Raymond doesn't think it is possible Amber is pregnant with his child, but Darla tells him that Amber is so in love with Rick that she will not even consider the possibility this child is Raymond's. Like it or not, Amber is pregnant and Raymond could be the father. Rick arrives at the church early for the dress rehearsal and is unsure if he can go through with the wedding. Rick has a baby that needs him, but this is for the rest of his life. Brooke blames herself for Rick marrying a girl he doesn't love. She had always dreamed her son would find the kind of love she has shared with Ridge and Rick has with Kimberly. Brooke feels none of this would be happening if she had not hired Amber and brought her into their house. Ridge comforts Brooke.
Amber stops by Kimberly's house to tell her how happy she and Rick be once they are married. Kim tearfully asks why Amber is telling her this. Amber says she knows Kim loves Rick and she just wants Kimberly to know that Rick will be alright. They all will including Kimberly. She will find another guy, but not Rick.
C.J. explains the night after Raymond and Amber slept together, she slept with Rick so there is a 50/50 chance this baby is Raymond's. C.J. urges Raymond to talk to Amber and get her to look at the reality. Raymond wants to stay out of it, but C.J. tells him that Rick and Amber are getting married tomorrow and it's up to Raymond to stop the wedding. Raymond wonders what he is supposed to tell Letitia but agrees to go back to LA with C.J. and Darla and talk to Amber. C.J. hopes Raymond can get through to Amber.
Tomorrow, Rick leaves behind Kimberly and begins a new life. He is just glad of the time they spent together. The minister joins Rick and asks him if he is really sure he wants to go through with this wedding, but Rick is standing by his commitment. Tomorrow he gets married. Kimberly acknowledges it's over between she and Rick as tomorrow he becomes Amber's husband.
The closer Rick gets to marrying Amber, the more scared he becomes. Is this how you are supposed to feel before getting married he asks himself. Rick just wants to be sure he is doing the right thing. C.J., Darla, and Raymond race back to LA hoping Raymond gets there in time to stop the wedding. Raymond told his fiancée' he is helping a friend. Amber is in big trouble and her only hope is for Raymond to get to her on time.
Unbeknownst to her, Kimberly is at the same chapel where Rick and Amber will marry. Kimberly walks in looking for a quiet place to think. She's confused and has no one to talk to. Kimberly has tried to forget Rick but every time she sees him it makes it so much harder. Rick is surprised to find Kimberly but happy at the same time. He doesn't want her to leave. Rick says he is unsure about going through with the wedding but doesn't want to bail on Amber or the baby. Ridge thinks he and Brooke should convince Kimberly to talk to Rick before it's too late but Brooke doesn't think that will do any good. Rick is determined to marry Amber. He's sacrificing his whole future and after they are married, Amber will never let him go. There's nothing anyone can do now. It's too late.
Amber finds it hard to believe she is getting married tomorrow since nothing ever goes her way. As she leaves for the chapel she gets the shock of her life as Raymond shows up! Flustered, Amber tries to quickly get away but Raymond asks if the baby she is carrying is his. Amber denies it saying the father of her baby is waiting for her at the chapel. C.J. warns Amber that they are not leaving until she hears what Raymond has to say, and advises Amber to call Rick and tell him she can't make it to the wedding rehearsal. Rick gets a call from Amber saying she has too many things to do before the wedding and will not be able to make it to the rehearsal. Rick is glad since it gives him more time with Kimberly. Rick is torn. He doesn't want to lose Kimberly yet he can't turn his back on his son either.
Amber continues to deny this baby is Raymond's but Raymond wants to know how she can be so sure. Raymond is sure they slept together about seven months ago and the next night Amber slept with Rick. Amber tells him to stop bugging her and to forget about it, but if there is even the slightest chance this baby is his, Raymond wants to know. Amber admits this baby could be Raymond's. Now what are they going to do about it?
At the chapel, Rick and Kimberly wonder how things would be different if Amber was not pregnant with his baby. This only makes Kimberly feel worse, but Rick says Kimberly can still find true happiness, just not with him. It's too late for Rick and Kimberly because he can't turn his back on his baby boy.
C.J. urges Amber to postpone the wedding until after the baby is born but Amber won't hear of that. She doesn't even remember sleeping with Raymond so the chances that this baby is Raymond's are small. C.J. tells Amber it's time she woke up for living in a dream world. How would Amber explain that Eric Forrester III is Raymond's son? Amber is sure her baby is Rick's because the only time she has ever felt loved was with Rick and this baby was created out of their love. If any part of Amber felt like this baby was Raymond's she would have told him.
Eric has his lawyer, Jonathan, transfer all of Rick's assets into a trust in order to keep them out of the hands of that gold-digging Amber. Jonathan reminds Eric that he will transfer the assets, but there is no way you can keep Amber from them indefinitely since California is a communal property state.
Raymond tells Amber to face the facts that they had unprotected sex and if the baby is his, then what? Then the Forresters come after Amber with everything they got, C.J. warns. Amber is not calling off the wedding. Her life has been nothing but crap until she met Rick and this is her one chance at happiness and she is not about to give that up. Stephanie comes home and is introduced to Raymond. C.J. and Raymond take off as Amber tells Stephanie she didn't go to the wedding rehearsal because Raymond stopped by.
When the wedding coordinator sees Rick and Kimberly kissing, she mistakes Kimberly for Rick's bride and begins the wedding rehearsal. Rick imagines Kimberly walking down the isle as his bride and the coordinator has the two practice their wedding vows. Rick wishes he hadn't made so many mistakes, but Kim says everyone makes mistakes although most people do not own up to them they way Rick has. That is why she loves him so much. After the rehearsal, Kimberly wishes Rick luck with the wedding and marriage and says she will miss him. Rick takes Kimberly in his arms and passionately hugs and kisses her.
Amber wakes and realizes it's her wedding day. She's all smiles until she remembers the confrontation with Raymond last night. Meanwhile, Rick wakes with a decidedly different outlook as he realizes he's getting married at a very early age. Brooke greets her son and downplays his concern that his mistake has affected her. She assures him that he can always come to her if he ever has a problem. Rick apologizes for putting her through this mess. Kimberly complains to her father that today is Rick's wedding day. He urges her to get over Rick. Sally finds her son is still unable to sleep and demands to know what is wrong. C.J. tries to evade the question but finally comes clean and reveals that Amber may be carrying someone else's baby. Hearing that Raymond may be the father, Sally decides that Rick deserves to know the truth and announces that they are going to tell him. Stephanie brings Amber to the chapel where the bride-to-be notices how nervous she seems to be. Amber tries to calm Stephanie and explains that she needs her support now more than ever.
Dressed for his wedding today, Rick apologizes to his father and thanks him for helping him deal with his mistake. He admits that he's learned how to be a great father from him and asks him to be his best man. Eric agrees. C.J. tries to stop his mother from telling Rick about Raymond but she insists it's the right thing to do. She remarks that she must not have raised him right if he treats his best friend this way. When Kimberly calls C.J. and asks him to escort her to the wedding, Sally uses the opportunity to try to get to Rick. As she dresses for the wedding, Amber argues with a vision of Raymond about whether she is carrying Rick or Raymond's baby. Stephanie interrupts with some encouraging words regarding the Forrester family and how well they handle a crisis. Brooke arrives and Amber tries to convince her future mother-in-law that she will make Rick the happiest man in the world. After Stephanie and Brooke leave, Sally sneaks into the room. She announces that she knows all about her night with Raymond and boasts that soon Rick will know the truth as well. Amber is frightened.
