"Goodbye, Detective, " Sonny said just before he fired a single shot at Dominic's heart. Dominic collapsed to the floor just as Olivia threw open the door. "Dante," she screamed as she ran to her son. Olivia looked up with grief-stricken eyes. "My God, Sonny. You just shot your own son!" Sonny stared down at Olivia and Dante with a mix of confusion and growing horror.

Alexis reminded Sonny that he'd called women derogatory names, but he maintained that abuse was a physical issue, not a verbal one. Kristina told her father that he didn't have to participate in the therapy session if he didn't want to, but Sonny insisted that he wanted to support his daughter. He promised to keep an open mind.

At the brownstone, Sonny prepared to shoot Ava for murdering Connie. Resigned, Ava slowly closed her eyes, but they snapped back open when a shot rang out without hitting her. Sonny and Ava looked at the doorway, where a furious Michael stood after firing a warning shot into the air. Sonny ordered Michael to leave, but Ava implored Michael to help her because Sonny intended to kill her. Sonny angrily shouted for Ava to "shut up" as he continued to aim the gun at her, but Michael revealed that he was there because of something that Franco had said.

At Greystone Manor, Sonny and Carly were surprised when they saw Michael enter the living room with Sabrina and the baby. Sonny was curious why Michael was there, so Sabrina approached Sonny with the baby. Sonny greeted his daughter, but Carly tactfully reminded Sonny that Michael preferred the baby be called "A.J." Michael admitted that it didn't matter because he was there to return his sister. Michael promised to talk to Judge Walters in the morning to have Avery's custody transferred to Sonny.

Andre assured Morgan that he could help and reminded Morgan that there were a lot of people who loved Morgan, but Morgan rambled about how he had tried to prove himself to Sonny, which had resulted in Kiki getting shot. Andre was curious when Morgan had last been truly happy. Morgan admitted that it had been during the holidays with his baby sister. Andre pointed out that it was proof that life could be good, but Morgan didn't believe him. Moments later, Sonny arrived with Michael and immediately assured his son that Morgan was not alone.
