch.
At the waterfront, Noah waited to meet someone. He heard footsteps but couldn't see anybody in the fog. He began to think it was a setup and then was confronted by the mystery woman. She purred about how beautiful he was, and Noah started hollering at her about attacking Maya and Fancy.
The woman played it cool and indicated that one of her agents had gone too far. He asked if she was with the government, and she said she wasn't at liberty to say. He told her to leave Maya and Fancy alone, and she told him his brute force couldn't stop her and her associates. He tried to grab her and pulled his gun, and she attacked Noah, leaving him in a pile on the wharf.
When Noah got up, he told the woman that they'd kept quiet and wanted to know what she wanted. She told him the man he and Maya had seen murdered had been her partner. She wanted him to find out who had killed him and what had happened to the package he'd gotten out of the old trunk in the attic.
Noah had no idea what had happened, and she told him he'd probably inherited some detecting skills from his father and grandfather, so he should get cracking then maybe Maya and Fancy would be safe. She threatened him at gunpoint, and Noah doubted he could find the information. He told her he hadn't agreed to anything, but the woman said he had better then jumped into a boat and took off.
Miguel gushed over Maria, with Tabitha agreeing with him. Miguel blamed himself for being away from Maria so long. Tabitha chimed in that Miguel had been off looking for Charity and still had no clue as to her whereabouts.
Fox wondered why Kay hadn't told Miguel about her engagement. Kay basically said she had been surprised to see Miguel and hadn't gotten around to it. Miguel told Kay that Maria blew him away. Ivy said out loud to herself that getting Miguel to Harmony was a great way to create distance between Kay and Fox. Kay started to tell Miguel about her engagement, but Miguel interrupted with something he had to tell Kay.
Ivy was planting seeds of doubt in Fox's head by telling him that Miguel hadn't seen Kay in a while and that their reunion had been an emotional one but an awkward moment for Fox. Fox told Ivy that Miguel was not a threat to him because Kay was telling Miguel about the engagement at that very moment. Ivy was laying it on really thick. She told Fox that Charity had dumped Miguel, so he would undoubtedly go after Kay, since men always wanted what they couldn't have.
Miguel told Kay there was something he had wanted to tell her for a long time but had never gotten around to telling her. He told Kay that she was a wonderful mother to Maria and that she was doing an amazing job. In addition, Maria was a wonderful child who was smart, sweet, and beautiful. Miguel was sorry he had missed so much of Maria's life. She was all grown up, and he had missed out on a lot.
Maria called Fox "daddy," but Miguel thought Maria was calling out to him. Kay apologized about that and explained to Miguel that Maria didn't know. Miguel seemed okay with it because he knew he had been gone for a while. Miguel rationalized the situation, assuming that Fox saw Maria more because he was Kay's boss, and that was all there was to it. Kay started telling Miguel about the engagement once again, but Miguel was too busy getting reacquainted with Maria.
Fox realized that Kay hadn't told Miguel about the engagement, and Kay told Fox that she had been about to tell Miguel when Maria had called Fox "daddy." Fox wanted Kay to tell Miguel as soon as possible because Miguel thought Fox was just Kay's boss. Kay thought up a perfect excuse to delay the inevitable. She thought Miguel had been hurt hearing Maria call Fox daddy and would not be too pleased to hear about them getting married and Maria being around Fox every day.
Fox didn't care that Miguel's feelings would be hurt because Miguel had chosen to leave Maria and Kay to chase after Charity instead of being a father to Maria. Fox didn't mind Maria calling him daddy because he was the one who had been there for Maria, and he told Kay to let Miguel know that he was not just her boss.
Tabitha said to herself that she'd known Miguel would be the one to cause trouble for Fox and Kay.
Ivy quipped that it was for Fox's own good, and she had a feeling it would be better than good.
Martin told Katherine to leave because he didn't want to betray Pilar again because of what they had been through. Katherine told Martin that making her leave wouldn't fix anything. After all, she said, he still loved her, and there was no way he could be faithful to Pilar. Martin assured Katherine that he could and would be faithful to Pilar. Katherine kept pestering Martin to leave Pilar for her, but Martin was firm and stood by his word to stay with Pilar.
Katherine continued to plead with Martin to stay with her, but Martin told her that he had been wrong to abandon his wife and children all those years before. Martin reminisced about how much he and Katherine had meant together and that he'd thought Pilar would have moved on but hadn't. He felt that he should be with Pilar because she was his wife and the mother of his children. He insisted that he would marry Pilar that night, and that was final.
Theresa was shocked and asked Pilar what was going on. Pilar told Theresa that she was calling off the ceremony. Theresa still didn't understand what was going on, so Pilar explained to her that Martin didn't love her and was still in love with Katherine. Theresa was still clueless and wanted Pilar to explain in more detail about what had happened. Pilar told Theresa that Katherine had convinced her that she and Martin had made love. She knew it was the truth because she had seen the scratch marks on his back.
Theresa asked Pilar if she thought Katherine was telling her the truth, and Pilar told her that she did not want to believe it, but after seeing the marks on Martin's back, her mind was made up. At that point, Pilar didn't know what to believe anymore because Martin had told her that he had never slept with Katherine, and Father Lonigan had sided with Martin, based on his confession.
Theresa asked Pilar if she had spoken to Martin, and Pilar said that she had gone to speak with Martin, but he had been kissing Katherine, and it hadn't seemed as if he had been forced to do so. Pilar thought Martin was still in love with Katherine and would rather be with his whore than with his wife.
Theresa told Pilar that she didn't know for sure if Martin would rather be with Katherine. Pilar insisted that she knew for sure and did not want to go through with the ceremony because it would be a sham. Theresa reassured Pilar that Martin would not go through with the ceremony unless he loved her. Pilar said she didn't just want to be the woman in Martin's bed. She also wanted to be in his heart.
Theresa kept telling Pilar that Martin wanted to be with her and loved her, but Pilar would not listen. Pilar said it was over for good. Theresa told Pilar not to give up on her father and not to let Katherine intimidate Pilar into handing him over to her. She told Pilar to fight for Martin.
Pilar said each time she looked at Martin, she envisioned Katherine. Theresa told Pilar to put that vision out of her head because each time Theresa thought of Ethan and Gwen, it was like a knife in her heart, but she put the image out of her head. Moreover, if she could get Ethan back, she would take him back in a heartbeat.
Pilar was stunned to hear those words out of Theresa's mouth and questioned if Theresa could just take the picture out of her head of Ethan making love to another woman. Theresa told Pilar she could because she loved Ethan. Theresa told Pilar to think of all the years she had waited for Martin, and insisted that, since he was back, she should not give up on him.
Martin left to look for Pilar. Katherine told Martin that his promise to forsake all others would be a lie in his heart. Martin told Katherine that he had to do the right thing and not hurt Pilar. He had an obligation and a duty to her. Pilar overheard and asked Martin if she was just an obligation to him and if he just felt he needed to marry her out of duty.
The woman told Maya to be more careful with her cell phone because she had tried to reach Maya, but Noah had answered. Maya asked the woman what she had done to Noah. The woman told Maya that Noah had refused to tell her about the package. Maya told her to leave Noah alone because he didn't know anything. She told Maya that Noah had been in the attic when her partner had been killed, so Noah had to have seen something. Maya told the woman that she and Noah hadn't seen the killer's face.
The woman insisted Maya and Noah had to have seen something, and she needed to get the package back. The killer hadn't tried to sell it because it hadn't surfaced yet. Maya told the woman she was wasting her time because Maya and Noah hadn't seen anything. The woman insisted that only Maya and Noah could lead her to the killer.
Maya told the woman that Noah wouldn't do it. What Noah really wanted to do was go to the cops and tell them everything. The woman told Maya to do whatever she had to in order to stop Noah from going to the police. She made vague threats on Maya and Fancy's lives. Maya told her not to because she would keep trying to work on Noah. Maya said if Noah found out she was working for the woman, she didn't know what he would do.
Noah told Maya the game was over, since he didn't know what was going on. He told Maya he had been in touch with the people who had been hounding her and demanded Maya tell him the full story. Maya told Noah there was nothing else to tell, but Noah didn't believe her. Noah said it was very dangerous, and he wished he had gone to the police years before. Maya told Noah that Fancy should not be told because of the danger.
Noah's reply to Maya was that Fancy had left him because he wouldn't tell her the full story. Maya apologized. Noah thought Maya didn't care about him, because if she did, she would tell him the truth. Because of the conversation Noah had had with the woman, he asked Maya about the package and what all of it meant. Noah was fed up and wanted to go to the police because the woman was threatening Fancy's life again. The woman overheard the conversation because she had planted a bug on Maya. She said that if Noah went to the police, he would be making a big mistake.
Maya asked Noah not to call the police because he would make the situation worse. Noah wanted to know how much worse it could get and wondered what Maya was keeping from him. The woman called Noah to make sure he wouldn't go to the police. She told him that if he did, Fancy's life would be in danger once again.
Noah had a hunch that Maya was working for them, since they knew every move he made. He asked Maya if she had been talking to them, but Maya denied it. Noah didn't believe her. The woman overheard all of that and said Maya should be careful not to let Noah in on their little secret. Noah thought Maya's necklace was bugged because she had always worn in it Noah's presence, so Noah yanked the necklace off Maya's neck and stomped on it. The woman realized Noah had discovered the bug and was going to do something about it very fast.
Sheridan was anxious to know if the man knew anything about Marty. The nurse said the man had it rough, and the doctor sensed that he had to have had someone or something to live for. Sheridan was frantic that the man was dead and was not able to provide information on Marty.
Sheridan told Chris they hadn't gotten the man to the hospital in time, and Chris apologized to Sheridan. Sheridan was upset that she would never find Marty because the man had been her only hope. The nurse walked in and told Sheridan and Chris that they had mistaken the man for someone else, and he was alive and in another treatment bay. Sheridan and Chris were relieved the man was alive because there was still hope for finding Marty.
Chris heard word from the police and there was no news on Otto and his goons, but they were still looking. Sheridan wanted to know who the man was and why Otto had held him. Sheridan also wondered if the man knew anything about Marty and Beth. Chris told Sheridan they would have all the answers when the man was conscious. Sheridan wanted to know if the man would live or die, and Chris told her to leave it up to the doctors to figure out.
Chris sensed something in Sheridan and wanted to know what was going on. Sheridan told Chris she was thinking about Luis because he had just popped into her head right then and there. Chris thought it was because she was worried about Marty, but Sheridan said it was because they were so connected. She was always able to sense when he was nearby. Sheridan thought the connection she felt was a clue to finding Marty.
Sheridan apologized to Chris about going on about Luis and told him that Luis meant a lot to her and that they had shared past lives together, but for some reason, something had always managed to tear them apart. Chris understood and made no fuss about it. Sheridan reassured Chris that she was committed to their marriage and not to doubt it for a second because she knew that Luis was gone.
Sheridan returned to the hospital and was frantic because she did not see the man. The nurse calmed her down and told her the man had been taken to radiology for more tests. Sheridan asked if the man had regained consciousness because it was very important that she speak with him. The nurse told her she would get a chance as soon as he got a private room. Sheridan was getting impatient. She wanted to know immediately what had happened to Marty. The nurse told Sheridan that the man was in and out of consciousness and was still very weak.
